I had bought a big deal for the service. Everything went fine, one painter arrived on time and the other one was late, they were quick and clean and did a good job. They were done before the 8 hours of the big deal, but I ran out of paint. I thought the price and quality were good.

We called and Steve came out right away for a quote. Got the quote and narrowed down what services we wanted. Very reasonably priced for services. When Steve was here, we asked for a quote on fireplace installations. He said he would have the fireplace company call us for a quote. Steve originally said they could start within a week. We followed up and was told that it would be a few weeks to get it done. Steve and Erin left town and asked someone else to do the woodwork (crown molding and wainscoating). He called us and started talking about finishing a bar which was incorrect. He had our work confused with someone else's work. We had 2 or 3 calls to clarify what work was actually supposed to be done. He came out and took a look at the work (had to re-look at everything since he didn't have any measurements from Steve nor the right work). When he arrived to do the work the next day, he called me at work because he was looking for the wood. We didn't have the wood - we assumed that was all part of what the company provided. Some back and forth to ensure everything was right for him. In the meantime, I called the company again and asked about the fireplaces because I never heard back. I got the phone number to call and left a message. Never heard back. Gave up on getting the fireplace quote done by this company. Painters came a few days later (after several calls and emails - Dee Dee was working hard to get everything coordinated but had to wait on Erin and Steve which caused a lot of back and forth). Overall, the quality is good (there is a small paint spot of blue on our carpet that we are working on getting out) but the service is poor. Would not recommend them.

I did not get my plan for a long time. I asked them about it and his wife said it fell between the cracks. She apologized and sent me the plan. I haven't had other bids. I have nothing to compare it to. I thought it was high. I may be unrealistic. So I haven't used them. The plans are good. They're very thorough. He is a, I think, a very reliable and knowledgeable guy. The plans were very nice. She got the plan to me with the next week or so after I called her. I would consider using him. I think he would do good work. I think he's fair and conscientious even though I was surprised at the price. I have no clue if that price is high or low because I just haven't gotten any other bids. I did question one thing he told me. I have what I thought were egress windows but he told me that my windows needed to be made twice as big in order for it to be considered a basement. I mentioned that to a realtor and she said I got to check with my city or something or county. She was quite surprised. She did not think that was accurate. I haven't actually followed up on that, so he could be right. He was telling me he would have to take the cement and dig down and then put in a window well. If that's the rules now, it's something new to me. Other than that, I can't even say that's a criticism because I don't know whether he's right or wrong. I just questioned it. He is very upstanding. He seemed to me like a super nice guy. I don't know what the people that work with him are like. I would absolutely trust him and have him in my home. The plans were for remodeling my basement. He was going to put in flooring and sidewall on my walls and ceiling. There were no rooms created. He didn't do the windows because I told him I didn't want that if I had to make them bigger. All that was going to be $20,000.

They were very nice, helpful, the guy came out, gave me the quote and gave me the join of what we kind of had in mind. They were very professional and that was just out of my price range.

I hired Remodeling Resource on their paint "deal" of 2 men for 8 hours. I got one man for 16 hours. They were responsive in scheduling a date for me. The painter was asked to put a product called Restore on the upper deck floor and on the upper hand rail. All of the other sections were to be stained in the same color. I bought a roller to be used with the restore product. The painter missed multiple spots particularly under the steps. There are drips everywhere. The Restore product was used where stain should have been used. The painter complained that the Restore product had ruined his expensive brushes so I actually paid him $50 for his brushes. He asked for more paint twice and I had to run to buy it. I ended up with a lot of paint left. The painter was nice but the whole situation was not handled professionally. When I asked the owner to come and look at the job they responded that they "don't normally paint the underside of a deck" and that there was no way to get this job done in 16 hours. I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied and will need to hire someone else to repair what was done.

I purchased their $199 painter for a day deal. I called the next day to schedule. For the next week. Our painter was a delightful fellow who interacted well with my kids and dog. He was able to two coats of paint on our stairway and a large hall (9ft ceilings) that includes are over the stairwell. He had a bit of time left and used that to prime some trim in another room. lt was an excellent experience and I will definitely consider them next time I need help painting.

Steve really helped us when it came time for unexpected problems. He gave his expert advice and I happily accepted because they were good ideas. He was low pressure, very kind as well as everyone in his company. He worked hard to meet deadlines that he set. This was the second project that they have improved my house with. The other, they rebuilt a leaking bay window area in my kitchen. I highly recommend Remodeling Source.

I am always concerned about paint drops on our nice woodwork and Mike didn't spill a drop! He was very quick too. Everything was done and cleaned up in just a few hours. I would definatley recommend

Steve and Erin Zahner are wonderful to work with, especially when dealing with the large remodeling job that we hired them for. We have a very complex job that required quite a lot of detail work, especially in the kitchen and master bedroom and master bath areas. Steve took the time to thoroughly ask the appropriate questions and understand the job. He explained the scope of the work to his crew and subcontractors, so that there were few mistakes. In a job of this magnitude, Steve has done a great job. The quality of his work is excellent and he and his workmen are always accommodating to tackling tough design issues that arise as we work together at remodeling a 1960 vintage home. We have been extremely happy with Steve and his wife, Erin, and would highly recommend their company. We would certainly continue to use Steve in the future. He's professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of residential construction. A+++ rating!!

Mike the painter arrived on time everyday. He was very pleasant and professional and he exceeded our expectation in his quality of work. Steve and Erin Zahner the owner could not have been easier to work with. We will definitely call them for future projects.

He was a nice gentleman and he was very punctual. He delivered the blueprints on time and I really liked his vision for the space. We just chose not to remodel at this time, no reflection on him or his design

In the end, I had to put off updating the basement due to unplanned home issues that took priority. I would still like to get back to it at some point, but that might not happen until 2014 at this point. Since I hadn't settled on a style or other details, they were unable to get me the plans, so I only ended with with the consultation.

Steve worked with me for an extended time as we established what was a reasonable first step in renovating our basement. He was patient & professional as we scaled back a bigger project to simply start with a waterproofing and floor leveling project. He & his crew showed up on time and worked hard throughout both days, installing a sump pump, fixing foundation cracks, and pouring two new slabs of concrete. We had a couple slow stretches of communication prior to the project beginning and addressing some minor follow up questions, but those were no more than I've experienced with other contractors and were as much my doing as Remodeling Source's. I hope to work with him again next year as we continue our basement renovations and highly recommend Remodeling Source for your projects.

Service was performed well. Due to the success of their deal they apparently subcontracted the work, to an individual who performed outdoor painting services perfectly adequately. No complaints.

The work was good! I was out of town when they completed. But they repaired a skylight that has broken when a tree fell down. We had used this company before and we have always counted and relied on them. Their work has always been good.

Your Remodeling Source's estimate was in line with other estimates. We liked Steve Zahner and his company had great reviews on Angie's List. When work started, the staff was very polite, they were professional, and they did a great job. Steve sent various specialists to do different jobs, and he himself was on hand doing work as well. Family members were part of his staff as well as some men who have been with Steve for many years. His wife also helps organize the times of the work, so it's a family business. Steve and his team could not have been nicer; the price was competitive; and we are very pleased with the work.

I was not told the painter would be at my house at 7 a.m. and only stay until 2 p.m., so I was not ready for him when he arrived. I am an excellent painter and would have done the same amount of work with better quality in the same amount of time. I was expecting more painting to be done than what was actually done because a professional was doing it. I also expected a follow up call but did not receive one, so it tells me that the company was not interested in repeat business with me. I specifically asked the painter not to caulk one of the baseboards but to just paint it because I wanted to be able to remove the floor vent cover under it. He caulked it, admitted his mistake, and I let it go. However, I cannot remove the cover. We will have to cut a hole in the ductowork in the basement the next time we get our ducts cleaned.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon. I got about 6 hours of a professional painter's services for my money. Plus, they gave me their wholesale discount on good Porter brand paint. The painter did an excellent job.
