Better Life Maids

After using several other cleaning services, I found the Better Life maids to be the best. I prefer "green" cleaning, and Better Life only uses natural and "green" products. If I ever had to call them, there was always someone available to answer the phone. In the one instance when I had to leave a message, because I called after business hours, the owner himself called me back later that same evening. The cleaning was complete and the maids were always courteous. I did ask them to come back one time because the area around the fireplace had not been vacuumed and the light fixtures still showed dust. Without hesitation, they returned, at my convenience, and took care of everything. I really cannot complain about this company.

We'd had a regular cleaning person through the end of October who was quite good. Unfortunately, she moved and changed her service area so we were looking for a new service provider. We used the coupon to try this company out. Although they did a decent job - it wasn't as detailed as our previous housecleaner.

A three-person crew spent 2 hours at my home. They were friendly and professional. My home needed some heavy-duty cleaning and the crew did a nice job getting it back into shape. I look forward to future visits.

With two boys (one baby and one 3-year-old) and 2 big, furry dogs, our house was a mess of dirt, mud, dust, dog fur, and whatever else the kids had brought in. We generally try to get our house cleaned twice a year, but rarely more often than that. I may have been a year since our last cleaning... Honestly, our house was looking pretty rough. We booked this cleaning around 4-6 weeks ahead of time because of the Thanksgiving holiday (this was the Friday before T-Day), but had to make a last minute change of time the day before our cleaning due to a death in the family. The managers were exceptional to work with. They were able to rearrange the schedule to meet our needs, even at the last minute. I was truly impressed by that, and that was even before the cleaning! On the day of cleaning, they called to let us know they would be there about 20 minutes before arrival. They were perfectly punctual, and once here they were upbeat and friendly. Our 3-year-old wanted them to know how hard he had worked to pick up his toys before they got there, and they let him know what a great job he did! They responded to my housecleaning needs (we don't generally have the upstairs bedrooms cleaning, just the first floor and the upstairs bathroom) with no problems, and did an amazing job on the house. This was probably the best clean I've had, after years of using different cleaning companies. I was truly impressed. Everyone we talked to was professional as well as personable, and they took their job seriously. I will definitely use them again!!

The company is very professional and responsive and well organized. I spoke to the owner the first day and he was very knowledgable about carefully and throughly cleaning. I worry about antiques and wood furniture. And he seemed to train his employees well on how to handle those items. Also, their cleaning supplies are natural and residue-free. They are more expensive then Marcella's cleaning service but I like that they didn't put everything back in the wrong place and that their products are natural. I also like that I can use my credit card and get points every week.

The cleaning team was prompt and did a great job.

They cleaned several rooms in my home and let me know what they did and did not do and what would be available in a deeper clean. They delivered what they promised.

They do a great job, and demonstrate tremendous attention to detail. The customer service reps are very responsive -- for instance, I've had to change my scheduled cleaning time several times and they've been flexible with me every time. They are very conscientious and leave the house spotless... and I appreciate knowing that the cleaning products are odorless and non-toxic to my pets and the environment. The service is a little pricey, but I've used cheaper companies in St. Louis and found that they didn't do as good a job (for instance, Better Life Maids always uses a clean mop head for each house, rather than reusing mop heads all day long the way other companies do).

I got the Angies List big Deal to try this service out, it was 2 people for 1.5 hours/ 3hr clean total. The only negatives is that it took like 20 minutes to set up the appt, really slow process, and then after that they changed the confirmation time of arrival the day before via form email, no call, and had me worried because I thought it was going to be 1 person for 3 hrs, but in the end it all worked out, just wasnt really happy about all the time to book then it was wrong. As far as the Ladies they sent, their performance, attitudes, professionalism, all was 100% spot on! These ladies were great, nice apperance, not afraid to have them in your home, professional, polite, fair, and great cleaning abilities!!! Usually after a service leaves I have to go back over streaks or missed spots in the carpet, or make neat lines in the carpet, and stuff like that, these two young women did a wonderful job and thats coming from a control freak like me, I didnt go back over ANYTHING, it was perfect the first time! Think starting in Feb I might have them come weekly if I can afford their regular rates :))

I did not choose to schedule ongoing service with them because I'd had another company come just two weeks prior for an initial clean and they had 3 people here for 5 hours and only charged less than half the price. That company did a truly fantastic job cleaning the house with all that time too. And they will do more things (like change bed sheets). Their ongoing service was 30% less for BL Maids. I was willing to pay the 30% premium, but not if the services aren't the same quality/quantity.

My microwave has not been so clean since I first took it out of the box. I sent this complement to management: In addition to being polite, Chesna and Ashley showed professionalism, courtesy, patience, and kindness. Chesna and Ashley listened carefully to my needs and met them completely. I wish to thank Chesna and Ashley, their immediate supervisor and any other supervisors they may have; and I wish to thank their trainers. I would like for the managers of the supervisors and trainers to know that I appreciate Chesna and Ashley’s service; I know that it takes a team. Chesna and Ashley did a very good job in representing the organization. I request that both Chesna and Ashley be assigned to come to my house for the near future. Services performed included deep cleaning of specific areas, including a specialized cleaning of the cement basement floor.

I had an out of date coupon that the owner honored anyway, so I thought that was kind and also a good business move. They show up at your house in a professional car. There are three girls all dressed the same and work in a team. They are very professional and came in with all of their supplies, which are all green products; which is what I make when I make my own cleaning solutions as well. So far, I love them. I will definitely use them again, if for no other reason than because of what they already have done for me.

I attempted to get a cleaning quote on the companies website and the computer generated quote came back at $165.00 per cleaning which is very high for my 1,100 sq ft bungalow. Angela, the owner, called the next day and told me that she would be applying a discount since I found her on Angie's List. I was still apprehensive as $140.00 was still very pricey so I wanted to discuss it with my partner. Angela called me again a few days later and told me that if I take her last appointment opening for the week she would give us an additional discount of $20.00 bringing the price to $120.00 for the initial visit. I thought at that point that I would give her company a try. When I agreed for the company to come out I made it clear to Angela that I needed her service to perform those cleaning tasks which we just do not have time for like wiping the baseboards, cleaning under furniture, and dusting picture frames, etc... Angela informed me that she understood those needs and that would not be a problem for her crew. Angela is a very nice person and I felt very good about my decision until the crew had left and I inspected their work. Angela's crew did a very poor job and paid very little attention to detail. I found thick dust remaining on picture frames, our low hanging chandelier, and most disappointingly under the couches. It was as if the crew had not cleaned at all. I was so disappointed and upset by the situation that I took pictures and e-mailed them to Angela canceling future Go Green Clean services. Angela responded very promptly and expressed a great deal of concern for the situation. She informed me that Go Green Clean offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee and she offered to send her crew back out again free of charge. I declined because this appointment was suppose to be the initial "deep" clean and there was nothing deep about it. I cringe to think what their regular or maintenance cleaning looks like. Further, I did not want to waste my valuable time and deal with the anxiety of allowing that team back into my home when their performance was less than desirable upon the initial and arguably most crucial first impression for the customer in a service type business. I wished Go Green Clean the best and I hope that Angela took my experience as a learning experience regarding the training and thoroughness of her crew. Angela sent back my key in a timely manner, communicated very professionally, and apologized many times for my experience. Ultimately, I found a different cleaning company that charges about $30.00 less per clean which my partner and I have been very impressed by and happy with. Update: I was contacted by the owner after posting this review. I agreed to change the quality criteria to N/A because I did not allow Go Green Clean to come back out to my home. While the initial work was poorly executed I do believe that Angela would have stood by her 100% guarantee and made it right. As noted above the owner, Angela, is very professional and I believe cares very much about her customer's satisfaction.

After having a bathroom floor sledgehammered by a guy new to remodeling, my house was covered in construction grit, since he didn't put up plastic. A previous appointment with a rug cleaner for later that week meant that I had 2 days to get the house cleaned. Since I am extremely allergic to all that dust, for the first time in my life I had to call in a cleaner. I went with Go Green because they use environmentally friendly products, got good reviews, and they were also close to me. Was I ever glad I did! When I called, the company said they would send 2 people out the next morning. The girls were prompt and friendly, and cleaned thoroughly. I had a hardwood floor in my bedroom, and I still don't know how they got it so spotless and shining, with no smears. I'm going to see if I can purchase their floor products. All other surfaces were wiped or mopped, including hard-to-reach areas. I can certainly breathe better now. The girls finished within the allotted time, and left a friendly farewell note. Although I could never afford a weekly cleaner, if I ever need another 1-time cleaning, I would definitely call this company. The only caveat I have is that without using the AngiesList coupon, this company is more expensive than others. Since "environmentally friendly" can be classed in the same category as "organic" (and we all know that organic means pricey), I figured I would have to pay a bit more to help save the planet. I wasn't wrong.

I received a coupon online from the big deal. I liked them because they use a more green, environmental friendlier approach. I had her for just three hours before Christmas company and we just had her do the bathrooms. She scrubbed and cleaned every area of the bathrooms and did a great job.

I was very impressed with the level of professionalism extended from my initial call to set up a date to the moment the cleaning team arrived right on time. This was the first time I have ever used such a service and now see why people utilize it. I agree with other feedback, that I liked the idea of the environmentally friendly products. My family has so many allergies. The house looked so clean but did not smell like some of the overpowering products I have used in the past. I will definitely use this service again. It was a nice treat to have the house cleaned during the holiday season. Allowed me more time to focus on other things. Thanks Go Green!

I had gotten a coupon off of Angie's List. I was satisfied with the job that they did. I wasn't overwhelmed, but I was satisfied. I was pleased with the floors. I have a lot of wood floors that I was concerned with; I was pleased with how they did that. I was not overwhelmed with the dusting job that they did. There were two rooms where they didn't do any dusting at all. My understanding was that they would finish any work you wanted them to do afterwards, but they did not do that. They said that the initial deep cleaning would include the baseboards; when they left, they said that they didn't have time for that. They did a nice job on the bathrooms and the kitchen, and I was particularly pleased with the hardwood floors. There was a windowsill that they didn't touch. I was surprised by some of the things that they missed. I would use them again, but I would pay more attention and point things out.

Response from company in setting up time and letting me know what to expect was excellent. A survey after the job allowed for follow up if necessary. The team arrived on time and were pleasant and efficient. Overall I was pleased with the work. If I had paid full price it would have been a lot more expensive.

We needed a good cleaning before a big party we have each year in December. I was extremely, pleasantly surprised at how much time and effort the cleaners put forth. The house was spotless. I walked into one room and the lady was wiping down the legs of a desk that were already clean. They left nothing untouched. The workers were polite and friendly. I've never had the house cleaned so well before.

Go Green Clean gave us a big deal, $60 for $144 worth of cleaning. I like they do not use bleach or anything harsh because we have 2 dogs and a little kid. My son actually has been licking the floor lately so it is nice to not have to worry about that. I was impressed with them, they did a great job. Whomever I talked to at the office was really nice and when I initially talked to them I tried to get a cleaning before Thanksgiving which they said they did not have any openings for. They later called me back and told me they had a cancellation and I took it, it was huge because I really needed someone to come clean the house before the holiday.

NOTE: This is the first time I have ever used a cleaning service. Two women arrived right on time. We clarified how long they would be here and then they got right to work. Generally they did a good job. However, they did not move anything to dust under it, just dusted around it even on table tops. The company indicated that was because this was the Angies list coupon and not the more expensive cleaning so they did not have someone on the team who specializes in dusting. The two women they sent were bathroom and kitchen specialists. Also, they don't EVER move any furniture to clean under or behind it. On the plus side, I really liked the professionalism of the two women and the products they used. These products did the job and left NO odor which I consider to be a real plus. The women, worked steadily and accomplished quite a lot in the two hours they were here. I spoke to the company about one relatively minor concern and they sent someone out to addressed it immediately. I'm entirely satisfied. I have someone who cleans for me most of the time. However, I would use this service if I needed someone again.

I've had to point out things that I wanted dusted better, but overall, have liked the workers, they are nice and friendly and feel completely comfortable leaving my door unlocked for their arrival and not having to be at home.
