All work was done professionally and the paint is still in fairly good condition after 6 years. We were very pleased and still are.

Had the company intially come out in 2008 to paint the exterior trim of the house of which they did a good job so we called them back when we needed more work done. They charged more but offered a 5 year warranty to come back and touch up. Called within the 5 year warranty as touch ups were needed and to also spent an addtional 1500 on some work on our deck and porch which they did not do the first time.They also charged us to pressure wash the house before they came to do the touch up. The pressure washers used too much pressure on the front of our cedar shingles and took the stain off to the point that we have to get another contractor to come in and resand and restain the entire front of our house which was not necessary prior the pressure washing. They were willing to restain the obvious shingles at ground level as a touch up but did not fix the problem. The deck stain we paid for was for two coats and it was obvious that they only applied one coat. I left messgaes for the person we worked with (Clay) the day that they removed their ladders from our backyard indicating they were done (no inspection nor walkthrough was performed with us) to discuss the cedar shingles and the sub-par state of the deck with it's one coat of stain and obvious areas under a grill and a planter that were not even given one coat of stain (we paid for chemical stripping and restaining) as it was clear to us that the job was not complete. After multiple calls to the main office number, where the manager was never available to speak to me, I finally got a call back and they sent another person out who verified that there was only one coat of stain on the deck and told us they had to get the person who originally did the work to come out and fix it. That person showed up 3 days later and made me show him the paperwork that I had that showed we paid for two coats before he would agree do to the work. (he had this paperwork initially as well - I had a copy) We finally got the second coat fixed after three more days when he came back as he had to go get more stain and that apparently took three days. The job is finished and looks OK but my shingles on the front of the house are still bleached/stripped from the pressure and I have to find another painter to come fix those. Be careful with these guys and stay on top of them. They told me that Clay no longer worked there and his cell was not being answered and that is why they did not respond to my many calls to him during the time that they were here doing the work. They did also rescreen and repaint our screen porch and did a good job there but it took them over a week to get the job done and was more hassle than I would have expected to have to get work done, especially as a repeat customer and the fact that I had told them I had another $1500 of internal work quoted and was planning to have them come back this fall to repaint inside. The painters know what they are doing but our experience was not very professional this time and I had to do all of the project management and follow up which was very disappointing. I would have expected a walk through or follow up from someone to make sure there were no issues and that did not occur. I stilll have a thousand dollar job needed to fix the cedar shingles that were damaged by the pressure washing, which I paid for! They also lost another interior job with us as a result of this poor service. If you have time to hold hands they know what they are doing but our expierence was less than superior from a customer service perspective.

They were very professional and nice people. They were punctual for the quote and it was a painless process. They were well-spoken, but, quoted me very expensive. I did not use their services and went ahead with a cheaper quote. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Overall, the experience was good. It was a pretty typical experince; I'm satisfied with their services.

Overall, the job went well. Their estimate of the work was very thorough, and they noticed some rotting wood at the corners of my roof that other contractors had missed. The price was also very reasonable, with more work for less money than with other estimates I had gotten. They were punctual, professional, and clean. In addition to just painting, they were able to perform several “handyman” tasks, such as replacing rotting wood and corroded attic vent covers. I gave them a B for quality because I had to help the painters sand down my front railings instead of just painting over rusted areas. Other than that, it was a job well done.

I think they did poorly. They said they would do it in a day but it took them three days. They didn’t show up the day they said they would come; they didn’t come until the next day. In the process of redoing our roof they really messed up our wood siding; a lot of pieces of my siding are broken. When they came back I showed them areas to fix but they only sort of fixed them. I had them come back again but I don’t think they did anything the second time. The price was good.

The guy was very nice and did what they said they would do. I would recommend them. I won't use them again because I don't live in Charlotte.

My neighborhood of 190 homes was hit by a spring hail storm. I received 10-15 direct mail pieces from roofers and 4 direct door to door sales contacts all of whom were out of town storm chasers. I very early made my mind up to only choose a local established roofer who would still be in town years down the road. I also wanted the money I spent to stay in the local economy. I would not use a company that was not in the Real Yellow Pages and Angies List and did not have a physical location in town. I watched as several neighbors used out of town companies and noticed that the work trucks had license plates from Texas, Kansas, Missouri and Georgia. In fact one of the companies is now being investigated by the NC Atty General's office for non-performance after taking large deposits and there is no way to follow the money. After selecting Advanced they contacted my insurance co. to confirm measurements and they scheduled the work to begin w/in 1 week. They did not ask for any deposit and required payment only after completion of the job and after I received my insurance checks. The job went very well, although they didn't always arrive at the job as early each day as told, but this is quite understandable given the nature of delays in securing my shingles, getting people & equipment moblized and fighting rush hour traffic. The crew leader was responsive to any concerns I had and was always onsite. In the middle of the install the crew leader realized that he had failed to notice that he was to install cut valleys vs overlap valleys. He stopped the job to inform me and offered to re-do what was a significant amount of work. I decided to stay w/ the overlap style which I think gives better water seal and still has a good look. All in all I am very happy with Advanced and would very much reccommend them.

The estimation process and scheduling was very convenient and accomodating. After an initial internal mis-communciation within the company and the foreman about which house was to be done that day, the team showed up a few hours late to do the work (I called to ask where they were, and they discovered the error, and immediately sent them over - they were very nice and apologetic). From there things went fine, the team worked late in the day, and returned the next morning right on time to complete the job. They cleaned up everything prior to leaving. The job was performed very well - the walls look great, the cracks in the one wall are gone, and the intricate work in the kitchen is perfect. I have used the company before, and will definitely use them again.

They were very professional. It was a little difficult to communicate with most of the team but they were very friendly. They did a very professional job. I guess to an extent they had underbid the job thinking that they were only going to need one coat and much of the work needed to so that kind of increased the price a little. I think they kind of underestimated what they needed and underestimated on the time as well due to that. But, I think they did a wonderful job and I am really happy with what they did.

This company misrepresented the job they contracted to perform by attempting to switch out the contracted paint for a cheaper, less quality paint for my exterior job. When I caught them doing it, the painters lied and denied they were not using the high quality elastomeric paint. I checked the cans and they finally admitted that they had not used the paint that was agreed on in the contract. I made them paint the entire house over again using elastomeric paint!! I would NEVER use this company again. They are deceitful and unprofessional in their dealings. I have sent emails out in my neighborhood warning others about ADVANCE Painting and would not recommend them.

They responded promptly after the estimate and did the job very promptly as well. I was happy with the work they did and I felt their price was fair too.

This company was VERY GOOD about following up after the estimate to see if they could help us with the work, and we took awhile deciding when to actually get it done. We went with another company (will also submit a report on them), not because we found anything negative about this one, but because the other company had a LOT more reports on Angie's List that were almost all 'straight A's'. We'll get estimates from them again in the future for any other work we need done.

Showed up as promised and did a good job pressure washing the house. Also I had my house painted 3 years ago by Advance and they have a 5 year warranty on their work. Luis schedule painter the next day after pressure washing to touch up windows and railings on my porch. No hassle, quick service as promised.

From a great start, I would not have predicted my disappointment with the final outcome. As I noted above, the work was performed in 2.5 days instead of the 4.5 days as initially quoted. Normally, this would not be an issue, but I think that the quality was sacrificed for speed. The workers got spackle and paint on the wood cabinets in the kitchen, and the granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. Items were moved or shoved into closets and cabinets and were not moved back. Lightbulbs were broken in lamps upstairs and not replaced (I found this out the hard way when I got home late one evening). In addition to the paint splotches on the granite countertops, I also found large paint splotches on the carpet, bed comforters, and numerous furniture items. In addition, touch ups were not done around the doorways and window frames, and when I asked the lead person if they could do it, it seemed to be a huge imposition. It was a large issue to correct the paint in the kitchen, which had been painted a light brown versus a bright coral color. The third day I was pressured to pay them in the morning before they had finished the work, and I was told to call the office to have someone come to do the touch-ups, which included not painting to the baseboards/windowsills/door frames. In addition to the issues above, during the course of the work, the painters were washing their brushes in my back patio and the water ran into my neighbor's fish pond. I found out about this from my neighbor and my friend who was checking on the work that day. The head of the crew did not talk to me about it until I was making the payment. Clean up was also an issue; chunks of wallpaper and hoses were left out in my front and back patios, which I had to clean up. I have left several messages with the office and received one phone call back. I have been very disappointed in the service and follow through and I hope that others do not have the experience that I have had. One of the biggest reasons that I went with them is that they were recommended by a friend of mine and had a five year guarantee on their work. The guarantee only means something if it is actually enforced.

It was done very well and we were happy with the outcome.

Though we didn't use Advance, I was pleased with the responsiveness and professionalism of the person who prepared the estimate. Couldn't comment on quality as they didn't do the work, and C on price was because they were at least $900 higher than two of the other three companies we got estimates from, though about $150 or so less than the third.

Performed all work that was listed and even some that was at no additional charge. Good communication. I would use them again.

Advance did a very good job with the exterior painting project. Our house is brick, so the painting job included the window trim, exterior shutters, garage trim, and the screened in porch out back. Team also replaced all the screens in the porch, as some of them had small holes from 15+ years of weathering. Advance's team arrived on time both days for the job and were very hard workers--breaking only for lunch even though the weather was extremely hot. The only two issue we had with the work were: had to confirm with the day crew that the porch and replacing all the screens was part of the contracted work to be done--I guess there was a mis-communication between the foreman and the crew, but it was quickly resolved when the crew lead made a call to the foreman; both days when the crew was done painting they emptied and cleaned out their paint buckets in the back corner of the back yard, which left an area of grass turned white with paint and primer--they should have some facility to clean their brushes and buckets in their vans/trucks and not have to dump them out on site. Overall though we were pleased with the work performed, and it was completed on schedule.

The job was done while I was on vacation. My salesman quit right before I left for vacation. They tried to coordinate the job in his absence. There where areas of substandard painting. My new cabinets were clear caulked to the wall with new paint under the caulk as other problems and minor damage. Advance Painting did there very best to rectify everything to my satisfaction, including replacing some cabinet end panels. Many of the workmen didn't speak English well.

They did a satisfactory job. They were very nice, but the detail of the work was satisfactory. They did arrive on time and were easy to work with. And the price was reasonable as well.

The quality of the paint was not very good, especially on the deck it only looked good for about 3 years. They did come back out to touch up the house but said that the deck was not included in the warranty. Now we are going to find someone to do it again because of the poor quality of their materials.

I first contacted Advanced Painting Contractors 4 years ago and they came out and provided an estimate. Each year since they had called to see if we were still interested. Finally this past month (September 2008) we decided it was time to do it, as our house that was built in 1999 had not been painted since construction. Much to my surprise... Advanced honored the original 4 year old estimate. They started 2 weeks later (would have been sooner except for rain) and completed the job in 3 days. The crew consisted of one English speaking Mexican-American as crew chief and 4 Spanish speaking crew members. They were all extremely courteous and worked very hard. I felt comfortable with them and appreciated their hard work.
