Affordable Painting

My daughter contacted Affordable Painting on the recommendation of her brother who had previously used them and the ratings on Angie's List, of which I am a member. She was very pleased with the quick response and initial visit and itemized proposal received. She was extremely pleased with the work done and the accommodating way they also moved furniture and prepared the walls for her. Barry gave her poster-board sized samples to help her make her final color selections and was very sensitive to her work timeframe. The cleanup done by Barry and his crew was outstanding.

It was a pleasure working with Barry Wood and Affordable Painting. He was a true professional: prompt, timely, and an excellent resource for color and paint selection. He and his team went above and beyond to finish our job with great care and excellent quality. They started our job the week of Thanksgiving, which concerned me a bit, but they finished on time and cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell they were there - except for the beautiful paint job they left behind. We will definitely use Barry again for our next job - which will be to stain a wooden privacy fence around our backyard. I wouldn't hesitate an instant to recommend him and his team. Excellent job, very competitive pricing, excellent response, true professionalism.

Barry was great to work with. He was very good at returning my call when I called for an estimate. He came out the next day and took measurements and explained what he would do and what type of paint he would use for all the different surfaces. His crew was great! They were very polite and professional and even let my dog out when I was gone one afternoon. I felt very comfortable with them in my house and wouldn't hesitate to use him again!

I had a great overall experience with Barry and his guys. Barry came out the next day after I called him and looked around, took measurements and then called me that evening with his price. He told me how much the paint would be and how much was for labor. I had 5 other companies come out and give me estimates, and while they were all very nice, Barry's estimate was were I wanted to be and I liked him from the beginning. Barry's team was very polite and professional. They even let the dog out while I was out shopping! I felt very comfortable having them in my home and I would recommend them to anyone who needs painting done. My home looks beautiful! Thanks Barry!

To start, Barry is very responsive in his follow up and quoting process; he outlines exactly what his team will do, what paint product he recommends and what conditions would be best (in this case for exterior painting in the fall weather). Barry and his team simply refuse to cut corners. On the original scheduled day, the weather was colder and damper than anticipated - rather than paint the house in non-ideal conditions, Barry called to suggest we reschedule for a warmer and dryer day. On the paint day, Barry and his crew showed up as promised, performed the job and communicated the results. Barry's team take pride in their work by diligently prepping and providing two complete coats of exterior paint on my home. The house looks great using the paint product Barry recommended. Would I use Barry again? Of course... we're scheduling our next interior painting for the early new year.

Barry transformed our dirty old white walled interior into a nice place to live. He did an excellent job with everything including helping to pick out colors and paint type, and deciding on accent walls. Barry and his crew spent 6 full days working in my home and not once did I feel uncomfortable. They had a lot of furniture to move since we are living here and this was not an empty home for sale. In the meantime, he made every effort to be respectful to me and conscientious while working on the job. I was very pleased with the quality of work and the price. I highly recommend Barry and Affordable Painting.

Barry was upfront with the timeline of when he would get started. He wanted to wait until it wasn't as hot out so that the paint would dry properly. He gave us a call a few days prior to starting. They arrived when they said they would. He and his men were professional and courteous as they painted. The job went quickly and he was happy to touch up any spots we found where the paint wasn't exactly how we wanted it. I will also use Barry to do some painting inside my home.

My contact was Barry Wood who I think owns the company. From the start he was very helpful in the selection of quality paint and surface types. He made one trip to show us sample trim to show us what the color and surface would look like. He made another trip to look at our color selections to make sure we would get what we were expecting, The bathroom was a rescue of a terrible paint job done by another home improvement company. He kept to the agreed upon schedule and, most importantly the job was superbly done. It wasn't in the agreement to paint the rear door, but he just had to paint the plastic window grid which had turned an old plastic brown with age, of course after discussing it with us. We are very pleased with the final results.

He was able to fit me into his schedule quickly, coming in the evenings, as I needed to put the house on the market, ASAP. Barry was very flexible and worked with our schedule.

I contacted four painters based on Angie's List reviews for painting an exterior wall and fascia. Affordable Painting came in as the low bidder and also could get to the job the quickest. They finished the job in less than 3 hours. I was completely satisfied with their work.

It was a pleasure working with Barry and his team from Affordable Paining. We needed some painting in our new office; one section was urgent to meet a grand opening ceremony from some VIPs - Barry did a great job in accomodating my request to quickly come in and complete the needed work on budget and with good results. Later, Barry scheduled a team of 3 to come in for the larger job. The team did a great job - work quality was excellent, cleanup was good, and team was friendly during the day working. I would recommend Affordable Painting and will be using them at my own home in the near future.

The price was very competitive with the three other quotes I received. He scheduled the service, came on time and got the job done quickly. He didn't take any money down. He wanted to make sure we were completely happy before accepting payment.

The work went very well. We have used them a number of times and we keep using them because we can count on them. They have good attention to detail and do a very good quality job. They do what they say that they are going to do. They are reliable and easy to work with. I think that their prices are fair. The price that I paid last time was a little more than I thought it could have been.

Barry kept my apprised on his schedule and when he would be able to begin work. He stopped by ahead of time to check paint colors and test his cleaners on the gutters to ensure his plan was workable. They showed up on schedule to begin the work and finished on time as well. The people were very polite and professional. They worked around my schedule for painting the front door since it needed to be left open for several hours. The results looked great and they kept the yard clean.

They were wonderful to work with. We are going to use them when we get ready to paint. They were right on time. Bidding and speaking with them on the phone was excellent. We would use them again in the future.

Extremely pleased with the results and the professionalism of the service delivery. Barry offered to meet us at the paint store to help with color selections. He also prepared poster boards with our selected colors, which allowed us to see the paint in the applicable rooms on a much larger scale than the paint chips. That made us change two of our colors before we started.

The estimate arrived about a week after he came to look over the job. He was able to begin 3-4 weeks after we approved the job. We were not on a rigid schedule, and felt like if the work was quality, which it proved to be, that we should expect he'd have other work lined up, so the time seemed reasonable. He told us the day he came to look the job over that the bottom of the gutters would have difficulty coming as clean as we might like because a spray hard enough to take care of that could take the paint off. Another bidder told us he could get them clean by separately applying a solution before power-washing, but that bid was significantly higher. He recommended a darker cedar stain over a lighter stain to protect the wood, something previous painters have also done. They initially missed a very small section on one face of about 30 deck posts, but they were very friendly when I called and came over and took care of it right away. The stain was brushed on which should give us the best coverage. Overall, the staining and the clean-up were very well done. The company we'd used a couple of years ago did a fairly good job, but this quality I believe is better. The house looked exceptionally good after the power-washing. Very good work and a personable, friendly attitude. He seems to be an independent businessman who cares about his business. We plan to use him again soon for another exterior painting job.

The work was planned and described in understandable detail, working around the rain to ensure a quality job. I received phone calls on when to expect painters to be there as well as when the day's work was completed and what was accomplished and what was planned next. Barry is very personable, professional, and cares about the quality of his work and his relationship with the customer. The work was excellent-a deck that looks great and will weather well.

It went very well. The painters are very knowledgable and they share their knowledge. The work was done in a very professional manner and everything was thoroughly explained. They knew what they were doing and did it well. I highly recommend this company.

Barry was extremely professional. Showed up when he said he would, finished when he said he would be done, and within his original estimate. He even came over after he was complete to review his work with me and make sure I was satisfied. Great customer service,

Wonderful! Always professional and punctual. He cleans up well. He asked me about small details although I always agree with his recommendations. He even brought the perfect "light bright and neutral" sample color and saved me the trip to get swatches. I do enjoy painting myself, but it makes an obvious difference having a professional do the work. Plus, it would have taken my husband and I a month of weekends to do all that.

FABULOUS! The last painters had only painted the front of the trim, leaving the sides of the boards the same color as the house. I didn't realize how bad that looked until Barry took the time to paint it properly. (I think he was shocked it had been done so poorly!) The really paid excellent attention to detail. They were always polite, professional and communicated well throughout the process. AND they didn't damage any plants...I had thought that wold be unavoidable, but somehow they did it! While they were on the roof, they even blew the leaves out if our gutters twice, and scraped down the windows when they were finished. And they were 1/5 the price of the other two estimates we received!! I've never like the outside of our house before, but now I am happy everytime I put into the driveway. Thank you Barry, and thank you Angie's List for helping me find him.

Overall, the experience was positive and the crew was professional. Barry was recommended to us by 2 sources (other than Angie's list). He was everything they said he would be. They did a good job and I would consider using them for exterior painting for the future. I think we are pretty satisfy with the job.

Barry and his crew were wonderful to work with. Barry came out over the weekend to discuss the work in question. We received his bid within 5-10 days. He called to follow up and we scheduled the work for the following week. The team was prompt, friendly, and worked efficiently. Barry was in constant communication with us about progress and next steps. One of the things that I appreciated most with Barry was his flexibility and understanding about the challenge of picking a shutter color. He worked with us to find the right one for our house...making several trips to the paint store to darken the original color until we were happy. A Japanese Maple was injured during the week...but these things happen sometimes when moving ladders in and out of planting beds. This is the second time we've worked with Affordable Painting and we will certainly call on them again when we are in need of painting work.
