The Wright Door

Late last year, after researching what I considered to be the three most high performing garage door companies in STL on Angie's List , I decided to go with The Wright Door and boy am I glad I did. They were highly competent, responsive, fair priced. Most of all, they were honest and were the only company that didn't try and sell me new garage doors for our 1950s vintage home. Fast forward to today, having just painted my doors over the past couple days, the doors began giving me problems opening and closing. I called TWG out to take a look and within minutes they tuned up my doors like new, showed me how to tune them myself in the future and shared some door lube with me gratis. The service was provided right on time, the good humor and conversation was great, but what resonated with me the most was what the technician said, "we try and treat our customers the way we want to be treated..." That's precisely how I felt I was treated - like an extended family member. I give my strongest endorsement to TWD and plan to remain with them for years to come. Thanks TWD for top notch service! Received EXCELLENT customer service from Dan over the phone

They walked me through how to make adjustments to the sensor myself instead of having to pay them to come do it. Very pleased that it was something that I was able to fix by myself for free. Will definitely use them in the future when the problem is something I can't handle myself. There aren't a ton of businesses that give you free repair advise so I thought that was excellent on their part.

Couldn't be happier. Such great service and quick. Communication was clear always. I have my go to garage people for sure. Wish all my experiences were this pleasant and productive.

WOW Very promt--arrived about 70 minutes after I called. The repairman knew exactly what he was doing, was finished in about 15 minutes, very polite, and didn't try to sell me anything extra.

I bought a garage door tuneup because my door was squeaking. They came out and did some tune up and said the rollers were not great--I splurged on better quality rollers that would eliminate the squeaking and perform better--that was an extra $20 and a good deal. Then a week or so later the garage door starting sticking and not closing properly. I called and they sent someone out the next day to diagnose and fix it--awesome. A few days later it started happening again and they sent out another tech within a couple hours and he diagnosed the situation and realized the green eye sensor was malfunctioning. They replaced it AT NO CHARGE and it wasn't even their original work. Unbelievable. I'll never use another garage door company.

Quick and easy to work with. Called for a quote, one of the guys came out the next day and gave me a written quote and explained the options and procedures. They sell a very popular brand of door that is available from several installers. They gave a good price and excellent service. They cleaned up well after and hauled the old door away.

I am a huge Angie's List fan. I find that I generally get great contractors. But these guys are probably the best I have ever had. I called on Friday because my double door was broken and both doors needed to be replaced. The gentleman I talked to discussed replacement options, but also said that they could repair the door for a small amount of money if I did not want to replace right now. We discussed options and a free evaluation appointment was set for Saturday. During that appointment, they again went over repair options. Although I was set on replacement, I loved that they gave this option and did not pivot to replacement immediately. We picked a style and color and they offered to give them the "barn door" look for only the cost of the straps and hinges as opposed to actual, costly barn doors. We picked that and an appointment was set for Monday. Their work looks amazing. I am so incredibly pleased. The new doors are so quit and of such high quality. The work was fast, efficient, and cost-effective. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Thank you so much!

He arrived right on schedule and completed the work promptly. He was friendly, professional, and informative. I would definitely use them again.

This is an update to my original report from Feb 2015. Today Sep 9, 2015 I called Wright Door because the door was getting noisy and I was afraid something was broken. A guy came out within an hour and serviced the door with whatever they use to spray on the brackets and springs and all is well. Thanks to a company that goes out of it's way to make things right! And, at no additional cost to me, yay!

The repairman was very knowledgeable and efficient with the repair of the broken garage door spring. He noted the poor condition of the rollers on the tracks and replaced them with sturdier rollers. The repair was done the morning after I phoned the company. The whole process was completed quickly without any problems. I will use The Wright Door company again should I need a garage door repair

Great job all around. Dan was very professional when he came out to bid the project and answered all of my questions. He returned with another installer at the scheduled time and completed the job without any complications. The final cost was exactly as bid, which is rare to see if you've ever contracted work to be done on your house. Highly recommended.

Garage door broke on a weekend. Called Wright Door Saturday morning, Tom was at our home by 1:30 PM the same day. He was very knowledgeable and efficient. He repaired a loose hinge at no charge. He also honored the Spring Special pricing even though I didn't know about it when I called. The door is much quieter and we are delighted. We thought we would have to wait until after the weekend to get the door fixed. I would definitely use Wright Door again.

An excellent experience. My 1957 garage door unexpectedly would not open. Checked Angie's List to screen repair companies as I did not want to call the big name company that I had done business with in the past (felt their prices were extreme). On the phone, the technician described an area for me to look at on the door assembly while we were on the phone together and I instantly identified what he was concerned about: a broken spring. He knew exactly what to advise me regarding cost, I approved, and he arrived to fix it within the range of time given. He was professional and courteous and also made a valuable maintenance suggestion. While he was on the premises I indicated to him another fix needed to the opener button in the garage, and he provided a perfect remedy to that as well. One day later the electric door opener made a terrible noise while lifting the door to the open possition. I called the tech who had been here yesterday. He gave me the direct number to another tech with the company who was in the area on a service call. That tech arrived at my home within an hour, found a minor problem and fixed it within minutes, careful to explain and actually show me what had gone wrong. He was a wizzard. Because the minor problem today was somewhat related to the fix done yesterday, there was no additional service charge. The Wright Door Company has a new satisfied customer and will get all of my future work and referrals. I have done several home speculatiion/rehab projects and they will get that work too when I buy another fixer-upper!! Excellent, caring, and highly competent service professionals.

It went great. This was the second time I have used The Wright Door Co. the other time was our other garage door. Both technicians have been knowledgable and very professional. Both times they were able to come the same day I called. Fixed the garage door and were on their way to the next customer. I highly recommend them and will call again if the need arises.

They guy that came replaced the rollers and noticed that a previous company installed the pullies incorrectly, so he replaced those free of charge with new brackets to prevent any rubbing. Just a really good job! If anyone ever needs garage door service I would recommend them because they are conciensous and do outstanding, quality work! They use the best practices and not every company does. They definitely hold themselves to a high standard of quality! I definitely recommend them to anybody and everybody!

The tech not only installed the motor and the key pad, but also showed me how to program it and went above my expectations by helping me with my existing key pad at no charge. I highly recommend this company.

Very pleased with the work and service was great!

I called to schedule my appointment and was told a technician was in the area and could be to my house in a few minutes. Sure enough - Tom was there very quickly, and was just terrific! He detected what we both thought was the issue (the sensors - one was very dirty) and then, just as he was finishing up, he saw a couple of bolts that were very slightly loose - which was probably the real culprit of my sporadic door problems! Couldn't be happier with the service or with Tom. Best choice of service providers this year!!

Went great. High quality door. Very attractive. New rails. Contractor took the initiative and moved my old opener over about 1 foot ensuring that it would not show through window. Very impressed that I did not even have to ask him for the extra labor (or pay for it.). They were flexible, professional and polite. Scheduled within a week, installed quickly, and cleaned up after the job. Very pleased overall.
