Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

They fixed the problem on time. I thought they were little pricey, but I did not have the plumbing work done for years, so that might be a little unfair. I have used their service before. They are punctual and knowledgeable. I would use their service in the future too.

The quality of the work was good. The toilet was unstopped and the faucet was 98% fixed. However, the price was much too high for what he did. Bob was courteous and did explain what he was doing. He was neat. He did give and estimate of the work to be done, but it was about $200 cheaper than the actual cost.

They were very responsive and got me scheduled faster than I could believe. Working with my schedule was not a problem. The serviceman was there early, got the job done quickly and efficiently.

They did an excellent job! They guy who came out was courteous and quick.

My experience with Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services Company was excellent. The young man that came out was very meticulous in assessing the problem. We had a major flood in the basement and so I called them thinking that it was caused due to a clogged drain. However, he diagnosed it to be a problem with the sewer company. That put a very different light in terms of the taking responsibility for the repair. He also video tapped the problem to get the sewer company cover the work for us. He was very good. His prices were pretty standardized; it was acceptable.

It went very well. Called around 1pm; receptionist said they would come in the next 2 hours. Received phone call from service man within 1/2 hour, and he arrived within 15 minutes. Very polite and straight-talking. informed me up-front about costs. used his own router-snake equipment powered from an extension cord into our house to snake in sewer pipe from the street. He worked at that for over an hour and a half.

He was prompt and performed the service on Christmas day!

Called company, they said the service tech could come within the hour. Did not/would not quote price for service over the phone; said service tech gives price when on site (this seems like a ploy to have the service tech on site and then gouge on price). Service tech showed up in about 45 minutes. Quoted price of $199 to clean and guarantee for 30 days. Told service tech I had another quote for $150 (which I did but that company could not come today) and he matched the price but would not give the 30 day guarantee. Cleared clog within 15 - 30 minutes. I would use company again, but they would not be not my first choice. Many companies will quote price over the phone this company will not, and their price seems high. Considering job took less than 1 hour it seems that the tech could have included the guarantee.

Monday evening found water leaking under sink. Call was made to Roto-Rooter office and appointment was made for the Tuesday morning. I was called Tuesday morning with the name of the plummer that would be arriving and the approximate arrival time. Bob arrived promptly at specified time, was very polite and professional. He gave an estimate and then proceeded to fix the leaky pipe and cleaned the drain. He cleaned up after himself when he was finished.

From the time I called to the time the gentleman came to my door, all the right questions were asked so we were both prepared for what needed to happen. When done, he gave me an outline of vulnerabilities the new house might have, what I might do to maintain the lines, and a thorough rundown of what he'd done that day. He was polite and careful, and I felt safe with him in my home.

Prior to Roto-rooter, I had another plumber fix a break in the pipe, but that plumber didn't catch all the breaks/leaks and didn't get a permit for the work (which is illegal in St. Louis). Roto-rooter replaced all of the cast iron pipes with PVC pipes, and they did more work for the same amount of money as the first plumber. Moreover, they were incredibly nice and respectful with my house. The first plumber left the old concrete from my basement floor in my yard (unknown to me at the time), whereas Roto-rooter carried out the old concrete by hand to dispose of it. I am so happy I chose Roto-rooter to fix this major problem. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

It went just fine. He gave me some good advice. He showed up time and was professional. They are very dependable and do good work. This is who I call now for my plumbing needs. They always fix it right.

They were way too expensive! They quoted me $1,500 first, but eventually we settled on $1,000. The upside, they came out on a Saturday. They sent out two guys, one of whom had a license, the other of whom had the knowledge.

It was not the greatest. They unclogged the sink, but in the process, they damaged the pipe underneath the sink. I had to call them back twice to fix the leak that they caused, which they never quite did.

Called Saturday after 7PM & the tech arrived within 30-45 minutes. The service was quick and professional, which was important since my problem happened on Saturday and I couldn't wait until Monday to fix the problem (The backup was at my office and needed to be fixed before my staff arrived Monday). They are, in my approximation, nearly double the price of a typical "M-F 8-5" plumbing company. I paid $95/hour to a normal plumber and these guys net over $200/hour. I was willing to pay the price because I had no good alternatives, but always beware you will be paying more than you have to. The tech said all prices were "coded" in the computer with fixed prices. He thought my toilet had blown it's wax ring and said the coded price to replace it was $209! I told him I could do it myself, and then he found a way to "go around the system" and could do it for $109. I just needed to question the job to save 1/2. On the positive side, he did pull the toilet and found that their was indeed no problem with the wax ring, so he didn't charge me for that. If you watched the "Undercover Boss" episode featuring Roto Rooter, you know that the individual techs have pricing flexibility. I suspect if I started to turn them away after receiving the $418 bid to clean out 2 drains, the tech would have lowered the price on the spot to get the job. Perhaps they have to have super-high margins because of their cost structure, but bottom line is.....1) you're going to pay a lot, 2) they are professional and very responsive. Use them if it's an emergency.

They were good and we paid a reasonable price.

I used a coupon that I received in the mail and got a good discount. Appointment was set up on short notice, and they had no problem meeting my schedule. The technician was prompt and courteous. He explained my responsibilities as a homeowner for keeping the sewer line clean (as opposed to what the sewer company is responsible for). I was satisfied with the timeliness, quality, and price of this service.

The first appointment I waited all day and they did not show up and called to reschedule about 3pm after not making an 8am start time. The second appointment the person showed up on time but was very put out because I wanted a whole house plumbing inspection. He checked two items that I had of a list of concerns, told me there was no problems and I was wasting his time and left my home. I really needed the whole house plumbing inspection I asked for immediately. Forty minutes after he left my house I had a flood in the second floor bathroom, the master shut off valve had been locked open with no way to shut it off. The toilet bowl had sprung a leak. I knew that something was wrong but I didn't know what, I was hoping that the plumber would be able to tell me everything that wasn't working correctly.

One area of our basement was flooded. The technician came out and tried to assess the problem. Although it was not a plumbing issue, the tech shop vacuumed all of the water and made a suggestion of who to contact for more help. The service was incredibly professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

I called Roto Rooter midday and received a call back within 30 minutes telling me that a plumber could be at my house in an hour. The plumber arrived right on time and completed the work in about 45 minutes. Very fast and professional service - new toilet was installed and working within 3 hours of my initial call.

They were here in less than an hour. They explained all parts of the work and did a great job of telling me what I needed now and what I might need in the future. The work was finished quickly and overall the customer service was excellent.

Appeared to be very thorough and showed me the roots cut and removed.
