I've been very pleased with Schwartz Brothers. They do a great job mowing the lawn and keeping it neat. They have been very reliable and show up each week, on the same day, at about the same time. When weather prevents them from doing the work on the usual day, they complete the service on another day that week. I really appreciate not having to follow-up to ensure service is completed. I also have appreciated being able to ask for advice about what needs to be done to maintain my yard. I'm not much of a lawn expert, and previously owned a home in a part of the country with a different climate and different lawn maintenance concerns. Being able to get knowledgeable input from Schwartz Brothers has been very helpful.

Everything goes very well. They show up on time, the cost is what they quoted, and always do the work as promised.

I did the work myself. I tried to contact them while I was at a conference in Atlanta and never heard back.

Fairly well. It took awhile to get them on the phone and then it took awhile for them to actually come to our house, but in the end they showed up and did a decent job. There were some areas that were pretty torn up after the aeration, but I chalk that up to a pretty soggy week. However there were other areas that were heavily fertilized which resulted in patches of dead grass. This was still not that big of a deal because I took care of my own over-seeding and after a few weeks those patches were covered with fresh grass. After all was said and done they did an o.k. job, but the main theme that I see, and I have to agree with, is that their follow up with customers is poor. They seem like nice guys, but they need to work on their organizational skills.

I never heard from the provider so I reached out to them by phone twice and I never heard back. I went ahead and got the work done already so requested for my refund.

We purchased the deal and needed to have the service performed by a specific date but could work out the timing.

The first time the service was scheduled the gentleman showed up after 5 pm. There was some problem with the equipment that threw him off schedule. It had been drizzling all day and the lawn was wet. We assumed that they weren't coming due to the late hour so we took up the flags marking the sprinkler system. Just as we finished taking up the flags they showed up and informed us that they could not do the lawn because there were no flags up. It took us all of 2 minutes to take the flags up, and would probably taken as long to put them back, but they then said the ground was too wet so we should reschedule. It was late and I don't blame the guy for wanting to call it a day. HOWEVER, instead of the company calling to reschedule, he told me to email them. I emailed the next day, but received no response. I emailed again a couple of days later and received a response stating that they could do the lawn on the 20th. I would have thought that we would be on the top of the list, but again they showed up around 5 PM. The job was done to our satisfaction. My only complaint is that the person doing the work made it sound like we were not prepared when we had the flags up from 8 AM until it started to get dark, and the fact that they should have contacted us to reschedule since it was their equipment breakdown that caused the delay.

Getting the job scheduled took a couple of phone calls and maneuvering around the rainy days, but Brian did a very good job of aerating the front & back yards. And he also made sure the backyard gate was properly closed. I think they are pretty swamped right now. I used them last year and will continue to recommend them.

I used the company for about 3 months. I had to stop using the company because they would always miss appointments. They would not reschedule and if there was a holiday they would totally miss our house. The last time I used their service they charged $700 instead of $70. The guys who came out to do the work were very professional and did great work. Their front office is poorly run and difficult to deal with.

I am thoroughly disappointed in my experience. My lawn had some weeds and bare spots that needed attending so I purchased this Big Deal. Brandon Schwartz arrived at scheduled time to evaluate my lawn. We agreed on what the lawn needed and I discussed with him further landscaping and ongoing lawn service. He seemed enthusiastic and offered ideas keeping in mind the budget I had. I really liked him, his pricing, and his attitude so I told him that I did indeed want to move forward with regular lawn maintenance and that we would speak again in the fall to move forward with the landscaping plans. Though the treatments I purchased were to be applied at one month intervals, this did not occur and I ended up have to call Brandon to inquire when my 2nd treatment never materialized. Instead of returning my call Brandon merely had his brother come by and apply the second treatment - 1 month late. When my third treatment was again late, I called to inquire leaving a message with an employee. Brandon returned my call immediately explaining that as my first application would have been so late in the season, a crabgrass application would have been ineffective. Therefore they had given my lawn 2 of my 3 applications at the first spraying. This included a crabgrass spray. (I do not understand the logic behind this as Brandon had made the point that it was too late for a crabgrass spray to achieve any results.) From what Brandon told me and from the ticket left at the 2nd spraying visit, for $109.99 I received: 2 Crabgrass applications (Why I do not know), 2 (not 3 as promised) Liquid Fertilizer applications and 1 Nutsedge Spray (for spikey yellowish growth in inadequate drainage spots) Likely, the Crabgrass sprays were worthless as established by Brandon, and he told me on the telephone that the company was much too busy to follow up with current customers regarding my request for ongoing lawn maintenance. In summary, for 1 Nutsedge and 2 Fertilizer applications, I do not see this Big Deal as a good value. My lawn has marginally improved over the summer but I am in search of another service (that is perhaps not too busy) to handle my lawn needs going forward and to perform landscaping services.

One guy showed up and was able to aerate, fertilize and seed my lawn in under an hour. After completing the job, he used a leaf blower to clean up the dirt plugs, fertilizer and seed that had gotten on the driveway and sidewalk. He was very careful with the machine around our landscaping. There were no issues with our sprinklers afterward. I'd definitely use them again.

Late in August, I contacted Schwartz Brothers to request a quote to bring in sufficient topsoil to level my front yard, and slope it so that the rain would run down a hill on the side of my home. Brandon responded quickly, and came out and provided an estimate. As I had several other contractors coming out to also bid on the work, I told him I would get back to him shortly, as I wanted the work done in the next couple of weeks, so that I could plant grass before the weather got too cold for it to germinate. Approximately a week and a half later, I called to accept the quote, I had received, and spoke to some other male (as Brandon was not available) . Again in about a weeks time, I called again, to inquire when the work could be scheduled, and spoke to someone other than Brandon, and was told that it was scheduled for "towards the end of the week". Well the end of the week came and went, and the next week came and went, with NO contact from them. Since it is now too late in the season to plant grass, this project will now have to wait until next year to get completed. If they did not want to do the work, they should have been up front about it and not bid the job. That way I could have accepted one of the other bids, and had the work completed

I called to get an estimate and received a call back 2 days after my initial call. I provided my address and was told I'd be given an estimate by the next day. It's been a week and I still have not heard anything back from them. I contacted another service.

They arrived on time and immediately proceeded to aerate the front lawn, followed with fall fertilizer application. The gentleman had to switch equipment to work in the back yard due to the gate size. He again started with aeration process followed by the fertilizer application. When he finished, he attached a Daily Work Record on the front door indicated services completed and were Pre-paid.

When I was searching for a firm to address the settling/collapsing of my front yard (after new construction my yard was settling along the sewer line), Brandon Schwartz was the ONLY person who came to my house to survey the problem..KUDOS for that! He appraised the problem and we agreed on the solution and price. His team appeared a bit later in the day than scheduled as they were catching up after our recent rain storms. The work involved peeling back my existing sod and then filling in with soil. In some places my yard had dropped more than a foot (Brandon called it a real ankle breaker). What first impressed me was the team putting down a tarp as the place to neatly stack the sod as it was cut and rolled up. They neatly cut out the soil and then repeatedly put down soil and manually compacted the soil. They treated it as if it was their lawn. The sod was replaced as if it had not been cut - no gaps at the seams. The aeration was performed by multiple passes as I plan to overseer and fertilize. Again, the team knew what they were doing and took care in their work. They completely cleaned up after the work- no small task after an aeration job. Again, the team worked as if it was their lawn...this really impressed me.

The service has gone okay so far. They have only been out twice. Two people came out the first time and one came out the second time for the job. The applications seem to be helping the lawn and the weeds are gone. I had no problem scheduling the deal and they were easy to reach. They have been showing up as scheduled to appointments.

They came out and did the work. They were on time for the appointment. I could tell they aerated the lawn and did a good job.

We have ton of trees and they picked up all of the leaves. There was an additional fee because we had so many leaves. They did a good job.

Brandon was responsive and professional. I had a very overgrown yard with lots of beds and trees/scrubs that needed to be cleaned out, trimmed up and weeded. Schwartz Brothers did a terrific and thorough job and everything looks fantastic. They cleaned up after themselves and took all debris with them. Thank you!

Overall, I was very pleased. We emailed back and forth after I bought the deal, and Mr. Schwartz called me to discuss what I wanted done. When they came, they had already started work when they knocked on the door. I had no problems with them whatsoever. The only thing I was a little disappointed with them- I can’t find their website with things that they do. They didn’t leave a card. They showed up on time and the people were in and out quickly. I had sole aeriation done and a fertilization and a bug spray.

The service went well. We were not home while they did the treatments, but the service seems to have worked. I really appreciated that they left indication of what they did and that they were there. I had no problem contacting the company or scheduling the appointment.

The treatments did a really nice job of thickening the lawn and reducing the weeds - even wood violets.

Our experience with Schwartz Brothers was positive from the very beginning. Although there was a bit of delay in the initial response from the company due to a messaging error, once contact was made Brandon was able to come to our house that same day to see the scope of the work to be done. He provided a detailed estimate and proposal within 48 hours with multiple options for us to choose. Once we decided to contract with Schwartz Brothers, Brandon worked with us on finalizing details and was able to have his crew on site within 2 weeks (other companies that we talked to took that long just to provide an estimate and then said they couldn't get started for nearly 2 months). The crew was right on time. They were very professional and competent in their work. We liked what we saw and immediately added some additional projects to the job -- trimming and cleaning up shrubs, weeds, etc.. around the back of our house and around a storage building. We didn't ask Brandon what the additional work would cost but assumed it would be as reasonable as the initial estimate. Nearly everything was completed within 2 days. The only delay was in planting some flowering plants in the new bed. Brandon said that they did not complete that because he was unable to find the quality of plants he wanted to use at the time and did not want to settle. He promised to find some plants that met his standards and have them planted within a week. Storms in the area prevented him from planting on the day specified, but everything was finished the next day as soon as weather permitted. One thing that really surprised me in this process was the level of trust that Schwartz Brothers operates with.. Other companies had specified the need for 50% of the estimate up front and the balance on completion. Even though that is a reasonable expectation, Brandon did not even suggest that. As the project neared completion, I asked him 2 or 3 different times if he needed me to pay for the work to date, and he responded that he would not bill until everything was completed to our satisfaction. I received his invoice today, about 1 week after the completion of the project. Even with the additional work that we added the day they began the project, the final bill was almost exactly the total of the original estimate. We had expected the total to be several hundred dollars more than the invoice price. Schwartz Brothers more than lived up to the high ratings on Angie's List. We have already told Brandon that we want him to do some additional work next Spring.

It went really well! I've definitely seen a difference since they started the treatments. They work pretty quickly and they're very professional. This was the first time I had used them, and I would use them again in the future as well as recommend them to others.

The owner came over and we walked around and discussed the all the things that needed to be done. He put round up on all the weeds, and about a week later they were all dead. He then sent out about 5 Mexican guys who came over and got rid of all the dead weeds, and spent a couple of hours getting everything cleaned up. One of the guys, Sal, who spoke very good english, asked me if there was anything specific I needed done. He was able to communicate very well with myself and his team, and they did a super job!
