Service was scheduled very quickly after I called. Jim arrived on time for the appointment and replaced the faucet quickly. He checked the back flow preventer, cleaned it and found that is was in good working condition and did not need to be replaced. After the job was done he cleaned up everything and left the job neat and clean. I used the on-line Angie's List coupon which saved $30. A good job by all involved at Tony LaMartina Plumbing.

Service was provided in a very professional manor. Quality of service was also excellent. I was very pleased with the services provided. Fees for additional shut off valves requested were provided at time of service, and final invoice was the anticipated amount. Highly recommend.

The news I received wasn't great, but the service went really well. The technician immediately knew what the issue was and took steps to correct the problem. He explained things to me very well, and had immediate answers to all of my questions.

Because my wife and I both work, we had a very narrow time frame to schedule the service call. LaMartina was able to accommodate us! The plumber Dave, arrived on time and fixed the issue very quickly. We had purchased a coupon on Angie's List for more work than this service call needed. We got a call the next day saying the bill would be less and to keep our coupon for future use since the coupon would never expire. We will definitely keep the coupon and use LaMartina plumbing again.

It went great, he actually asked if I had anything else that needed repair which reminded me that I did. He was very professional and courteous and took time to explain what he did. The additional cost was for the new pipe and other parts. I was billed for this and that was a surprise as well.
Description of Work: I purchased one hour of service via an Angie's List Promotion and had a pipe replaced that had split due to excess water freezing in it. He finished that and asked if there was anything else that needed done! I had a missing drain stopper in a sink in one of the bathrooms and he had the part for it in the truck, so he fixed that as well.

it started with a leaky tub faucet, then when I asked to replace the stems on the two bathtubs it morphed into a much bigger deal which somehow also included replacing the kitchen faucet. For each step they showed up on time, were very professional and I had the sense they were doing their best work. However, it did take several call backs and special order parts. There was confusion about the bill that took a few phone calls- once the bill reached $800 and I was still having problems. It was all finally fixed.... until I went into the kids bathroom the other day and the hot water handle spins again in a disconnected way. Ready to call them back. I suppose my biggest shock is how much plumbing repair costs in general.

It was good. They were pretty quick to schedule it and the technician came out and the technician came out and he was pretty knowledgeable he wrapped it up pretty quickly. They didn't waste any time. They didn't try to sell me anything else. They fixed what needed to be fixed. I thought that the labor after the "Big Deal" was a little high but otherwise everything was alright.

I had provided the make and model of the leak detector when I made arrangements for the service call. Things worked just as they should: The plumber had received that information and was prepared with a replacement Intelliflow unit. The washer is in a tight spot on our 2nd floor but the plumber was not daunted, moved what he needed to in order to get to the unit, and completed the work. He was also very thorough in checking out how the unit was working before leaving. And it was a good thing because the unit did not work immediately on first try. It had to be recalibrated which I would not have known how to do. When he finished the recalibration he also made sure I had the instructions manual for the device and pointed out where to look in case the unit needed recalibration in the future. It has worked like a charm ever since!
Description of Work: Replaced an Intelliflow Leak Detector that protects against flooding for a 2nd floor washing machine. The device detects water in the pan under the washer and automaticall shuts off the water. The unit had failed.

We are waiting to see how things resolve. I actually have the emails and everything because everything was done via email not phone. I told him exactly what was going on and he identified what needed to be done to address the problems but he told me he didn't have any of the tools needed to address the problem except for the caulk. He told me he didn't have any tools to fix some of the things, and then some of the other things, I wouldn't expect him to have tools like one of the things he wanted to do was replace a face plate in the tub. I wouldn't expect him to have that, but some of them were typical plumbing things I would expect him to be prepared to fix. He said that he was going to go back and give me an estimate. I got an estimate and I followed up with the company. It doesn't appear that the Big Deal was included in this and they said that the repair man did some caulking so that was all under the Big Deal. We chose them because of the cost and the Big Deal. Part of the reason why I haven't gone to another plumber is their prices are competitive based on what I have seen so far.
Description of Work: They came out for the service call and identified a bunch of things that needed to be fixed, but the repair man didn't have anything with him to fix anything. He has to come back but I haven't scheduled him to come back yet, and I recently found out that that wouldn't fall under my Big Deal even though part of the Big Deal was labor in addition to the service call. They said I used my Big Deal and when they come back, I will be paying for labor. He showed up with caulk so he did some caulking around the face plate where you turn on the shower, but I could have done that. One of the things that needed to be done has to do with testing the water pressure, and if the water pressure was too high then they would make an adjustment to the water pressure. He detailed exactly what needed to be done. Everything else is just plumbing in the basement.

Thank you for your feedback. According to our records, our plumber visited your home on 9/19/13 and worked on the Moen tub and shower trim plate as well as a loose tub waste and overflow. Both of these issues were causing the leak into the basement. During this time we addressed this issue by properly securing both items with caulk, putty, and tools. The plumber tested his work to ensure the leak was properly taken care of. The worksheet turned in by the plumber indicated he started work at 8:15 am and ended work at 9:15 am. This worksheet was signed by you. In addition, the plumber identified four issues that needed to be addressed. Three days after the initial visit by the plumber, on September 22, 2013 I provided you with an estimate for the four issues noted by the plumber. The estimate was good for a period of 30 days. Our office did not hear from you for nearly 5 months, until April 28, 2014 when you contacted our office and asked for a revised estimate. I understand your concern with receiving the full value of your big deal purchase and we would be more than happy to assist you on the plumbing issues noted on the estimate from September 2013. As a good will gesture I would gladly waive our service call charge should you choose to continue working with us to address the 4 issues noted by our plumber. I bought the Angie's List deal of $135 for service call and 1 hour of labor. This seems pretty straightforward but they actually invoice at $82.50 for the service call and $110 for an hour of labor. This is $192.50. That is $57.50 over what is advertised. I spoke to them on two occasions to reconcile the difference. The first person I spoke to told me she wasn't good at math and sent me to Matt. We had a long conversation about the discrepancy. Very convoluted, which it shouldn't be, but for some reason $15 minutes is subtracted out of the hour. So the deal should read $135 for 45 min of work. These different readings of a straightforward deal coupled with what I see as poor quality materials, refusal to bid services ahead of time and poor customer service in discussing the details of the invoice are why I will hire another company next time i need plumbing service.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I'm sorry that we didn't meet your expectations and that you find our invoice confusing and found issue with the materials we used. With respect to estimating a job prior to arriving, we do in fact off estimates at no charge for jobs that require 4 or more hours or jobs that tend to be more complex (ex. replacing a waste stack, roughing in the plumbing for a basement bathroom, moving a laundry room to the second floor). When you originally contacted our office, you indicated that you would like a plumber to install shut off valves under the kitchen sink and noted that the main shut off valve to your home is not shutting off. These types of repairs are basic plumbing repairs that don't require a visit from an estimator. This type of work is billed on a "time and material" basis. To complete the work you requested, the plumber was on site for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During my conversation with you, you agreed that he was on site for 1 hour and 30 minutes as noted by the worksheet you signed denoting the "start" and "end" time of the job. On our invoice I explained that we charge a "Service Call Charge" of $82.50 which is comprised of the following: 1. a Trip Charge of $55.00, and 2. the minimum time required for a job, 15 minutes ($27.50) The description of the line item on our invoice clearly states the following: "Service Call Charge (includes 1st 15 minutes of service)". Because the plumber was onsite for 1 hour and 30 minutes, you were charged an additional $55.00 (two 15 minutes increments of $27.50). The description of our deal is clear: for $135.00, you will receive $165.00 of value. In your case you received the full $165.00 of value. In our conversation, you agreed that you received the full value of the deal you purchased. With respect to the quality of the materials used, I'm unsure as which specific materials you are referencing. This was not mentioned during our conversation yesterday. I can assure you our company uses the highest quality plumbing materials available on the market today. If we find the quality of the materials to not meet the expectations of our highly-trained plumbers and/or our customers, we will evaluate the issue and consider alternatives. Went very well and the inside copper pipes needed some adjustments by lowering the shut off valve since the original valve and pipe was too close to the plywood ceiling and it would have been very difficul if not impossible to work on it in its present state. As an Angies List member saved about $20 from the regular rate.

The service seemed to go okay. I needed him to repair a u shaped pipe because it was leaking. The fix was only temporary and I need to call back to see if they can make a more permanent repair. If not I will need to call another company. That is my only complaint. He completed the job in a timely manner. The technician was very nice and interested in taking care of the issue. I had no problem scheduling the deal.
