Advance Contractors

The deck looks fantastic. These guys are real miracle workers. My deck was in extremely poor shape and Advance Painting made it look like new.

The painting part of the work was fine, and done in a professional manner. The problem was with the repairs. Promises were made to repair a specific list of items with a specific type of material. There were countless examples of items not done (I had to call the supervisor 6 times to get any action). Composite, non-wood materials were to be used, and they used low grade wood...I had to call and complain, and even then the solution was very unsatisfactory...eventually, I gave in to less than agreed materials. Clean up after the job was less than professional...several bushes were destroyed, as well, and gutters were dented by ladders. They re-installed a trellis connected to the house very crooked. After calling and calling, I finally had to do the work myself. I would strongly recommend against this contractor.

Overall the paint job itself looks nice. There are a couple of areas that need to be touched up and I have called to have touched up but as of today I have not heard back. Work was perfomed 3/10-3/11. There was definitely a lack of communication between the salesman and the work crew as I had to fork over an extra $221 for painting of the ceilings (after the work was done) which I specifically stated needed to be painted when the estimate was given. Repair of nail holes not done as promised and fortunately we removed most of the furniture because, if we hadn't, this would have delayed the process even longer than the 2 days allotted. Crew was very friendly and showed up on time both days. Would use them again but would make sure that all communication is written down and explained before any work is done.

I was surprised to find them very slow to respond. They were late for the initial estimate (I can understand emergencies I guess). Clay gave me a verbal price quote which was reasonable and stated he would email me an official estimate. A week later I hadn't heard back from them so I called. He admitted he forgot but then never sent it anyway. He didn't return my pages to set up a time to clean. They said "no job too small" but then told me they have a $750 minimum. I got the distinct feeling that they didn't want to waste time with my small painting job. I was disappointed and went with another company due to my deadlines.

Gus and his crew did a terrific job - the work was neat and professional. They spent 2 days on the job and worked steadily until they were finished. They were careful to cover the floors and cleaned up everything when they were done. I asked about some additional work on the wood trim above the fireplace and they handled that for a small additional charge. Overall, it was a very nice job at a reasonable price.

Although, I selected another contractor after long deliberation, I must compliment Advance. Clay Timanus, their representative, was outstanding. He was very professional. He came to give an estimate based around our time schedule. He was very thorough, answered all our questions, gave us suggestions, and even delivered our estimate before he left. Afterwards, he followed up with calls to insure we were satisfied and had no other questions while we were completing the estimate process. Our decision was ultimately a toss up. I would highly recommend Advance and I will consider them for future needs. Bravo to Clay!!!

Came very quickly to give us a quote, followed up to see if we had questions. Were able to schedule the work within a week. Paint and wallpaper work was done well and good cleanup. Would use them again.

THEY CAME IN TO OUR NEW HOME TO PAINT WHILE WE WERE GONE. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE.

I can't even tell where the holes were patched now, and don't even get me started on how nice the walls look. The stellar work has impressed all that have seen it.

I was very pleased with the speed from our first call, to Ryan Glass coming for an estimate, and best of all, asked if the work could be done the next day since we had some furniture arriving in two days. The crew was there on time, excellent prep work to get the room ready, painted one coat on the ceiling and two on the walls. We had a specific color and manufacturer of paint we wanted, and they complied with our wishes. The team cleaned up TOTALLY when they were finished. Their price was the best of the three quotes, and in line with our budget for the job.

MITCHELL WAS GOOD ABOUT RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND HIS PRICE WAS BETTER THAN THE OTHER CONTRACTOR WE CALLED. THE PAINTERS FINISHED EVERYTHING IN ONE DAY AND THE ROOM AND THE BASEBOARDS LOOK GREAT. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE JOB THEY DID. THE PAINTERS WERE HAPPY TO FIX ANYTHING THAT WE SAW WHEN WE INSPECTED THE HOUSE. MY ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY DIDN'T FIX A HOLE IN ONE OF THE DOORS THEY PAINTED. HOWEVER, WE DIDN'T TELL THEM BECAUSE WE DIDN'T REALIZE IT BEFORE THEY LEFT. BUT OVERALL ADVANCE PAINTING DID A GREAT JOB.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE AT ALL TIMES. THEY DID VERY GOOD WORK, AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. THEY DID CLEAN UP DURING THE JOB AND TOUCHED-UP ALL AREAS WHEN IT WAS FINISHED. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

CREW WAS VERY NICE TO WORK WITH. THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY TO BE HELPFUL. THE WORK TOOK ONLY 2 DAYS, BUT THE CREW SEEMED TO DO A VERY THOROUGH JOB. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRICE, BY FAR, THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN QUOTED IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. IT INCLUDED PAINTING AND REPLACING WOOD.

THE CREW WAS OUTSTANDING. VERY PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE.

THOUGH THEY ARE NICE FOLKS, THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS FRANKLY LOUSY. LESS THAN 30 DAYS AFTER WORK WAS DONE, WE ENDED UP SELLING OUR HOME DUE TO RELOCATION. THE HOME INSPECTOR FOUND THEY HAD PAINTED OVER CONSIDERABLE AMOUNTS OF WOOD ROT AND FAILED TO CAULK NUMEROUS AREAS. ADVANCE EVENTUALLY CAME BACK TO CORRECT (REQUIRED NUMEROUS CALLS,) BUT TODAY I FOUND ANOTHER AREA OF WOOD ROT THAT WAS COVERED UP. UNFORTUNATE.

THE CREW AT ADVANCE WAS DELIGHTFUL, MOST PLEASANT, AND PROFESSIONAL. MY HUSBAND IS A PERFECTIONIST AND THEY DID EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE US HAPPY. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK AND WOULDN'T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND THEM. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN FOR ADDITIONAL WORK.

THE PAINTERS WERE EXTREMELY CAREFUL AND METICULOUS IN THEIR WORK. I HAVE EXTREMELY HIGH CEILINGS SO I KNOW IT WAS A DIFFICULT JOB FOR THEM. THEY WERE COURTEOUS AT ALL TIMES AND EVEN CLEANED EVERYTHING UP AT THE END OF EACH DAY. THEY WERE HERE EACH DAY WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE (A NEW EXPERIENCE FOR ME) AND ON THE ONE DAY THEY WERE DELAYED, THEY CALLED TO LET ME KNOW. I'M IMPRESSED!

THEY WORKED VERY HARD AND LONG HOURS TO GET THE JOB DONE. I DON'T THINK THEY EVER TOOK A BREAK! THEY DID GOOD WORK ON THE WINDOWS, BUT A BIT SLOPPY ON THE DOORS AND AROUND SCREENS. PAINT WAS A GOOD QUALITY, AND COLORS WERE MATCHED WELL. NONE OF THEM HAD MUCH PAINTING EXPERIENCE WHEN ASKED.

MITCHELL CAME OUT AND GAVE US THE ESTIMATE AND HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. HE ALSO GAVE ME A NEW AMOUNT, ON THE SPOT, ON THE TELEPHONE WHEN WE MADE SOME CHANGES. THE PAINTERS WERE WONDERFUL. THEY DID ARRIVE ABOUT 3 HOURS LATER THAN SCHEDULED ON THE FIRST DAY, BUT THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB AND FINISHED MUCH QUICKER THAN WE HAD ANTICIPATED, ALMOST AN ENTIRE DAY EARLY. THEY CHECKED THE SECOND MORNING TO MAKE SURE THEY HAD FIXED ALL THE PROBLEM SPOTS AND WERE HAPPY TO ADD ANY THAT WE HAD NOTICED. ALSO THEY CAME BACK TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS TO OUR SATISFACTION AND FIXED ANY PROBLEMS WE HAD NOTICED THROUGH THE NEXT DAY.

INTERIOR PAINTING WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THERE ARE NO BRUSH MARKS, AND CUT IN AROUND THE TRIM LOOKS GREAT. ALL EXTERIOR WORK LOOKS GOOD. THE CREW WAS VERY THOROUGH WITH PREP WORK.

THE CREW WAS FAST AND THOROUGH. EVERYONE WORKED HARD TO MAKE SURE WE WERE HAPPY. THEIR PRICE WAS BEST OUT OF THREE COMPANIES, AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT LOOKS PROFESSIONAL.

COMPANY IS VERY FAST BUT LACKS QUALITY. HAD TO HAVE TEAM RETURN TO APPLY 2ND COAT AS OUTLINED IN THE CONTRACT BUT THEY STILL MISSED SEVERAL SPOTS. DIDN'T PREP THRESHOLD BEFORE APPLYING PAINT SO IT PEELED OFF THE NEXT DAY. RETURNED TO REPAIR, BUT STILL DIDN'T SAND IT; ONLY APPLIED A THICK LAYER OF PAINT. SMEARED RED PAINT ON WHITE TRIM ON SHED AND DIDN'T COMPLETE PAINTING TRIM ON SHED THE FIRST TRIP. WHEN TEAM RETURNED TO MAKE REPAIRS, THERE WAS NO FOREMAN TO OVERSEE WORK. TEAM WAS COURTEOUS, BUT LANGUAGE BARRIER WAS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM AS TO WHY CORRECTIONS TO POOR PAINT JOB WERE NOT MADE DURING 2ND VISIT. WE MET OWNER MITCH FOGEL WHEN HE FIRST SHARED A PROPOSAL TO DO THE WORK, BUT HE NEVER CAME OUT TO INSPECT THE JOB.

EFFICIENT; DID PREP. WORK ON ONE AFTERNOON, COMPLETED ALL OF THE PAINTING THE NEXT DAY.

MITCHELL FOGEL WAS ON SCHEDULE, AND IF THERE WAS A DELAY, HE CALLED TO INFORM ME ABOUT THE DELAY. WHEN JOB WAS COMPLETED, I INFORMED THEM OF SITUATION, AND THEY CORRECTED THE ISSUE IMMEDIATELY.
