The installers were wonderful. Bob and Ralph did an excellent job. They were very professional. They cleaned and vacuumed everything and made sure the house was left perfect.

The crew from Andersen was fantastic to work with. During the initial consultation meeting, they assured me that they could keep the color and window profiles similar to the ones that I had. The fact that they were so asssuring that they could match the existing window profile was critical; as I live in a condo complex with strict regulations regarding any exterior improvements. Once the decision was reached to proceed with the project, they came out twice to do measurements. Each time that they came out to measure, they sent a different person to make certain that the measurements were precise. Upon arrival of their crews, the workers took time to make certain that my floors and furniture were covered with tarps for protection. It became quite apparent that these men knew what they were doing as they worked very effieceinently. These men also took time to do an excellent job of caulking my windows. They left the work area spotless. Now, six month later and temperatures a negative six below, I view my Andersen Windows as one of the best investments that I have ever made.

Im writing this review to warn others not to buy Anderson Windows of any kind. Our home was built 5 years ago using Anderson Windows. We have 5 defective windows and I have been trying to set up an appointment since Sept 11, 2013 for Anderson to come out and take a look at the windows and even though I have a warranty, they continue to make me jump through hoops, in order to avoid their contractual obligation. I called Sept 11 and asked for an appt, I was told I would first have to email pictures of my defective windows. I asked why and was told because it's too expensive for them to send out a representative and if my windows weren't defective, I would be charged a $250.00 trip charge. Well that is outrageous, so I decided to send in pictures. Well my first set of pictures were declined by Anderson because they said they could not see the damage. So I waited for a few days to make sure I got the perfect time of day, lighting just right, to prove that there was not only condensation between the sealed panes but rust and dirt as well. Taking pictures of windows is practically an art in itself. I was told once the pictures were emailed in, that I would receive a call within 24-48 hours, no call ever came. After 10 days, I called them, and they had gotten the pictures, but now I needed to talk to someone on the second tier of their company in order to make this coveted appointment and no one was available. So now I had to wait for another call. I got a call 5 days later, but missed the call because I wasn't available. No problem, I called them back, once again, I was told that level of management wasn't available to set the appointment, they would call me back. Now here is where I got even more frustrated. They never called back and I called them twice more and they claimed that according to their records that they did, however my only phone is a cell phone, which shows all missed calls. Here again, as I spoke with Ann I expressed my frustration on how I have been waiting for over 3 weeks to just make a stinking appointment to get them out here to look at my windows. She went into a song and dance about how this is their busiest time of year for new window installation and that returned calls take an average of 5-7 business days and that if you miss that call, you start all over again on that 5-7 business days! At this point, I'm irate who does business like this? So basically what Ann was telling me, was that new sales take priority over existing customers. At this point, I asked to speak to anyone in management, but guess what, no one was available. Ann tried to calm me saying she would push my account forward so that I would get a call sooner, but guess what, it's day 6 and I have not received a call back in their 5-7 business day call back. I would be willing to bet anyone, I will not receive a call back. So I will continue to play their game, but in the meantime I'm going to go to every social media outlet and let everyone know that after one month and a dozen phone calls, I still haven't gotten an appointment for my defective windows with Anderson Windows. They do not want to honor their warranties which is evident from the barrage of phone calls I have made to their customer service. Do not do business with any Anderson Window company, they only care about new business and once the sale is made, you are screwed should you need any future service with your windows.

The salesman came to our house and talked us through several options for replacement door and windows. The meeting took longer than I had anticipated. At the end of the meeting the sales person was rather pushy, trying to get us to sign a contract before he left, which we didn't do. Due to some unexpected circumstances, it was a couple of months before we had a chance to review bids and decide what to do. Unfortunately, the information that the sales person left with us wasn't detailed enough to understand what options we had been leaning towards. The salesman came back out to clarify the proposal and we signed the contract. The next step was to have someone come out and take detailed measurements. That person was very thorough. He brought up an issue with regard to the door height. Due to the confusion between the two salesman's visits, we ended up with a shorter door on the order than our current door. The measurement person pointed out that we could match the same height door and still accomplish what we wanted with regard to matching the window height. There was only a small change fee for this, but I think the change made a world of difference in how the room looks overall. I really appreciated that person's attention to detail and bringing this to my attention. When the crew arrived to install the door and window, they discovered that the rotted wood around the frame extended to the subfloor as well. They took the time to review with me various options on how to properly support the new door. They didn't just put in a patch for the door, but they also helped come up with a good solution to also support the tile floor right inside the door to prevent problems later. Fortunately, their scheduled appointment for the next day had canceled that morning so they were able to arrange to return the next day to finish the job since this unexpected problem took a while to resolve. They took great care to ensure that the installation looked good when they were finished and that the door closed and locked smoothly. Very professional crew.

Good news: The windows are wonderful and I get compliments on how lovely the kitchen window trim is as well as the Back Door trim. Very energy efficient. Bad news: The back door never seemed to fit properly. There was a raised area at the bottom of the door that you have to constantly step over to avoid tripping. There are 2 steep concrete steps going to my patio from the door and I am always afraid I will fall down the stairs. When I contacted the company to complain, they sent the same installer to make the repair. He essentially did nothing and told me that was the best he could do to repair it. I am now in the process of some major renovations and showed the door to 2 of the contractors that are working for me. They both informed me that this door Renewal By Anderson had installed was A MOBILE HOME DOOR !!! I don't live in a mobile home Because of the renovations I can't find the original contract with Anderson & warranty is probably up anyway; so I have to pay these new contractors to replace the door. I feel completely ripped off !

Jim, the installer was great, on time, knew what he was doing, and really efficient at his profession. Hope to use him again when we install larger windows, in another part of the house.

It is a national cooperation and it probably has the most outstanding reputation for replacement windows and doors in the country, and that is why I called them. I called their number that was listed locally and found out that I was getting a national call center. Once I understood that who I was talking to that did not bother me, but the people at the national call center did not seem to understand what I was even asking them. I said well is there somebody locally here where I live that I can talk to and apparently they make all of the appointments out of the national call center. So they said that they would set up an appointment for someone to come out and talk to me, but they would not send anyone if both my wife and I were not home at the same time. So, I asked them why and they were evasive about that, but I said I will make sure that we are both here. So they setup an appointment with me for several days later and my wife and I both changed our schedules so that we could be home. An hour after they were supposed to have come I received a phone call saying that they were not coming and that they wanted to reschedule the appointment, and at that point I declined and told them that I was taking my business somewhere else. I felt that was extremely poor customer service I had ever heard of. I would absolutely not use them in the future, I sat here the whole day waiting for them to show up and my wife had to do the same thing because they would not come unless I guarantee that she would be here too and I know it is because they were going to get some sales pitch and they just failed miserably.

s The estimator took extra care to include all measurements, costs and final touches; his estimates were accurate. The installers were obviously professionals. They were able to re-route electrical wiring in the least obstructive way in order to install the floor to ceiling windows. They managed to improvise when the plans were slightly off from the actual situations. Although the cost is probably higher than most window installers, the results were well worth it.

We made appointment for window estimate in March 2013. They did not show for the appointment or call. When we called them, they had no recollection of setting the appointment but we had name and phone number of where appointment call originated. They had asked for both husband and wife to be present for the estimate.

I am very pleased with the work that was performed. This was a 2 day job. Before they arrived at the scheduled time of 7:00 AM, they called at 6:45 to inform me where they were leaving the warehouse(I live close to the warehouse). They informed me of everything they were going to do as well as confirmed everything with me before anything was done. They laid plastic on the furniture and drop clothes on the carpet. Since I have pets and I live in a condo, from the beginning, they understood the pets stayed in one bedroom until the secondary bedroom was completely finished. Once finished, I was able to move them into the secondary bedroom so they could work on the master bedroom. While this was going on, the other team was working on the deck door/windows. This was a very big job since the opening had to be enlarged to fit the new door. Everything was pretty much done in the first day. Just a couple of loose ends to finish up on the second day. They were very clean and any mess they made, they vacuumed it up(both days).

We decided we needed new windows and did check with other brands but felt that Renewal would be worth the additional cost. Contact with them went smoothly. Saleman was on time and spent about 3 hours with me explaining everything and answering all the questions that I had. Within 4 weeks the windows were in and the installers came as schedule and when finished they left the house the way it was before the arrived. We only replaced 6 windows but will use them in the Spring to replace additional ones.

They failed to return my call for an estimate for window replacement.

My home is only seven years old, however, the lower-level single entry metal door with glass inserts, installed by the builder, did not hold up to the elements. The wood trim and door frame and the wood ends of the door, dispite having been painted, rotted through. The area clearly had some problems and I wanted to make sure the replacement door would last a lifetime. Renewal by Andersion's, Maplewood, Missouri facility was highly rated on Angies List. I telephoned them and a sales representative setup an appointment within the week. The sales representative measured the door, and listened to my concerns about the builder's original door failing after only seven years, and the fact that the door faces the west and is exposed to the harshest elements.The rep was great. We sat down at the table and discussed what door would be best considering the ground level placement of the door and the harsh weather that it must endure. The sales rep explained that the threshold of Anderson's doors extends the length of the door frame to prevent the wood frame from absorbing moisture. We put together a door that would look exactly like the original, and that the exterior frame and trim would be covered with a maintenance free product. He explained that the cement would be sealed and insullated to prevent moisture from seeping into the frame and prevent any drafts. We agreed on a door, hardware, and glass inserts and I ordered the door. The door arrived in 4 weeks, on a Friday, and we scheduled the install for the following Tuesday. My overall experience with Renewal by Anderson was awsome. I love the quality of the door as well as the professionalism, and friendliness of all of the employees I had contact with; from the receptionist who answered my call and scheduled the install to the sales representative and the two installers who did an expert job of installing my new door. I highly recommend this company for any window and door replacements. I will use them again.

We did a lot of comparison shopping for quality and price and chose Renewal by Andersen for the installation of our windows. We were impressed by the quality of the windows and professionalism of the sales rep. There was no hard sell; we just received the quote and were left to make our own decision. We chose Andersen and the windows were ready in about 4 weeks. The installers showed up on time and were very professional. They worked for 2 days and made sure we were satisfied before completing the job. Everything was cleaned up and left as it was before they arrived. We are very happy with the end result. The windows and doors look great and have helped reduce the heat from the sun and drafts we had with the old windows. The windows are not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. We would highly recommend Andersen and will use them again when we replace the remaining windows in our home.

Excellent company to hire. This was my second time hiring Andersen. Dennis Wakeman was my sales rep. As before, he was very professional, knowledgeable, personable and helpful. Renewal by Andersen at each interaction impressed me. Receptionists, office managers, workers and sales reps all are dedicated to excellence from my experiences working with them. In addition, the range of selection and quality of their products is excellent.

It went great as they were done in two days.

We have used Andersen for years, saving up and replacing our windows as we can afford them. They are, by far, my favorite company. Having dealt with two salesmen, I found both extremely professional and exceptionally helpful in picking out good designs for my funny, crooked house (none of our window or door openings are "square"; we have lovely trapezoids instead). The first salesman (no longer with the company), redesigned our landing windows, creating one of the most beautiful spaces in our house (another company had been completely defeated by the project). For our latest effort, Guy LaCroix spent forever helping me redesign our french doors both for aesthetics as well as security, and we love the results. Jim Eister does the measuring, and he is delightful. He always remembers our house (and the time I baked bread), and he as much as anyone is responsible for figuring out how to measure our strange windows and writing reminder notes to the installers as to what works best for our house. The installation went smoothly, done by two very pleasant gentlemen who found yet another installation tweak to reduce the number of hinge and lock holes needing to be filled. Mike Sharp came out and finished the caulking and helped tighten some trim (his work is beautiful). I also cannot say enough about the manager, Michael LeMoins. On our first installation (which was particularly tricky), Michael came out to our house more than once to check the progress and help trouble-shoot the trim. He was out again for our bay window job just to make sure there were no unforeseen problems. The few times when we've needed adjustments, Michael is one hundred percent determined to guarantee our satisfaction. The only downside is I now compare all companies to Andersen. Sadly, few ever measure up.

Everything went fine; it was exactly as we expected. The price was a little high.

(See above) Because my slider was not standard size, the french doors would have to be custom made to fit properly and to get all the features that I wanted. In the end, the cost was just too prohibitive for a simple patio door replacement, especially since I do not intend to remain in this condo for many more years. Andersen has a fine reputation for quality products and I would recommend them to anyone for their workmanship and guarantees. However they are expensive and for my needs, they turned out to be a little too expensive.

They have good quality products. The service reps were on time. They addressed our concerns about the installation. One lock was not operating smoothly, so they put in a service call for their technician to come out and fix it. They did not collect the balance due or even ask for the balance due until the service person came out and corrected the lock problem. The work took longer than expected, but they continued until they got it done correctly. It was supposed to be one day, but they took one and a half days. It was a separate service call for the lock on a different day. They went ahead and did the original installation and there was another half hour service call a week later. We didn't have to pay anything when they came out for the lock.

I contacted them after getting window recommendations from Consumer Reports. I wanted an estimate for an Andersen window. The experience was good. I requested an estimate via the web and was then contacted by phone promptly. I was able to schedule an appointment very quickly and the representative was friendly and professional. I was able to get an estimate immediately which I appreciated. Ultimately I choose a different company based on price and the discount offered by the other company although I would consider this company in the future.

The sales person was friendly, very helpful and not at all pushy. The tech who measured for the windows was very thorough. The installation crew was extremely professional. They showed up exactly on time and performed their work with a high degree of craftsmanship and made sure we were completely satisfied. The lead person made sure we knew what the process was and provided good answers to our questions. It was evident from our experience with the salesperson, the tech and the installation crew that Renewal by Andersen expects professional performance by its employees. We had considered Andersen woodwright windows and found we could not get exactly what we wanted, and the cost was nearly the same. We also were not overly impressed with the installation arrangements for the woodwright windows. While Renewal by Andersen windows are quite expensive, we feel we more than got our money's worth. The windows are of excellent construction and the installation was perfect.

Dennis Wakeman was the representative I worked with. He was very pleasant. He came to visit for an estimate once in 2009 and then again in 2010 when I was finally sure that I wanted to go ahead with the replacement work. I appreciate his patience and spending several hours combined to discuss things. Price was fairly competetive. There is a perception promoted by some on the internet that Andersen is pricey and that you are just paying for name. That has not been my personal experience or impression at all. All in all, if anyone wants windows or doors replaced in the St. Louis area, Replacement by Andersen should be among the companies selected to at least provide an estimate and and among the very few to seriously consider choosing.

It went well. The sales person was good, but didn't tell us all the details that we didn't know we needed. We figured out most of the details by visiting the show room and asking lots of questions. The color on the inside was important to us because we had wooden windows and the frame color shows on the inside even when the window frames are stained (we didn't understand this until we asked lots of questions and saw the displays). Since our existing windows were wood with stained framing, we wanted wooden windows; there are only three companies that we know of that offer wooden windows -- Pella, Marvin, and Renewal by Anderson. Renewal uses a Fribrex (?) frame which is very strong; because of the strength of the frame, we could get sliding windows, even in our big windows, which the other two companies could not do. Renewal puts a pine vineer on the frame and then stains it, which makes it look like it is all wood, but is stronger than wood. Renewal seems like a very reputable company. They have been very reponsive to our concerns, and the service people have been very good. The person that matched our existing wood stain color with a stain, and then stained the windows was excellent; they look great. We love our new windows.

Their salesman was professional and polite. He spent a reasonable amount of time showing us his product and was low-pressure. His price for 20 double-hung windows was ridiculously high ($21,000). Andersen's frames were impressive compared to others, but I was surprised that the gap between their glass was only 1/2", while most others were 3/4" to 1". He claimed their 'experts' said 1/2" was the optimum width. However, NFRC.org (the organization that rates the efficiency of windows & doors) shows that the 3/4" to 1" range gives a significant increase in efficiency. I believe I could have purchased high-quality wood windows for the price of the plastic composite windows they offer.
