Description of Work: Replaced a defective switch in stove hood. The part was back-ordered so it took two trips. The service technicians were very pleasant and professional. They took necessary time getting the installation right. No problems with the repair.

Description of Work: Diagnosed problems with loss of use of Dacor oven, and when the part they and we thought was the culprit didn't work, they quickly recognized that it was another part, immediately ordered it and installed, costing much less. We had earlier received an estimate from another non-Dacor approved repair service -- very reputable -- for a cost of almost 3 times as much with no guarantee that would be sufficient to repair.

Description of Work: Our 10 year old side by side refrigerator was not keeping items cold on the refrigerator side. |The repairman came out and removed the panel in the freezer section to reveal a frozen coil. He said the coil was frozen because the heater element was broken. |The repairman explained that the cost to repair the refrigerator would cost $300.00 and if I wanted to go ahead with the repair, the $49 service call would be deducted from the cost of the repair. |He put the panel back, but did not secure it because he said this way the cool air could enter the refrigerator section. |I didn't have them repair the refrigerator since I decided to replace it instead.

Description of Work: The refrigerator wasn't working. The service tech found that the compressor was not working properly. Replacing it would have cost too much so we just paid the service fee. I'm not sure the exact cost but we felt it was reasonable.

Description of Work: FIXED REFRIGERATOR

Description of Work: I had Mid America out for warranty work on a refrigerator and had an assessment of heating on a microwave and dishwasher performance on 2 other appliances under warranty. Adam was the technician. He replaced a LED strip of lights, found improper installation of the freezer seal in my bottom freezer drawer of the refrigerator, found the microwave to be adequately heating, advised me on cleaning the dishwasher and provided some complimentary dishwashing cleaner and gave some advice on each of the products that I found helpful. Adam was very efficient, courteous and provided excellent advice and service.

Description of Work: My new built-in Frigidaire refrigerator was only a few months old and still under warranty when frost started building up in the freezer. I called several appliance repair companies with an A rating on Angie's List, but they would not honor the warranty. I called Frigidaire and they gave me three local service companies which would honor their warranty, one of them being Mid America Appliance Service. Not knowing which of the three names to choose, I took a chance and called Mid-America, and I'm so glad I did. Al and Dave arrived late in the afternoon, but within the time window promised, and even though they were at the end of their long day, they were pleasant and eager to solve my problem. They brought diagnostic tools to check for leaks in the door seal but didn't have to use them because their trained eyes could see that the door seal on the freezer and the food compartment had pulled away, letting humid air enter the box and condense on the freezer walls. They went to work applying an epoxy ribbon along all door edges, explaining that it would smell a little strong for 24 hours. They were extremely neat with the gooey substance, and there was no clean up for me to do later. In addition to addressing the main problem, they checked the frig for correct leveling and clearance in case that may have added to the frost problem. It's been nearly a month since they repaired my frig, and I haven't had any frost return to the freezer since then. In the past I've been displeased with appliance service companies, so this first experience with Mid-America was a pleasant surprise. I intend to use them in the future for other appliance repairs.
