They are awesome and we love them. We have been using them for the past 8 years. We take both of cars there and we highly recommend them. They are very genuine and honest. We deal mostly with the owners. Many of our friends and family see them too. It is hard to find mechanics that are honest and we were referred to them by a friend; and it is always nice to find someone that you can trust.

They do all of my vehicles work and have been doing that for 3 years now. They have taken care of all of my companies cars as well as my personal cars too. They are a bit pricey, but they always do what needs to be done and do it right. They are worth the price for the work that they do. I can definitely trust this company 100%. It is a family ran business. I wished I could give them an A+++.

They were very helpful. We had a bad slow leakage in one of our tires. They scrapped down the rim. We were able to purchase the tires through them and they fixed that for us. It took them about 2-3 hours, because they really scraped down the rim. He also told me that he was going to do his best. They went above and beyond. They also had a nice waiting room too. They apologized for how busy they were, they kept me informed with the process and they were just really professional.

We have used them for 15+ years. We recommend them to everyone. They are honest and only repair what is necessary. They are professional. We use them every for 3,000 mile checkup. We buy our tires from them too. They also do major repairs. We only deal with the owners at the front desk; both of their names are Paul. They are always straightforward and honest. They have an office lobby with coffee, a TV and newspapers. They schedule us within 1-3 days when we call in. They are always on time and prompt. I wished Angie's List would let me give them an A+. They service 2 Lexus's and a Honda for us.

These guys are great. I've moved out of the area now but I wanted to give them a review on AL. This is the most trustworthy car service place I've ever had. Most of their guys have been there for a long time. Very professional, great work at reasonable cost and very helpful - gave me good advice on a few car care issues.

I found Cary Car Care about two years ago in Angie's list and have been going to them for all my car service needs since. Every visit has been a pleasure, mostly in comparison to dealerships or fast oil change business' who are just trying to drain your wallet. I believe they are the most honest in taking care of my car and I feel confident they will tell me what I need to know for a safe driving experience. Simple things, example, while waiting, I was reading one of their newspapers supplied to the waiting room. Because they were done quickly, and I wasn't quite done reading an article, I indicated after paying my bill I had to sit back down to finish it. They offered for me to just take the newspaper home with me! It was the only one of the Wall Street Journal they had, that I know of, so they would have had to then go get another for other patrons that day if I had taken it!

Our son's 1999 Toyota Avalon wouldn't pass inspection because it had a front exhaust leak. We were quoted $1700 for part only from the Toyota dealership (no way could he afford that price). We emailed Cary Car Care asking if they could cut/weld the rusted piece of exhaust, they said they could, but would like for us to bring it by for a more definitive inspection/estimate. They were awesome to deal with, professional, and completely honest with their thoughts and that the cost could be a little more depending on certain things, which they explained in detail. We had planned to leave on Christmas vacation on Friday afternoon. We dropped off the car Friday morning a little after 7am and they called us by 11am saying it was finished! Amazingly quick, but also fantastic work for around $350 part & labor. What a lifesaver...and moneysaver too.
Description of Work: Our 1999 Toyota Avalon had a front exhaust leak, which we knew the entire part was going to cost $1700 at the Toyota dealership (NOT INCLUDING labor). Cary Car Care was able to cut out the rusted part of the front exhaust and weld a new piece in it's place for $350 part & labor included.

Cary Car Care did an excellent job making my '64 Chevy road worthy. They turned a noisy, noxious, rough, irregular headache into a reliable pleasure to drive - I love my truck again! They took their time to get it right and provided regular, detailed updates as the work progressed. They made no assumptions and asked my opinion if there was a snag or decision to be made about parts, operability, or schedule. Overall great job at a reasonable price - I highly recommend them and I will be back!

We’ve continued to be customers of CCC for about 18 months with the following recent experience. The assistance provided in selecting a proper tire for replacement of worn ones is unique and greatly appreciated. I found that what they recommended overlapped well with what my advance research had suggested. I also researched the likely cost of parts plus labor; CCC was less than the best deal I could find on-line. Do they have their own preferences / bias? Yes, but it seems these are aimed at providing the customer good quality at a good price. CCC also researched and helped me address an unusual problem that led us both to understand this would not require repairs (that, BTW, could have been quite costly). Last, due to my own forgetfulness, they were put in the position of having to do extra work. They did not quibble about it.

They were very professional, prepared for my arrival, had a nice waiting room, kept me advised of the progress, explained what they found and how they repaired the problem. I was there for approximately 1 1/2 hrs and did not feel abandoned or taken advantaqe of at all. (Sometimes women feel at a disadvantage at car repair shops).
Description of Work: I had a clutch problem that the Infiniti dealership gave me an estimate of nearly $1,100. The same issue was completely resolved by Cary Car Care for $75. Obviously, the dealership was trying to take advantage of me (a woman). I would recommend Cary Car Care for their professionalism, honoring the appointment time that I had made in advance, calling to confirm that appointment and doing the work quickly since I had to wait for the repair to be made. They were great.

While I was initially impressed with the fact that Cary Car Care does all their work by appointments, almost everything else was a disappointment. I feel like they took advantage of the fact that I am a 22 year old girl and they did work that I didn't ask them to do and tried to get me to do work that I did not need to have done in order to pass my inspection, which was what I was solely there for. Had I not specifically asked what worked needed to be done to pass inspection, I feel like they would have had no qualms leading me to believe it all had to be done. I truly think that if my Dad or fiancé had taken my car in instead, the quote for the spark plus/wires would have been a lot less and that there wouldn't have been extra time (and money) spent diagnosing things that were not asked for. I'll be taking my car back to get the inspection, but other than that I will not be returning to Cary Car Care.
Description of Work: I took my 2001 Ford Taurus in to have an inspection and get the check engine light diagnosed. I told them that after the inspection failed (like we knew it would because of the check engine light) to diagnose the light and any other problems that would keep me from passing the inspection. An hour and forty five minutes later, they came out and gave me a list of seven things that were wrong with my car, totaling about $2000. After they broke all the problems down for me,I asked what was necessary for inspection and they explained the only things that needed to be fixed would be to have the spark plugs and wires replaced since they were misfiring due to old age. The other things that they diagnosed were not safety concerns or things that would cause me to fail the inspection, like having the transmission fluid changed, the rotors machined, sway bars replaced. They breakdown to have to spark plugs and engine wires replaced was $70 for 6 plugs, $70 for the wires and $150 for the labor to do both. I paid $90 for the inspection and the time it took them to diagnose all the other problems with my car when I left that day but wasn't happy about it since I did not ask for them to do the extra work. I know enough about cars to know that to diagnose a check engine light you plug a computer to the car and it gives you codes that tell you more or less what's wrong, but they did much more than that. Normally I would be happy that they went above and beyond the inspection, but when their time costs me $50 an hour, I was upset that they didn't clear the extra work with me first. I now realize I should have said something about the extra work at the time I paid, but I was taken aback and didn't know that was something I could have done. When I went home and showed my fiancé the report, he was shocked that it would be $300 to have the spark plugs and wire work done. He then looked up the wires that they listed on my invoice that they would buy and showed me that they are about $2 a plug (we were on the Advanced Auto website) or $12 total for the 6 I needed, which is a far cry from the $70 they were going to charge me. The wires were the same story; the same set was $55 instead of $70. Needless to say, I got a friend at home to replace them both for me (for free, I might add) instead of paying their outrageous markups. When I asked them about the markup at the re-inspection, they just said they had to make money and it was normal and I could expect the same at any service station.

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews here, but after getting auto service from them I have high suspicions they effectively utilize these rating services to draw in clients and pick and choose who they'll dupe next. My first hesitation is when they told me my car needed a tune up which included new spark plugs and wires (sort of odd since I had this done one and a half to two years prior, I thought maybe that place didn't do something right; not so sure anymore). They also made some other recommendations, which did make sense, $800 later. The real problem came when one day later steam was rolling from the hood, the engine light and heat light both came on. I figured I better park it before something breaks or makes it worse. I called CCC and they said they'll get a tow truck (which later on they charged ME for, they could have TOLD ME THAT UP FRONT). I had to also find my own ride back to work. Now apparently something else "coincidently" broke, a $300 bill later. Granted this could have been coincidence, but a day later, after my first drive on the highway, for an issue I've never had before (thermostat stuck)??? They also made me pay for the $65 tow charge and they wouldn't give me ANY break on the labor. The only break they gave me was a "diagnostic fee" charge, which is VERY peculiar because I never had them charge that fee the first time I took the car there. I believe they just threw that in there to make it look like they were giving me a break. Now I'm not saying they sabotaged my car, but I have to say, the work they did prior was an indirect link to the new failure, possible direct link. Honestly, my gut tells me this is not a very honorable place to do business. Basically, I forked over 800 bucks for some stuff already done and was then given the TOUGH LUCK attitude for something else that broke down a day later. You would think they could give at least half off the labor and not give me a surprise tow truck charge. Bottom line...you might want to STEER CLEAR from this place.
Description of Work: Services performed included a two part visit. Part One: Tune-up: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil change Oil sending switch, valve cover gasket Part two: Overheating: replace stuck thermostat, flush radiator fluid

Our 1993 Plymouth Voyager was blowing smoke out the vents and the A/C was not doing a very good job of cooling. We had had numerous other A/C repairs at other shops. Those repairs tended to cost in the $700-800 range. Cary Care Car diagnosed both problems and gave a very detailed explanation on the invoice of not only the repair, but the process that they went through in finding the problems. About 2/3 of the cost was parts. We delivered the van on Tuesday afternoon and the place was near bedlam with customers. We picked the van up on Friday. The lot was empty and quiet when we got there. An employee said they try to clear out the lot every Friday. The staff was very friendly and professional in every aspect.

Contacted them through Angie?s List. I had a good idea what was needed and e-mailed them for an estimate. They provided a complete cost out the door. I asked them to repeat the pressure testing and to let me see the results. They agreed. On the appointment date, everything was as promised. I was called to the shop bay to see the issue after they had a chance to inspect the car. I asked them about what optional work might be done at the time, and they gave straight-forward and informative responses. It was all based on fact and the service manager only expressed an opinion when I asked for it. The work has held up well over several weeks. The entire experience was very positive, including the cost, which was 15% - 40% less than the other estimates I obtained.

I took my car there for a routine oil change and tire rotation. They told me there were indicator lights on that needed attention. I told them I have known about the lights for several years, that my previous mechanic in KY had checked the motor, coolant, emissions repeatedly and concluded the sensors were faulty, and that the car has been running fine for years. Their answer was that it would not pass inspection next October with those lights on and I needed to bring it in ahead of time to let them diagnose the problems. Then after the second oil change in March, the car developed a problem with the ignition coils, requiring 600$ worth of parts and labor, of course they also addressed the engine light and it actually stayed off for two days driving around Cary only to come on and stay on following 5 min on 440. Meanwhile, I contacted the DOT/DMV and asked about the inspection process. That's when I got really angry with Cary Car Care. For awhile I toyed with the idea of going in and telling them off in person, but I really have not had time during the week and they are not open on the weekends. Then I decided to write this review because they probably pull that crap on all the newcomers and just telling the guy at the desk off would not warn other newcomers. They are not the only ones misrepresenting the inspection process, I just received an add in the mail for one of the fast oil change places directed at newcomers in fact it was included in a newcomer welcome pack, it implied that your car must pass inspection in order to be registered in NC which is not true, if your car was registered in your previous state of residence, you can get it registered in NC without that inspection, but you will have to get the inspection to renew your plates the next year. So it is all about ripping off the newbies. Shame on Cary Car Care.
Description of Work: My anger at this company and the reason I will not go back to them is that while they did a decent job repairing my car they misrepresented the entire auto inspection process with the intent of getting me to authorize expensive diagnostics and possible repairs unnecessarily in preparation to passing the state inspection required to renew my car's registration in October. If I had not called the DOT DMV and spoken to staff in the auto inspection dept I would have spent money in advance of the inspection which would not count toward the $200 required to be spent for parts and labor top remedy a failure to pass inspection. According to the DOT staff, the inspection is required 90 days before the registration is due, and if your car fails you have 60 days to spend $200 worth of labor and parts on repairs to remedy the failure, have the vehicle re inspected and if it fails a second time you take your vehicle with all your receipts for work AFTER THE FAILED INSPECTION to one of the state inspector locations, which for Wake City is in Raleigh and they will review the work, the vehicle, and usually grant a waiver. Now this is what the state told me,Additionally the state DOT staff told me that NOTHING SPENT ON REPAIRS PRIOR TO THE INSPECTION COUNTED INTO THE 200$ REQUIRED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. What Cary Car Care told me is that I needed to get things fixed now, like asap. They never would tell me how much was required to be spent, further more they totally misrepresented the entire process. My suspicion is that they treat all new comers this way, to get people to spend money on unnecessary diagnostics and repairs which won't help come inspection time and won't be counted into the 200$. So I am angry and no longer trust them. Fair warning to anyone taking their vehicle there for repairs.

They diagnosed and fixed the problem plus did an oil change and tire rotation and had the car ready to go the next morning. As it turns out it was not a huge problem. Just a simple broken wire at the brake switch that prevented the shifter interlock from engaging. Total cost including the oil change, lube and tire rotation and taxes was only $93!!! I love these guys. They are honest; they do excellent work and they are prompt and timely. They NEVER tell you somehthng that isn't so. Ihave recommended them to my daughter and numerous friends and colleagues who have also become believers in Cary Car Care.

Very responsive to repairing my vehicle problems. The main reasons I particularly like this business is the very knowledgeable and personable owners who are always on the premises AND their not trying to force other vehicle repairs. I am glad that I found a reputable care repair service that already had very good ratings with Angie's List.

TERRIBLE! I would never let them work on my cars again. First, I would have liked to know I was going to spend $2500+ to get the A/C fixed,up front, on a 14 yeat old car with 130,000+miles. The car itself wasn't worth $1000. Second, good mechanics pay attention to details; they don't forget to put stuff back!!! I had no problems with them prior for simple oil changes and maintenance, but when it comes to major repairs I'm not so sure of their abilities.
Description of Work: The A/C on my 1994 Chrysler minivan wasn't working. I brought it in for repair. They told me they tested it and found a leak up by the valve, a simple fix and recharge. Under $200. 2 weeks later it wasn't working. I brought it back, they said after testing, again, the leak was in the rear condensing coil about $1000 to replace, and they would not charge me for freon. A month or so later, the A/C stopped working again, now they said the front condensor coil had a leak and it was $1500+ to replace because the entire dashboard had to come out. It was now a hot summer in NC and I paid to have it done. A few weeks later while driving in a heavy rainstorm, all my idiot lights came on and I lost steering. I pulled over, got out and looked under the hood. Water was pouring down from the windshield drain onto the serpintine belt pulley. Someone forgot to replace a flexible hose from the drain. I had to be towed to a different service station and Paid $400+ to have a new belt (which was chewed up when it slipped off) a new tensioner pulley, radiator thermostat and new Prestone. The temperature ran into the red zone when the belt came off.
