It went great. Shawn was really easy to work with and gave me great value for my money.

Overall it went very well. He was efficient, punctual and great to work with. We will definitely use him again.

Shawn was great, came out when he said he would and he did a great job, even did some extra painting to make sure that everything looked perfect when he was done. a small job but Shawn still did a great job. I'll definitely use him again

They are really good. They came when they said they were going to come. There was no problem. They did the work within two hours. I would use them in the future.

I contacted Shawn on his web site some time around August 25th to try to schedule a time to come out to my house to work on a leak I had in the kitchen ceiling (which was critical) and to schedule another time to to minor work. After he returned my email on Aug 25th. I purchased 2 three hour slots through Angie's list for a total of $198. After much going back and forth with Shawn, I requested a refund. Anglie's list was very good about the refund. The whole process with him was frustrating to say the least. I am going to provide you with actual emails we had and you can judge for yourself if you want to use this company. Aug 25th and email from Shawn regarding scheduling a time to come out: I can handle your work but right now I am scheduling work for the 3rd week in sept. Now I could find an hour in my schedule to come cut a hole and repair the leak which is a pressing issue. Friday, 9/2, I have some oral surgery being done at 8:30 but should be home by 10:30 - I may be a little out of it but that may be a better day for you. I have to take someone to the airport around 4PM that day so late in the PM does not work for me. Right now it is a small leak but I had something similar happen a couple of months ago and it got much larger after a couple of weeks.You have done a smart thing with the coupon. I read the reviews on Angie's list where some spoke to this kind of behaviour. I thought your responses made sense. Now I am not sure considering your lack of response to even schedule times.If you do not want to do the work here, please let me know and I will contact Anglie's list for a refund. In between 9/2 and 9/5 I received a message on my phone that he had no idea who I was: On 9/5 I received this email from him: I have gone back and looked at the thread. On the very first email I explained that I had very little time and that I could probably find an hour to come over and stop that leak but as of yet that hour has not presented itself. I have work scheduled all day everyday except the weekend and due to customers who actually buy extra time, I am now working Sat in most cases to try and keep the weekly schedule on track. You gave me some days that would work for you but none of them worked for me because as I already explained, my first opening was at that time the 3rd week in sept and its now the 4th week in sept. Again, I can "find" an hour here or there as I finish jobs early but that will not be something that is preplanned. You are referring to a customer who signed a contract with me to perform work knowing my schedule and then tried to control my schedule which cannot be done and so when his bathroom did not get the progress on it he had expected he bailed out. I told him up front just as I explained to you up front. I will not put jobs ahead of others who have been waiting in most cases 4 weeks or more. I could of told you that I had no time for your project but I did not. I do quality work and have been doing this work for over 30 years. I was fair with you explaining my schedule and that I would do my best to find an hour to come resolve the water leak and I understand that that has not yet happened and your expectation was that it would. You bought coupons after I explained my schedule and are certainly free to get a refund if you so choose. I am only one person and can only do what I can do. Im sorry it is not happening as fast as you would like it too.Shawn My response on 9/6: Shawn:This is just painful! You take absolutely no responsibility for failing to set up a time to do this work. Yet, you imply that I am not flexible. If you review my email of 9/31 I think I am more than flexible. I even left it up to you to schedule into October. If you had returned my emails and calls in a timely manner we would have been scheduled for the 3rd week in September or later. I have been trying to schedule you since August 25th. Shawn, this is not about it not "happening" fast enough for me. I have requested a refund from Angie's list.

Response was great from start to finish, he was great to work with. The work he did was great, we would definitely use him again. The only issue would be that he was a little late for the appointment. He was great about keeping in contact with us about this though, so it wasn't a major issue. I would definitely recommend him to my friends.

I bought the "big deal" 2 coupons for a total of 6 hours of time. I emailed Shawn right away giving a basic indication of what I needed done. I sent a follow up email 5 days later, since I had not heard back. A day later he replied that he could not do it due to a bad back. That same day I asked about the non "heavy" stuff I needed done; the next day he said he could do it. He then asked me if a day TWELVE days away would work! Ummm, no, that won't work. I asked for a refund and he indicated that angies would be glad to give me one; which they did. A handyman that has a bad back might want to indicate that on his profile page here. Taking that long to respond is rediculous, and asking someone to wait 12 days is also not acceptable.

Was paid for two hours of work but went over that to finish the job and did not charge extra. Superb job - will use again.

The estimate amount was $173. They were very open and honest. They told me about a labor discount that I was not aware of. The best description of the company owner and the work done is HONEST & SUPERB. I totally RECOMMEND this company. Shawn took the time to listen to the problem, gave us his opinion on the best way to make the repair, and repaired it correctly. Outside Faucet: A plumber (from another company) had told us that the pipe inside the wall would have to be replaced. Shawn from A to Z listened to the fact that the pipe only leaked when the faucet was turned on and felt (as I'd told the plumber) that it couldn't be the pipe in the wall if it didn't leak with it off. He took the time to check it out, found where the leak was and fixed it. SAVING US from having to expose the entire pipe to replace it. Carpentry work: He did a superb job.

I left a message with the owner; Shawn called back the same day and I had a quote within a couple of days. We agreed upon and documented the services to be perfomed. He was able to work with my schedule and was onsite within a few more days. The work was completed on-time and within budget. The work done was very professional and you cannot identify the sections of the house that needed repair. I'm already looking for other areas in which Shawn can help and would not hesitate to recommend him.

They were great. They were thorough, friendly, and helpful. We have a rental house and there were hornets or bees coming in and out of the roof. We had to figure out how to repair the roof and get rid of the hornets and bees. They were delayed, but normally they wouldn't have been.

It went well. He was late to the job, but it was due to extenuating circumstances and was understandable. Other than that, he did a great job and was very professional and affordable. On our shed door, he talked to me about options as far as how much money we wanted to spend. We are getting ready to move and only wanted to spend enough money to get the house ready to sell, and he completely understood that. We will probably have him come back and do some general handyman work to fix things up after we move.

The experience with Shawn was very positive and we would definitely use him again in the future for any carpentry work. I was particularly impressed that via email we worked through the project details that became part of the contract documents. I have been burned in the past with verbal agreements. Shawn created a statement of work that we both agreed upon before he started, even though this was not a large job. i was impressed with his approach.

He was on time, professional, and pleasant. He exceeds my expectations; this guy is great. He fixed my doorknob like he was a mechanical engineer.

Shawn has done an excellent job for me in a number of different areas. From fixing screen doors to framing walls, he has performed great. I have a number of rental houses and am in the business of repairing and renting or selling properties so I have seen him take on and handle many tasks professionally and for a very fair price. He has a good guarantee on his work too (in writing).

We purchased handyman services from A-Z Home Repair through an Angie's list "Big Deal" and are very happy with the service we received. Shawn was prompt in responding to our emails and answering any questions. He came out to our house and repaired the mailbox post and replaced the mailbox after the garbage truck hit it. Two days later he came back and installed a shop light in our crawl space. Both of these were small jobs, but Shawn never seemed like the job was too small and not worth his trouble. He was friendly and courteous. We would use his company again.

From our first encounter with Shawn, he was very knowledgeable regarding our needs. His approach actually saved us money compared to another estimate that we had received. He was very easy to work with and communicate with and understood our expectations. He was very efficient in completing the project and with a quality orientation.

They owner of the company did the job. He was very professional and friendly. He spent a lot of time here are did a fantastic job. I will use his services in the future, too.

What a delight to have subscribed to Angie's List and find A-Z Home Repairs here! I've always wanted to shout Shawn's praises to the public. His company has the type of integrity you just don't see often anymore. When I had a bit of hurricane damage to my roof, soffit, and gutters but had very little budget to work with all at one time, he told me very frankly how to triage what needed to be done based on what was most important, and then we worked step by step with my budget to address the most vital issues first. He and his team did such a great job every single time; I never had to ask them to come back to re-do anything, and they always went above and beyond to make sure their work spoke for them and that the work would last. This is not faint praise when it comes to a 60-year-old wood-structure home in North Carolina!! There aren't enough words to characterize the integrity of this company. They never once failed to tell me when they could come in under budget, and if they ran into something that was going to bump costs, they never failed to discuss options with me. Also, the team always did a little something extra when Shawn noticed something that needed attention, and oftentimes I noticed I wasn't charged for something I noticed later was polished up or fixed. The team was punctual and always took great care to make their worksite shine when they left so I wouldn't have to clean up after them. I cannot stress how very, very honest A-Z is in terms of estimates, invoices, and payments. I was so impressed with A-Z's work that I recommended them to dozens of friends and acquaintances over the couple of years they did home repairs and landscaping for my home. I even gave their name to my employer for general structure upkeep and to my ex-husband (yes! my ex-husband!) after he was taken for a ride by a contractor that took his money and didn't complete the work. Everyone who took me up on my recommendation was happy, and I hope they hired Shawn and his team over and over again. I'm delighted to have this chance to recommend A-Z Home Repairs and to be in touch with them again now that my home needs a few more touch-ups. I think he's a great guy. He was professional in everything he did, which impressed me. He is a one-man show and can be a little bit disorganized, but as far as workmanship and professionalism go, he is amazing. I would recommend him.

They did the job and it went fine. I don't remember how much we spent. They provided good service and gave a reasonable quote. They were good on the clean-up. They were reasonable. We would use them again in the future.

He took about 4 1/2 months to complete the project. I realized that it was a small project and if he wanted to work in his other projects than that was okay, however he took it to the extreme. I was thinking it would take a shorter amount of time and personally, I wouldn't use him again. When I signed off on the work that it was completed to my satisfaction, but at that point I was just ready for him to leave. It didn't really matter what his quality of work was, I just wanted him out of my house. He made some mistakes as far as the workmanship goes and I wasn't real happy with that, but basically I needed it done because his work was holding up work I was trying to do.
