Terrible finish job (spotty orange-peel finish, waves and grooves in the floor from poor sanding, inconsistencies in sanding between the perimeter of the walls and the main part of the floor, inconsistencies in the stain, bazillion open areas that did not get filled properly, etc), also some installation issues, and, most significantly, HORRIBLE customer service. He claimed to be NWFA and HBA certified, but was not. I had initially voiced some concerns about the final color, which the owner seemed to focus on, thinking that was the only reason for the other finish complaints. If that was the only issue, I could have lived with the color. He was initially only concerned about getting their final installment rather than coming out to rectify the terrible sand and finish job (which the owner admitted looked like "SHI#" and looked like an eight-year-old floor, once he finally came back out). Sadly, he had to be coerced into actually viewing the floor by the realtor who originally referred him but would only come out if I wasn't present because he didn't want me "pointing out all the problems." After looking at the floor, he said had no idea what happened but was going to send out the same crew for a second attempt (no thanks) and admitted his "ego got in the way" when speaking to me about the color concerns. After getting several other second opinions and/or input from other flooring/stain/finish specialists, we decided to hire another company at additional expense to rectify all the problems. We NOW have a FLAT, beautiful wood floor with a gorgeous finish, completed by someone who IS ACTUALLY NWFA certified. The realtor's office has also dropped him as a preferred vendor if that tells you anything, based upon the horrible customer service he demonstrated to me and the realtor as well as the terrible work completed on this job. The owner had lots of excuses for everything and demonstrated a horrible attitude through the whole unpleasant process. We are in the middle of a remodel and we get that things sometimes happen, but we've never been on the receiving end of such terrible treatment by someone we've hired for any of the numerous other jobs the remodel has required.
