Description of Work: I live on a hill. The retaining wall (boulders weighing tons) was built along with the house approximately 20 years ago, and there has been soil movement requiring repair to the wall. Miller, led by team Oscar, excavated behind this large wall on a very steep rocky hill, laid a french drain to divert water, raised to wall to the current soil level and built a secondary retaining wall further up the hill. Selection of materials was by Mark Vestal, and he did a great job matching what was already there with natural stone. They also added soil and a retaining wall in the front yard, again made of natural stone. The guys worked steadily for three weeks and were always polite. They always cleaned up before they left. My only complaint was the noise and dust from the stone cutting, which was done on site. However, when using natural stone everything is a custom fit. It looks great.

Description of Work: I was very disappointed. Yard and lawn clean up, tree trimming and removal of small bush roots was requested. The clean up went well, however, what I contracted for along with the yard clean up was never fully completed. In addition, an evergreen that I had asked to be trimmed looked just as bad when they finished as before they started and they never removed the bush roots (four of them). When invoiced, I explained that the work had not been completed. I even forwarded the emails to the owner of the work that was agreed on to be done and the amount it would cost. They sent another landscaper out to take a look, but the concerns I had in the completion of the work contracted, never were resolved by this company. I only paid the bill because I believe in paying my obligations. By not responding to the concerns, was not very professional in my opinion and I will never use them again.

Description of Work: Spring clean up - clear the weeds, set down preen to prevent weeds coming back and remulching. My cost was in just the mulch and labor. They had a team of folks out here and they got it done faster than expected (and they reduce my fee). I have had addtional work done by these folks also (lawn care, edging, sprinkler system work). On the job, THE ENTIRE TEAM HUSTLES!!!! It is ALWAYS VERY COMFORTING to know you are getting your money's worth by simply watching the employees work like they are trying to win a race or something. An exceptional value for a truly, professional company... Millers is now the first and only company I even call for landscaping work.

+ -1 moreGood service and very nice clean-up job (they raked all the leftover leaves from last fall out of teh flower beds). I would hire them again. Only point to improve upon: the company only called on tehd ay that theya ctually arrived that they would come later that day and we were usually out then. So when we got home we found a nunch of people working in our yard and had no clue who they were at first. Pelase call a day ahead and let us know you are coming.

+ -1 moreGeorge Hayes was a very professional and cordial estimator and supervisor. He did what he said he would do and extremely well. They did it as quickly as possible. No hidden fees. His helpers worked very hard and quietly. They cleaned up after themselves and George returned several times to ensure we were satisfied with the work. We will definitely hire Miller's again to improve the landscaping (plants and grass) now that the erosion problem is fixed. They are more expensive than other landscaping companies but we thought the price was very reasonable for what they did.
Description of Work: They installed another french drain in the form of creek beds.to prevent further soil erosion in our back yard. It included installing pipes, connecting a downspout, lots of rocks, mulch, topsoil and sod next to the creek bed in one location. Had a heavy rain after they installed it and it appears to be working well.
