DOOR SYSTEMS INC

I called at about 6:00pm on Monday April 9th and received a call back at 8:00am on Tuesday morning. They said the tech would be there at 9:30am. The service tech was here at about 09:50am. Now that was impressive. I had a circuit board that was fried by a power surge or hit by lightning. The tech had the proper board on the truck. He had to install new wiring to my wall openers because the wiring was burnt. The tech found me a light bulb on his truck that fixed my regular bulb from flashing like it was shorted out in the socket. I used a $10.00 coupon from Angie's List. The tech was very professional and even looked at my other door as he said it wasn't quite closing all the way. He made some small adjustments to that other door.

The repairman from Door Systems INC out the job done in about an hour and I have not had any problems since. He was very friendly and the price was really reasonable.

The driver phoned me 15 minutes before arriving with an ETA. He did arrive on-time. While I knew that one of the rollers on the first door kept "popping-out", I really didn't know why. He adjusted one of the tracks, moving it inwards an inch or so. I had thought the tracks were tight but he explained that the actual wood framing beam they were attached to may have drifted over time, due to settling, cold weather, etc. A few minutes later, he had figured out the problem with the second door: I had never stood INSIDE and observed what was going on. If I had, I might have noticed that the metal apparatus that actually moves along the chain track when the door tries to close was actually running into an overhead beam! Somehow, that beam had sagged ever-so-slightly over time. He suggested I remove weight from that beam up there in the rafters or perhaps raise it slightly and then nail a vertical beam from above to it, in order to keep it from "getting in the way" of the opener. I felt kind of stupid for not finding that root cause out myself, but the service man sure didn't say anything negative or hint at my "lack of a clue"! <grin!> He gave me the final price on the service. I suddenly remembered my Angie's List $10 coupon and ran inside to get it. In the back of my mind, I thought of how some places will give you a "gotcha" by saying "Hey, you didn't present that coupon UP FRONT!", but no such problem here. The rep took and applied my coupon. A 30 minute visit overall (if that) that went very smoothly and professionally!

The technicians were very friendly and answered all my questions in plain English. The door now operates smoother and quieter than it has in years. I guess that's a vote for having an expert inspect your door every 3-5 years. Its the most visible work I've had done by any kind of company providing a service or repair for the least outlay of money in years!

They did a great job diagnosing the problem and getting the door operating. The screw coupler turned out to be a less expensive repair than what I was thinking. Anthony, the service technician, was very courteous and helpful. The opener now works great and I am very satisfied with the service. I would definitely use them again.

did not feel comfortable over the phone with this provider. Could not get an estimate for repair and the leaned on the arrogant side. Called another provider and service was provided/completed within the day.

I first contacted Door Systems approx first week in June. They came to inspect my house and left a catalogue. and followed up with a detailed quote explaining what would be done. I called back with a few questions and we settled on a style and color. All correspondance was done via E Mail and telephone. All conversation were covered by real paperwork which I received promptly. When the door was shipped They set up a time and arrived on time. The team started around 9 AM and the work was done by 2:30 PM

I have a rental house and the cable broke on one of the garage doors. I called in the morning and they came out in the afternoon to do the work. No complaints.

Service man was prompt, courteous and respectful-performed the analysis, provided a very fair estimate, and performed all work as laid out in the estimate. Was accurate on the time required, and did not miss the mark on the estimate (IE: performed EXACTLY what he said he would- no more, no less).I would use this company again where I can-- I think I was fairly treated by what I would call real professionals!

Took a totally non-functioning door and one that was not working optimally and had them both working properly in about 2.5 hours.

The price was fine. My interaction with them was good. They got back to me quickly when I called. They were pretty responsive. They were fast getting the work done. I was pleased with them and I would recommend them. I would use them again in the future.

They did a very fine job. They even came out on a Sunday afternoon and did it right away. They did a very nice job and charged a reasonable price.

This company was highly rated on Angie's List so I called to check pricing and I was agreeable to how their initial 'service charge' included the first 30 minutes of any labor, and additional time was billed in 15 minute increments so I booked a service call. I was told that a service tech could be out the following day "in the afternoon". I agreed and they said they would call approx 30 minutes prior to arrival. The next day I received a call at approx 11:00 am to let me know the tech was already on his way. I informed them that no one would be there until noon at the earliest because of what he advised me the prior day. He simply said he'd have his guy go to lunch before coming to our house. Not a big deal. I called my wife to tell her to hurry home because they were going to have someone there right at noon. The tech did arrive right at noon. He identified the problem, fixed it promptly, and left at 12:50 (my wife called me right after he arrived and as soon as he left to let me know how it went). She told me he charged her $165. I asked her how much of that was parts and how much was labor. She couldn't tell because it wasn't broken out on the receipt. When I got home I looked over the receipt and it was not itemized at all. So I called Door Systems to ask for the breakdown. Since the tech wasn't back yet he had to call me back the following morning, which he did very promptly, leaving me a voice mail with a full breakdown. $20 for parts and the rest was for 1.5 hours of labor. I called back to get a clarification on why we were charged for 1.5 hours of labor when the tech was only at our home for 50 minutes. I expected to pay for one full hour. Again, he said he'd have to talk to the tech to find out why he put down that much time on his sheet. The next morning I got a voice mail from the tech himself apologizing for "mis-billing" us and letting me know his boss would be sending us a check for a refund because we should have only been billed for one hour. The refund check arrived in the mail within a couple of days. The garage door now seems to work perfectly. The work seems to be of high quality thus far, but over billing is not something to be taken lightly. They did address the problem and fix it in a timely manner, however. UPDATE: Feb 9, 2011 - Over the past few weeks I noticed that the chain on the same garage door started to sag again. On Feb 8th I called Door Systems to ask them to come out and take a look to see why the problem was recurring already. They promptly scheduled an appointment for 8:00 the following morning. No one showed up at 8:00. The weather was not good so I thought I'd give it some time, however at 8:45 I decided to call because I hadn't seen or heard from anyone. Jim called his driver and gave me an update. I can understand weather delays, but I would have preferred a simple call to let me know the tech was running late. The service tech arrived approx 9:15. He was very professional and friendly. He had to do some additional bracing to fix the root cause of the problem. It took him about 30 minutes and the door again is working great. He informed me that they would cover all the work under warranty. I didn't cost me anything for them to come out and do the additional work.

I called at 8:00am yesterday morning. I told them I wanted the entire door replaced...framing, tracks, everything. By that afternoon it was completed. I didn't realize what a flimsy, poorly installed door I had. The new door is beautiful, solid, and glides perfectly along the tracks. They attached my old garage door opener to the new door and it works like a charm.

Showed up on time, told me its better to have both springs replaced because the old one will end up breaking sooner.

I called and talked to Jim giving information my son-in-law had told me about the problem. Jim then called him to set a time to go over to look at the garage door and patio door. He sent serviceman over who specialized in patio doors but also knows garage doors, so all was taken care of in one visit. Jim then called me to quickly take care of the payment for the work.

The serviceman was prompt and did the work as asked.

This is the second time I used Door Systems this year. Again they were the best value from the estimates I received. They showed up on time and performed all the work specified. The installer discovered that the drip cap was not installed over the original door. I ran and purchased the materials at the hardware store and even though it was not part of the installation he did install it. We love the new door - looks great and the fit and finish are perfect.

Called three companies to get estimates. Door Systems was not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive but I believed they offered the most value for the $$$$. The estimator came right out when I called and provided an estimate the same day. There was a lead time to get the doors but they scheduled the installation right after the doors came in. They have their own installer and he called to let me know he was coming and showed up on-time. He was courtesy and did a nice job installing. The caution I would give is that they didn't paint the door or trim. Not a big deal they didn't say they would and I didn't think about it until the doors were installed. Just something to keep in mind.

John was the greatest. I had a very old garage door opener that had no remote and was not made ofr me. John offered several options and quickly did the work. He also adjusted my opener on a separate garage. He was extremely courteous and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend this company. The communication from my initial phone call to the finish of the job was impressive. This is my Door Company for all future work.

I called and they came out same day. They said they would be here between 2:30-3:30 and at 2 called to say it would be 3:15. He was very nice, did the work quickly and really spent time making sure the door ran smoothly when it opened and closed. My neighbor asked if he could come by after he was done with my door to fix his door. They did a great job on both doors and I would use them again in a minute. Highly recommend.

Experience was good. Didn't have two openers on the first visit but came back the next day to do the work. It was very professionally done, looks great and no mess.

check out on Angies List, gave them a call, took the truck by their shop, he gave us an estimate, and an approximate time the parts would be in and when we could could expect it to be done. They got the parts 2 days earlya dn repaired the truck and had us back on the road 3 days earlier than the estimate.

I called shortly after noon or so and Anthony came out the same afternoon. Diagnosed the problem and repaired the door opener. I had another company tell me it could not be repaired and I should replace the door opener. Anthony did a great job and the door opener is working fine. Would highly recommend them for garage door opener repairs.
