Response from Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company Inc
Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed that we received low marks for Price and Punctuality. To add a bit of context, please consider the following: 1. When Tony arrived on March 4 to review the plumbing issue and provide you with an estimate, your master bathroom shower was not functioning. During that visit with Tony, Tony was informed that the handles (which were inoperable at the time) were for volume controls. 2. When the plumber arrived on April 1 to perform the work he began by opening the walls in the closet and bathroom in order to replace the volume control valves. However, as soon as the walls were opened and the valves were visible we learned that these valves were NOT volume control valves but were in fact TRANSFER valves. At this point the informed both you and Tony that the scope of this project changed and that the cost was going to be more than anticipated. 3. On the April 1 visit, we determined that in order for us to fix the problem, we would need to use Delta brand valves and trim because your master shower has 3 transfer valves (as opposed to the two volume control valves that were mentioned to Tony in error). 4. As a result of switching to Delta, the trim for the master bathroom shower was backordered. You were informed of the backorder on April 1 and indicated that it was ok to proceed. 5. In addition, and not included in the original project scope, you wanted the personal shower bar replaced. The bar had to be special ordered as a result of the length (24") and the cost to you was about $170 in addition to 1/2 hour of time it took the plumber to install it. You approved us ordering the personal shower bar on April 6 and informed that it would take 2 weeks to arrive into St. Louis. We certainly did not expect the project scope to change from the original estimate that we provided you in early March. Unfortunately, as a result of the shower being inoperable at the time of the initial site visit we were unable to accurately determine the plumbing valves behind your wall. We certainly apologize for the change in scope and hope we might be able to work with you again in the future. Sincerest Regards, Matt LaMartina General Manager Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company, Inc.
