Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I called in the morning and they were able to send some one out in less than 2 hours, even though it wasn't an emergency. After looking at the job, I received an estimate and a description of the work that would be done and different scenarios that could happen after he got the pipe cut. After agreeing to the job, he went and got a few supplies and came back to do the work the same day. The job ended up taking a shorter time than estimated so the final price was about $200 less than the estimate, which is always nice. The hourly rate does seem to be bit high compared to others plumbing companies that I called, but they were able to come out the same day. He gladly accepted the Angie's List coupon so that was nice as well. I was very pleased with John and his work. He was willing to work with me on the price and we were able to save a little on supplies without compromising any of the work. We tested the pipes to make sure everything looked good and their work comes with a 6 month guarantee.

Great! The plumber called to say he was on his way. He arrived on time, finished quickly and cleaned up after himself. He also gave me some great advice about my kitchen garbage disposal.

Successful so far! The technician, Thomas, was kind and thorough. However he accidentally left some footprints on the carpet. Sandy, the production manager, came right out and called the carpet cleaners to come fix it. To me, things like this happen sometimes. It's how they're handled that makes a difference.

Chris was polite, efficient and took the time to explain, in layman's terms, the issues he was dealing with and his efforts to resolve them.

They came out quickly at first, but I was misled by diagnostic fee. Usually, they charge 40 to come and diagnose, then if you get the work done they take that off the price. Since they needed to remove a toilet, they told me it was 120 to diagnose. I did not realize 'til the final bill though that this does not get taken off when you get the work done. They came on Monday, and instead of just doing the job they were supposed to come back Tuesday. Then it got put off 2 more times. I believe it was Thurs. or Fri. before they came out, telling me he was sick or they had a commercial job. I had to get pushy to get them back to finish. The office offered me 15% off because they kept putting the job off, but it kind of evened out when you consider the full diagnostic fee. This is the first time they did this, so I hope its an exception. In general, they are good, but pricey. I would trust them with complex projects, but be prepared to pay for it.

They were later arriving then they originally had said, but they did have the courtesy to call to let me know they were running late. We are pleased with the work they did.

Very pleased. The plumber arrived within a half an hour of my phone call (on a Saturday afternoon, no less) and he was very friendly. We showed him the trouble and he was done within an hour. None of the debris from the contents of the pipe were left on our front yard, and he was very neat and tidy.

He was very prompt, nice and courteous. He had to run out to get a part and was quick to come back. He gave me a 6 month warranty and cleaned up nicely after himself.

Great job. Explained the price structure in detail and gave me a quote without any of the "extras" so many companies love to add on. Due to possible problems with the length of the lateral drain and the estimated distance from the bathroom to the clog, he said there would be an extra charge for anything over the first 100 feet of unclogging. He told me before he began the work as part of explaining his bid, so I was aware and fine with that. I accepted the bid right then and there and he started doing the work within 15 minutes. He went over the 100 feet, but not by much, maybe about 25 feet, so he decided not to charge me the extra charges for going over the 100. Did break a tile having to remove the toilet, but with the way the toilet was connected to the floor, didn't have a choice in the situation. Could also have been better with the clean up afterward, but overall, I'm very happy and highly recommend.

I got the bright idea to empty an expired box of quick-cooking tapioca down my drain. I turned on the garbage disposal and flushed some water behind it, but evidently not enough. It was clogged. I tried plunging the sink (blocked one side first, then plunged) on both sides. Used a harsh chemical to try and un-clog, nothing worked. Shut off my water main and took the pipes apart from under the sink back to the main water pipe, and everything was clear. I knew at that point I had to call the professionals in. Roto-Rooter was there within 90 minutes, gave me an estimate of $159 for the first hour, worked almost an hour and finally got it unclogged. That tapioca was a nightmare! Paul, the technician, was polite and professional. They did a great job, unlike me, who ruined 7 towels, a shirt, and my only pair of jeans without holes trying to get the sink unclogged!

Discovered problem on a Sunday. Water was leaking under sink where a solder joint had failed. Could not locate shutoffs to sink, so only other option would have been to cut off water to entire house. When plumber arrived he quoted a price of $238 to replace both valves under the sink which seemed very high. I accepted that quote. The leak must have been happening for a long time because there was mold growing in vanity under the sink. I suggested the best solution was to remove vanity and counter top and plumber agreed. Entire job took about an hour. Plumber did not charge extra for removing vanity and countertop. Taking this into consideration, price seems reasonable.

I was able to set appt. on their web-site for late hours (5-8 PM), and was called approx. 1 hr. before plumber came to house. Work was explained and completed in short time. Very professional, was even told that the outside main water did not need to be turned off. I should have called this company before I had some other plumbing work done in bathroom.

As soon as we called Roto Rooter, they immediately sent someone out and Mike was here within a half hour. He told us immediately what the hourly rate was ($194 first hour) and that the work would probably be done in one hour. He was very courteous and easy to work with; he didn't push us to get more service (e.g. clearing floor drain for an extra $114) and gave us good advice to avoid these problems in the future. I think it was a fair price, but I never bothered to shop around.

I think they do quality work and they are always friendly. The man that was at the house was clean and made sure to clean up after the job was complete. He was also on time and worked very hard to get the job done the right way.

Called and asked for approximate price. They refused...said they would come out and give an estimate. Told them I did not want them to come out without giving me some idea how much it would cost. They refused.

My call was handled by a very friendly receptionist. She told me that they could have someone come to my house within two hours. I called at 9AM and the plumber arrived around 10:15. He was also very courteous and extremely efficient. In a matter of minutes, he cleaned the drain and the work area. He accepted my debit card as payment and did not try to guilt me into buying their products. He also provided advice on how to prevent future clogs. The service was a bit pricey, but I would definitely use their service again for their speed, efficiency and customer-friendly approach.

Discovered basement floor drain was backed-up; called company. They were very responsive - worked around my schedule (they were willing to come out immediately "at no extra charge" if necessary). They gave me a 2 hour window and called when they were on the way. They unclogged main outside sewer line - which was difficult due to tree branches apparently stuck in the drain and blocking the way. They also cleaned out the outside basement stairwell drain and inside floor drain - they washed away all the gunk that had backed up and advised us how to clean it and maintain the drains properly. They did do a good job. My only complaint is that I feel the price was excessive for the work done. They did give a quote to my husband before they started working - he unfortunately misheard them. They quoted $149 for the main line, then $114 for each drain after that (my husband thought it was just $149 + 114). Probably won't hire them again simply because of the price.

It was fine. They were there within one hour of my phone call and the technician checked with his supervisor before beginning the job. Since it was a temporary back-up and was flowing fine when he arrived, he wanted advice before he cabled the line.

I called Roto-Rooter on a Tuesday and asked if I could have a Thursday appointment. They were very polite and gave me a Thursday morning time of between 8am and noon. If I remember correctly, Roto-Rooter dispatch called sometime Wednesday and told me they would have someone at my home between 8:15 and 8:30 on Thursday. Howard showed up at approximately 8:10. He introduced himself and was very polite and professional. After I showed him the problem, Howard gave me a price estimate of 1 hour labor + parts. He explained to me which parts may or may not be needed. After my approval, he promptly began work and was finished within the 1 hour time that he estimated. When the work was completed, Howard explained the work he had done, each item on the bill and my warranty for the work. This was a simple plumbing job, but it was done well.

I would use Roto-Rooter for sewer cleaning only.

I've used them before and I think they're very good. Their workers are always polite.

They said they would come between 8am and 10am. When we called them, they said they were running late and would not be there till 12:30. To me that is bad service. I scheduled my time with them because they said they were available Monday morning. Otherwise I would have gone with another plumber. So it was a waste of time and another day with a leaking shower.

They were polite and professional! I did not have to wait that long for him to come out. He knew what he was doing and answered all of our questions. He offered a product to help keep the drain clean but was not pushing it. He said that this company does background checks and gives proper training. They're not the cheapest, but we wanted somebody who was experienced and reliable, and we were very pleased with what we got. And, they do work nights and weekends unlike our regular plumber!

I feel that the replacement cost was high. They charged a service call when they came out on Wednesday, then again when they came to replace the toilet over the weekend. When I called to complain about the weekend cost they did send me a check refunding Wednesday's service call fee.

Very satisfied, our serviceman went up on the roof, and inserted the camera from there, filming the progress of the camera through the system and making comments on the tape of what we were seeing. We were relieved that there appeared to be no noticeable leaks. He also suggested that we purchase a special drain cleaner to get rid of a small buildup of soap, fat, etc. in sewers.
