Description of Work: Emailed Lucas Updates to see if they could help me out with some work I needed in regards to jacking up a section of our house and reinforcing the area. They got back with me promptly and let me know that they were booked out for months to come. I did decide to go with another company, but appreciated their responsiveness.

Description of Work: I had them Demo the ceiling of my Kitchen and Drywall it along with adding a wall and making all of the walls ready to paint. I expected all lighting fixtures taken out for later use. I asked for the ceiling to be build back from the joists. I also asked for a special patterened roof and molding to be placed around the upper wall area. Electrical Outlet moved to a useable height for counter installation later.

Description of Work: The written estimate I received to install 34 sq ft of back splash tile (tile and grout supplied by me) was $1994.75. I got the work done by someone else for $600. The second tile installer was easy to work with, did a fantastic job, cleaned up all the mess... in short, did everything right for a fair price.

Description of Work: Put in a new shower and toilet with new drywall, tile, flooring, everything. Also patched large holes in the plaster upstairs. Repaired a broken window in an exterior door and redesigned the basement storage areas by adding a wall and moving a door.

Description of Work: I have been working with Lucas Updates as the general contractor for a complete house rehab recently. Luke and his team are nothing but professional. They are easy to deal with, their price is very reasonable, and they get the job done. PERIOD. I will be using them for more rehabs as the bottom line is I do not have to worry about them. They say they are going to do something, they get it done right, the first time. I cannot say enough great things about this team. They have done everything from complete HVAC, complete plumbing of a house, complete kitchen remodel, tuckpointing, resupporting/refinishing sunroom, painting, refinishing floors, roof repairs and more.

Description of Work: I have submitted a report earlier, but just want to let anyone thinking about using Lucas Associates, to do so! I have been and will be continuing to use Lucas Associates for remodeling the house we purchased in July, 2009. There is NO ONE that I have used amywhere I have lived, that does as good a job at a reasonable price than Lucas Associates. I have had them at my house remodeling something almost every three months since July, 2009. I still have a long list of things to be done, to include new countertops, backsplash, flooring, and new appliances in my kitchen. Since this willl be the single largest expenditure, Luke has been working with me - at no charge - to find and price all the things that need to be done towards the end of 2011. I cannot emphasize enough how terrific the guys at Lucas Associates are. I've referred them to friends who in turn have referred them to friends and family members. A close friend told me about the extraordinary work they did for her sister in a house that was over 100 years old. There was some molding that was missing and Lucas Associates personally crafted and made molding that would match. Not only are thesse guys great at the basics, they are truly wonderful craftsmen. I guarantee you will not even need to consider a quote from another company. You will receive the best quality at a reasonable price in a timely fashion from guys that are aa pleasure to work with!

Description of Work: It is with the greatest pleasure I am able to post my recommendations for Lucas Updates. We bought a house in July, 2009. There were some things in the house we wanted to have done before we moved in. Our realtor called three of the people she had used in the past to an appointment time to get a list of everything we needed done. Of those three, one never showed up, one called and said he wouldn't be able to make the appointment that day, but Luke was here on time! After going through the entire house and discussing the items we wanted built, replaced, or fixed, the realtor said she would try to get the other two to come the next day. I told her no - Luke was there, he was ontime, and I was impressed with how easy it was to talk to him. Bottom line - since July, 2009, Luke, Louis & Josh not only did that initial job, I have had them back 4 or 5 more times. As we have lived in the house, I keep finding these I want painted or changed. These young men are totally professional. Their work is outstanding! They are reasonable on what they charge and have been very patient with my "last minute add-ons" on every job. Projects have included building a wall, installing new handicap toilets, handicap bars and rails, widening all the doors in the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms where a wheelchair could go through the opening. They have painted upstairs and downstairs. I still have several rooms I want painted and I wouldn't think of using anyone else. They pulled carpet out of master bath and hall bath and replaced with ceramic tile. They installed medicine cabinets. They have replaced ceiling fans and lights. Of course, they paint evey time they come. The most labor intensive job, in my opinion, was installing a roof over the basement doors to the outside. Previous owner had built a deck above the doors and water constantly poured through the decking. This year they stripped, repaired and stained the entire deck - in 100 degree heat! They clean up after themselves every day - even when I tell them to leave it until they come back. And they chase my dog for me when takes off running and won't stop! Trish took on the job of replanting the flower beds in front of the house. Everything there had died. She first had to dig out wet clay down about 8 inches so she could have good soil brought in to fill the planting area. She used beautiful plants and shrubs. Some were annuals for immediate color, some perennials, and some evergreen. I'm thrilled with how beautiful the front yard looks and know next year it will look even better. Lucas Updates will be the best contractors and workers you can hire. They have NEVER let me down. I haven't added up the cost of everything we have had done, but it is a fair ammount of money. Every penny we paid them was well spent!
