The original contact was made the week of August 12. We had to wait a week for a service person to come to the house to find out what was wrong with the unit. The service person came, inspected the unit stated that the "main part broke and released all the Freon from the unit. He further stated that he would order the parts to fix it - they would take 3 - 5 days for parts to arrive. That was August 23. On August 29, I called Mid-America to find out what was going on....my parts were still not completely in. The remainder of the parts arrived Tuesday, September 3. I called Mid-America to find out when my air conditioner is going to get fixed. During the time that I have been waiting for my air conditioner to be repaired there has been temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. When I spoke to Mid-America to find out when my unit would be fixed I was told that they could not get someone out to fix my unit before September 10! Two days shy of one month waiting for my unit to be fixed. I have a washer that needs to be looked at but I will not be using this company to service anything ever.
Description of Work: This provider was called to perform work under warranty from an extended service contract. We have a Frigidaire window air conditioner that stopped cooling. There was a choice of three companies providing service under the warranty and this company was one of them.

[Member Name Removed] has an extended warranty through Frigidaire. As with any extended warranty we have to get approval for all repairs prior to completion and this can sometimes prolong a repair up to 24-48 hours. The part she needed was on factory back order with the manufacture, Frigidaire. Part back orders are beyond the control of Mid America Service. It went very well. They were prompt. The gentlemen were very nice. They called me to tell me when they were coming, and they showed up when they said they would. The workman was very conscientious of making sure they didn't get my floors dirty. They wore booties and were very polite. He showed me the broken part so I 'd know that he really was fixing something. They were very prompt in coming out. There was this part and they came in and fixed it. It was a special order part. They were exactly on time when they said they'd be here. I have used them before to repair my washing machine.

I have a Fisher and Paykel Washer which was making horrid noises and stopping mid cycle. The repair man came out promptly, replaced a motor, which he knew right away was the problem, checked the machine out for any other issues (which was nice), and told me how I could manage these sorts of issues in the future. He was really nice in helping me decide whether this costly repair was worth it or if we should just get another machine, and VERY kind in sharing some knowledge with me so that I may not need to pay so much next time.

Two men came to look at all four services at once. They told me, in essence, that nothing could be fixed or was worth repairing.

They were polite, on time and very neat in the house. I have used this company severl times and have always been pleased. I will definitely call them again.

The technician was prompt and professional. The part needed to be ordered. The follow up appointment went smoothly and without any problems. The part was expensive but after looking it up on line, the price they charged was in the high range of reasonable.
Description of Work: I have a fisher paykel washer. It's not always easy to find a company to repair this brand. I needed a new cold water pump.

They never could fix the problem which was the chute door on the freezer door where the ice came out. They first came out on 2/15/11 and the last visit was 11/ ?/11. The warranty company did send out another repair company (said they didn't use Med-America anymore) but after the second company didn't have any luck they send MidAmerica out again. This was finally resolved when we were reimbursed for the refrigerator. I couldn't find a replacment refrigerator so had St. Louis Appliance Repair come out and they took one look and knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it.
Description of Work: Came out to fix ice maker. Brought wrong one but installed it anyway. Tried to repair numerous times and at the last visit decided to replace door on the freezer side of the refrigerator and the wrong door was sent. Finally the warranty company said enough and paid us for the pirice of the refrigerator.

Description of Work: Excellent service on my dishwasher i have a high end drawer dishwasher that needed repair. i didn't know what the problem was. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem, went to his truck for the part and had it fixed within an hour. I was very impressed with his knowledge of my particular model.

He was super nice, I was really happy with him. He was honest, upfront and fair. He really explained to me what needed to be done and what it would cost. The repairs would cost $375, I can buy a dryer for that so I did not have the work done. I have used them before in the past.
Description of Work: I had Mid America Appliance Services come out a couple of weeks ago. I had to pay a service call because they gave me an estimate for my dryer.

I was impressed in every respect with Adam's punctuality, professionalism, and quality of service. I am delighted to have found this company and like all their attention to even the smallest of details. Adam was so thorough that he educated me on future preventitive maintenance that I can do myself to bypass any further drain problems.

It was wonderful. They were on time. They told me when they would be here. They called 30 minutes before arriving. Everything was really good. The price included the part and two calls.

I had both a dryer and a washer repaired. They came out, fixed the washer, thought they had fixed the dryer but it was still not drying. I called them back out, they came and found that the part they though was the reason for it not heating, wasn't the issue. They were going to charge me for the second part but after I mentioned it should have been fixed right the first time, they waived the cost. They made a bad situation good and made me a happy customer. Good customer service

I would definitely use this service provider again. They were also the only group I could find in the St Louis area that would repair my high-end appliance.
Description of Work: Our Dacor range control panel was failing. The Mid America Service sent a repair person to confirm the problem and order the part required. When the part arrived, they scheduled a convenient appointment time to install. Both repair people were on-time, did the job required quickly, and cleaned up the work space before leaving.

MAS was able to diagnose my oven problem in 15 minutes. The part was ordered and a week later it was installed and my oven works. The people on the phone were courteous as well as the techs who came to my house. They come with a big quilted mat that movers use and put it on the floor for their tools etc. The tech who installed the broken part even brought my trash can back into the house through the snow.
Description of Work: After having Sears(A&E Factory Service come to my house three times(1.5 Hrs, 2hrs, 1.5 hrs) and replacing a part that was not broken, I called Mid-America service because they are the factory authorized service for Fisher-Paykel. The MAS tech was able to diagnose the problem in 15 minutes. A week later the part was replaced and now my oven works perfectly.

My experience with Mid American was great. They were punctual within the four hour window established. They listened to my explanation of the problem and the actions taken by a previous service provider who I fired for lying to me (the company has been provided an F rating in Angie's List). They examined the stove to diagnose it themselves and then they took the part number which the previous provider had ordered three times but the part was continually wrong for my stove. Mid American took the time to fully research the part needed for the stove and the part currently available. They discovered that the part needed had a smaller stem then the part being manufactured now. Mid American actually built me a part to fit the need of my stove by taking the new part and replacing the stem with one that would fit the stove. This did take almost three weeks between the diagnostic visit and the repair. My only complaint is that they did not call me to tell me what they were doing hence the B in responsiveness but considering they were working the issue and building the part it was not an unreasonable time frame. The Mid American technician was polite and careful not to damage my floor by laying down protective mats not only for the stove but for his bag of tools as well. The stove has worked very well ever since the repair. I will be sure to have my warranty company only allow Mid American to support me for future repair calls. They go the extra step to meet the customer's need.
Description of Work: This was an extended warranty service so I did not pay any money. Mid American was called after I fired my first service provider for lying to me. Mid American repaired my Jenn-Air gas stove left front burner, which had high carbon monoxide output and poor burning function, and the right front burner which would not self-ignite. In order to do that they actually had to build the part for my left front burner as it is no longer being made.

Overall they tried to charge me for things that I was not suppose to be charged for.
Description of Work: On 1-18-10 Samsung warranty scheduled Mid America Service to come to my home to check on a problem with my refrigerator not cooling. The service tech was on time and friendly. He stated that the door switches and evaporator fan needed to be replaced. On 01-22-10 a different service tech showed up at my home to make the repairs. His name was Chip Boyd. Chip replaced all the parts and was very punctual and clean. After the tech left i noticed that all 4 LED lights in my freezer were not working. My fiance called Mid America back and they called the Chip Boyd. Mr. Boyd stated that he did not forget to plug anything in and they must have burnt out. Mid America stated they could order them for us and come back out to replace them at our cost. We stated not to and we would talk to Samsung about the issue. Before we could call Samsung about the lights we hooked up the water line for the ice maker and water dispenser. Once hooked up the water dispenser was not working and I contacted Samsung. Samsung stated it could take up to 5 minutes to air out the line. I waited 15 minutes and called Samsung back on 01-23-10. Samsung told me they would put in a warranty service order and that a service company would contact me. I told Samsung about the lights in the freezer as well and they stated that it was highly unlikely that all 4 lights would go out at the same time. Samsung stated that the service company would investigate the issue, as well as a service company would contact me on Monday ( 01-25-10) to schedule an appointment. On Tuesday (01-26-10) I contacted Samsung to let them know that I had not heard from any service company about scheduling an appointment yet. Samsung stated that Mid America was the company and gave me the number and service number and told me to call them. I contacted Mid America ( Tuesday 01-26-10) at 11:21 am. Mid America told me that it would be the same ticket as the last service they had done and that it would cost me 40 dollars if they found nothing wrong. After having them out and my freezer lights not working and them wanting to charge me for replacing 4 LED lights that some how burnt out at the same time right after their tech had finnished working on the unit I was apprehensive of having them come out to do check and see what the problem might be with the water not dispensing. Mid America also stated that the lights needing to be looked at on the ticket from Samsung would not be covered due to them burning out. Samsung stated that I should not be charged for Mid America to come do any Warranty service. I will never use Mid America again for anything and would not recommend them to my worst enemy. From my experience with Mid America I believe that they create problems to be able to charge the customer extra money.

We are very sorry to see that this "Samsung" refrigertor owner was not satisfied with our service. We did not charge this customer any money for any repairs or parts, everything was billed to Samsung under their warranty policies. We have to follow the policies and procedures provided by the manufacturer's and when they indicate that they will not cover a part or repair, that is their decision. Samsung is a Korean owned company and many of the warranty rules and procedures they enforce on servicemen and consumers are very different than what Americans are used to. Again, we are held to Samsungs rules and policies when we service a product that Samsung has manufactured. We apologize that the repair experience did not meet this consumer's expectations and will continue to learn from their comments and suggestions and improve.

They seemed quite confident they would be able to repair the TV, however, we've been waiting for 3 weeks, and they don't even have the part. They never proactively called us to tell us there was a hold up, it was always us calling them. I have paid $80.00 for a repair I don't believe they can do.
Description of Work: We were promised a service with the demand of a down payment which would be applied to our bill. We decided to go with them and they gave us a week estimate. We called them before we went to go pick up after the week, and they said it wouldn't be ready until the next week. We were supposed to then pick up the TV on April 6th, and it's again not going to be ready.

Throughout the entire process this company was unwilling to give considerate, respectful customer service. Setting up an appointment was on the company's timetable, not ours, and we were given a 5-hour window where we had to be home for the technician. My husband had to take off work to meet the technician. The scheduler told me that the technician calls the home before the appointment and if no one answers the phone they simply don't come by for the scheduled service! I was astonished at the lack of customer service at this company, and hope we don't have to ever do business with them again.
Description of Work: Company recently sent a technician out to fix our TV (under warranty), we waited for parts, then the technician came back to install the parts.

I was very disappointed in their pricing. They were only there for about 15 minutes and charged me $70 for diagnostic, $45 for the latch and $135 for labor. I thought that was appalling. The work itself was fine and they were on time, but I wouldn't use them again because of their pricing.
Description of Work: Mid America repaired my Bosch Dishwasher. They replaced a faulty latch.

MID AMERICA REPAIR SERVICE WAS OUT THE NEXT DAY. THEY WERE FAST AT RETURNING CALLS. THEY WERE FAST FRIENDLY AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THE REPAIR OF THE TELEVISION. THE PRICE WAS GOOD TOO.
