Description of Work: They arrived at our agreed time. We discussed my need and expectations. They packed up my excessive amount of fragile nick nacks and glass. It was well worth it to have these items packed in a way that they will be moved and not broken.

Wonderful experience!
Description of Work: Cathy and Pat are amazing. They organized my new kitchen cabinets, and helped set up my office space. I can't say enough nice things in the space provided here, and there are no negatives. My work flow is improved, and (mostly) there are no piles of "stuff" sitting around. In April, they helped me set up my screened porch for the summer. I could not have done it without them. I'm getting ready for my next organizing project, and will be calling them.

Between work and health issues, somehow my home had gotten out of my control - I had stuff stacked up all over the place, and I realized one day that there was no way I was going to be able to deal with it. I really wasn't sure what kind of service to look for - I needed more than a cleaning agency, but not a handyman just for getting me organized. I came to Angies List and found ABC Cleaning and Organizing, which was exactly what I was looking for. I sent an email off that evening, and got a prompt response setting up a date for Pat and Cathy to come over and see what I needed. Since then, they've been coming every other week, and staying for about 4 hours each time. They've helped clear the clutter and get me organized, they've taken donation items to the best places to donate, they've done an amazing job with the cleaning - even moving the furniture to thoroughly clean the area. They even do laundry while they're here! They've told me "just tell us what you need, and we'll do it". I am so happy that I found Pat and Cathy! They've done a fantastic job, and we've gotten through a lot of the clutter that I've managed to build up over the years. We still have a ways to go - we're going to go through all the closets and the stuff in the basement, but at least now I feel like I can invite guests into my home without embarrassment.
Description of Work: Organizing the clutter around my house, helping me look through things and decide what should be donated to a charity, take the donations to the charity, deep cleaning of the house, laundry, packing up things that aren't being used but that I want to keep, they even clean the cat-box! I don't remember the exact date (or even approximate date) they started working with me, so the date above is definitely an approximation. The amount shown above is an hourly rate, with both women working (basically $30.00 per hour per person).

They were excellent. They were so willing to customize the move even though it involved several stops and shifting around of furniture. They were very good.
Description of Work: I used ABC Cleaning and Organizational Services for multiple things. They moved my mother to an apartment and then she died. Then we had to move things from her house to the apartment and then things from the apartment to my house. It was a very complicated move.

I contacted Cathy Clayton through Angie's List to see if she could clean our daughter's home before her wedding...before out-of-town family and guests arrived. Working retail full time up until the wedding, our daughter had no time to attend to a major housecleaning. Cathy came to the rescue! She let me know right away that they would fit her in and were so excited to help out. Cathy kept in touch by email as far as what needed doing, cleaning supplies, size of home, time, etc. She was very thorough in keeping us informed and she and her sister and a young friend came on time as promised...squeezed between other jobs....and went at it while the bride and the rest of the family were busy outside in the yard planting flowers, mowing, and weeding. It was SO nice to have someone take on the housecleaning task in such a supportive manner. The house was sparkling and fresh when they left. They couldn't have been nicer and more fun to work with. They made our daughter's life much easier right before her special day!

Prior to contacting Cathy and Pat, I had made 3 disorganized moves within 2 years while working full-time and trying to raise my 10 and 7 year old children who live half-time with me. My stuff was out of sorts and my kids' rooms were disaster areas because nothing really had a home. Cathy and Pat weren't the least bit fazed with the mess. They knew exactly what to do and did it quickly. I had a family gathering to prepare my home for within about 3 weeks of contacting Cathy and Pat, and they made a point to fit me into their schedule so that my home would be ready. First they came (for free) and did a quick walk through the home to give me an idea of how long they thought it would take, so I could have a rough idea of how much I could expect it to cost (they charge a flat per-hour rate). We set up several appointments for them to come in 3- to 4-hour increments to do the work. For each appointment, they showed up on time, got right to work, worked quickly and got a lot done. Within 10 hours (20 manhours), they organized/cleaned my kitchen, living room, kids' rooms and finished basement. The finished basement was literally filled with boxes, bags and piles of miscellaneous stuff that just overwhelmed me. No problem for them. They also gave me a new way of thinking about some of the stuff I had been keeping: boxes, kids' papers, etc. It was such a relief to have their help. The party went off without a hitch and now, on the "day after", I'm loving the order and beauty of my home instead of stressing over the messes. Life's too short to live with the stress of clutter and messes. Save up a little money and get their help!

Pat and Cathy have very high standards for cleaning and did what I would have done if I had had the time. They work quickly and have given me many helpful suggestions for maintaining what they've done. They especially have a knack for organizing--getting rid of clutter, and grouping things logically. Everything now has a well-defined home! I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Pat and Cathy started deep cleaning and organizing my house in October and have come almost every other week since. Thus far they have tackled a kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, laundry room, 4 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms and part of the basement.

Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Cathy and Pat. They scrubbed my new house from top to bottom before I moved in and cleaned the old house the day I moved. On moving day, the movers had run late and I needed to get to the closing. Cathy stayed at the new house to watch over the moving crew- that was just above and beyond. So- if you need help packing your house or cleaning your garage or you just need to get organized- Hire them. They are excellent!
Description of Work: Cathy and Pat cleaned my house. (They have also organized my kitchen, cleaned the garage and help me pack to move) My house has never been as clean as it is since they have been helping. They mopped the floors, made the bathroom sparkle,cleaned the fireplace, changed the sheets on my bed, dusted the furniture and I cannot say what else anymore because I just leave them in the house and I go to work. They began helping me get organized last summer before I moved and they helped pack my things for the move. So far, I have not found anything broken that they packed.

It went very well. They arrived exactly on time and went right to work. They thoroughly cleaned the entire basement. It looked great when they finished! They were very accommodating when they unexpectedly had to work around my husband, brother-in-law and a plumber. I will definitely call them again, if I need more help with the upstairs part of the house. They charged exactly what they had told me in advance.
Description of Work: I am preparing my father's house for sale and wanted the basement to get a good cleaning. I contacted Cathy and explained what I wanted. She assured me that she and her sister would be able to do the job. She gave me an estimate and set a date. She came by a week before to look at the job and check our cleaning supplies. They cleaned the unfinished part of the basement, two finished rooms (included vacuuming a carpet), a bathroom, a hallway and stairs.

I called Kathy about cleaning my condo which was being put up for sale. She came out with her sister on a Sunday to do it. They were friendly and thorough with their work. I gave them a budget and a list and they pretty much got everything done. Everything looks sparkling clean.
Description of Work: Overall cleaning of a 2bd 2 bth condo about 1000 sq foot. They cleaned the bathrooms, kitchen, inside cabinets and outsides, Appliances, Fridge, vacuuming, baseboards, doors, floors.

Cathy and her sister were GREAT !*! Very pleasant, kind ladies who worked efficiently yet thoroughly...and they were willing to clean how I desired things to be done. Their work was superb......I would highly recommend them !
Description of Work: For 2 days Cathy and her sister did "Spring" cleaning of the entire 1st floor---windows, blinds, woodwork, pictures on wall, furniture, floors, walls, bathroom, etc.The only comment is that I thought their hourly rate was a little high...I previously had hired housecleaners for $20 to $25.00 / hour (who had also done "Spring" cleaning) and they charged me $30.00/hour.

Worked on setting a date with Cathy and had to change the date on her because things don't always go as planned when having work done. She was easy to work with. She sent me the list of cleaning supplies prior to her arrival. I actually thought that my house was in pretty good shape but when she told me they had spent five hours in the master shower I knew that she was doing a great job. I don't have a simple shower - it is a Kohler 10 jet Body Spa. An example of the quality of work is that they were not happy with how the glass doors were looking after cleaning so she sent her husband to Kirkwood Glass to get a special glass cleaner. To most people the glass would have looked "good enough" but Cathy is a perfectionist. Walking into the house after she was done was like walking into a brand new house with the "clean house" smell. I was blown away by how great everything looked.

They were not here long, but they were very good. I would give them an excellent recommendation. They were very nice, friendly and accommodating. I would hire them again. I may have them come back for further cleaning in my garage.
Description of Work: I had just had my house reroofed and there was sawdust everywhere. I called them on a Saturday and they came on a Monday morning. I let them know this wouldn't be a long job and so they worked me in this morning. They moved things out of my garage and swept it out for me. They also damp mopped it.

It couldn't have been a better experience. From beginning to end, these gals were professional in every way but also just great to work with. They got back with me right away, showed up when they said they would, brought helpful supplies, worked tirelessly (and even cheerfully!), were willing to do whatever I needed, work as long as I needed them to, and were just overall a pleasure to work with. I couldn't believe how easy they made what had been so difficult to do on my own. I plan to use them again and again as I work through my house getting things cleaned and organized!
Description of Work: They helped me sort through, organize, clear out and clean up two areas of my house that were in desperate need of attention. Both were areas that had accumulated an abundance of 'stuff.' They divided things into give away, throw away, store, and 'keep but find a better place for' categories. When they finished the areas were transformed!

We have been re-rehabilitating a 100+ year old house for almost a year, and we had lots of construction dust, as well as general dirt, and we needed it cleaned before we could move in. I just did not have the time and energy to clean it, so we called ABC. Cathy and her sister came in and cleaned it better than I could ever have cleaned it, and did so quickly and efficiently. I was so impressed with their energy and their attention to detail!
Description of Work: Cathy and her sister cleaned the foyer, parlor, living room, dining room, butler's pantry, kitchen, 2 full baths, 2 sets of stairs, the guest bedroom and the upstairs hallway of our 2400 square foot century home, so that we could move in! They mopped all the floors, cleaned the cabinets, wiped down the walls, and cleaned the baseboards. They dusted all the light fixtures and ceiling fans. They scrubbed the tubs and the tile walls in the bathrooms. They even vacuumed the soot out of the fireplaces! They worked a day and a half to get it all done!
