Response from Bud Matthews Service & Building Co Inc
Mr. [Member Name Removed], your feedback is highly appreciated. In my review of your experience, I discovered this was your first service request with Bud Matthews. I apologize if you were not fully informed of our billing rates. As part of the scheduling process, the dispatcher is responsible for ensuring all new customers have a clear understanding of our billing policy to better help you understand your invoice at the completion of your service call. This also helps prevent an otherwise positive experience from turning negative. In response to your experience and a desire to better serve our customers we have changed our procedure to now include an explanation of our billing rates in the appointment confirmation email sent to customers. Thank you again for your feedback. Our standard heating and cooling rates include a $76.50 trip charge and labor is billed $66.00 per 15 minutes ($264/hr). Our minimum charge to send a technician to diagnose the problem is $142.50. In the event a part is necessary to correct the problem the only additional charges would be the cost of the part and the labor to install. Also, the trip charge warranties the applicable appliance for 90 days regardless of the issue and the number of service visits we make. Mr. [Member Name Removed], the technician assigned to your work order is very competent and extremely thorough. He was at your home for 1hr and 45 minutes. However, I tend to agree, the repair cost in relation to the problem was a little excessive. I have instructed the accounting department to refund you $132.00. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you. We appreciate your business and the confidence you placed in us. I hope you will give us another opportunity in the future.
