"The charge for an inside backflow test was $50. That charge is strictly just to preform the test. It took the technician 13 minutes to complete. You also wanted us to look for a leak in the yard. The technician spent 20 minutes looking for an issue. That was just a $40 charge. The total bill was $90. So yes we did charge you for the additional work. I'm sorry you feel that it is unfair to pay for the additional technician time. I'm sure you don't go to work for free."
This was all done in a professional and timely manner .
However after a severe thunderstorm last spring the sprinkler system was not working and after a call to the HydroFlo office a service man came right out and in his hand he was carrying a 9 volt battery which he placed in the control box. That was all that needed to get system up and running. This could have been taken care of over the phone and a savings of around $40.00 plus $10.00 for the battery.
Needless to say this company is not being used this year at this address.
"[removed member name], I wish if you had an issue with something we did, you would have contacted me to discuss it. The service agreement you pre-paid for was the backflow test, start-up & adjust, and winterize. Repairs or replacement of parts are not even mentioned as a part of the agreement. You called us about 1:30 PM on 7/7/2014 about having issues with your controller. We were able to schedule you an appointment the next day (7/8/2014) at 9:00 AM. It's difficult to diagnose and repair something over the phone. When we arrived for the service call, we carried up to your house a volt meter and a battery. From experience, both items are helpful to fix most electrical issues. After looking at the controller we came to the conclusion that your controller was fine but your programing was messed up. We had to reprogram your settings and install a battery for backup. A battery will typically help keep the program the same during power fluctuations. As for the charge, invoice number 8479 was for $39.75 TOTAL! It was $35 for the service call and $4.75 for the 9 volt battery. It's normal procedure to ask the homeowner if they have a battery before we use ours. If that didn't happen I apologize. We could have discussed that if you had called me with your concerns. You did pay the invoice with check number 7125 on 7/18/2014 for $39.75. We then performed your winterizing on 10/27/2014, with no mention of any issues in the past. I'm sorry you feel this way. But please understand, repairs were not included in the service agreement, your bill was not $40 plus $10, and we did more than replace a battery. So I do think our service work we preformed for you was "A" worthy. Randy Clapp A1 HydroFlo, LLC"
Recently moved to KC and found out mid May I needed backflow testing by June 1 of a sprinkler system I don't use or my water service would be shut off. These folks were able to schedule me within 10 days, which was good, and their price was also good, $10 to $25 less than other companies in town. The man they sent out did his job well, no complaints there. Only downside is he was a full hour late, arriving at 1:00 PM for a noon appointment. If I worked from home this would be no problem, but it's incredibly difficult for me to get away from work during the day. No one answered at their office when I called to see if anyone was coming, and this HAD to be done to avoid having my water shut off, so I waited a full hour and left a couple messages on their office phone with no call-back. I finally gave up and was heading back to work when he arrived. All was well from that point, but I don't believe I've ever had a company not perform a simple courtesy call if they are running that late. That being said, they did what I needed to have done at a fair price, and the representative was courteous and professional.
I called A1 HydroFlo and ordered up a repair appointment. Ryan came at to appointed time - suggested we check the solenoids on the master valve and the valve in the area of the leak. Both solenoids were mis-adjusted. Ryan tightened them to spec and the leak stopped completely.
I was amazed that the service call was only for $52.
Great service, very punctual, professional and well appreciated.
