Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I placed the trouble call the evening before I schedule the service. The company sent me a confirmation by e-mail and called about one hour prior to the technician's arrival. He arrived on time and completed the job in an expeditious manner. He took pains to avoid making a mess. He was very friendly, thorough, and professional and completed the job promptly. I have used Roto-Rooter in the past and will continue to use them in the future.

The man was there in 2 hours and fixed the problem. Also there are coupons on the internet.

They came out and fixed part of the problem then had to come back out refix another portion. We also needed the sump pump fixed and did not seem to want to do that so we called another plumber. They fixed the portion of the sewer line but did not clean the rest of the pipe out so it backed up again and we had to call them back again. There was a lot of huffing about fixing the sump pump. I think they might be ok if you have a basic sink clog. They did come out the very next day.

Everything worked great and I think it was expensive but it was Christmas Eve and I had to get it done. They did unclog the toilet and it worked great, they fixed it perfectly. They also fixed our other toilet that we didn't need them to fix in our other bathroom. In addition to coming and fixing our primary problem of unclogging our toilet upstairs. The other toilet had a leak in the shut off valve.

After 5:00 pm on Tuesday night following several days of precipitation we discovered that water was coming up between the basement floor and the foundation. Other cracks on the basement floor were moist. We discovered that the sump was filled with water to the brim and was within a fraction of an inch of overflowing. The water coming in between the floor and the foundation was running over the floor with only a small portion of it going down the floor drain. We checked Angies list for plumbers and discovered that none of the first 20 or so plumbers worked after 5.00pm or on weekends. We found Roto-Rooter in the Yellow Pages, noted that they did evening and emergency work and then checked Angies list for them, specifically. They had good ratings so we called them. They first said that they would at our home between 11:00pm and 1:00am. They later said that it would be the following day before they could be there. When we explained the circumstances with water continuing to come in, they agreed to try to find someone that could come that evening. A few minutes later they called again and said that someone was on the way. He arrived in 20 minutes or so. He checked the inflow of the water and then went to check the sump pump. He told us the pump was not working and checked his truck to see if he had a suitable replacement. He did and installed it right away. He remained at the house until he determined that the pump was working properly.

The technician was extremely prompt- he arrived within 30 minutes of our phone call. After unclogging the drain, the area was left clean. Wet, yes, but clean. Roto Rooter was our 4th call. The first three "Emergency 24-hour" plumbers refused to make a service call on Saturday

Went great. There isn't one thing I would change about the way they handled our service.

I was frustrated on the installation of a kitchen sink and called these guys to do the work - at any cost - since I wanted the project finished. A young man showed up, looked around and gave me a bid that I thought was high, but I wanted the work completed so I agreed to pay what he quoted. After he started, he said he couldn't figure out how to complete the piping, hooking up a disposal and second bowl to a drain line. My non-plumber son dropped by and suggested a way that it could be completed. OH yeah! was his response....so he did the work the way my son designed it. It has been reliable, but I was totally unimpressed with the job....a "professional" that couldn't figure out how to do the job, and the job took hours to complete, since he was stumped on what to do. My last experience here.

The larger part of the work has been scheduled for next week Friday if all goes well. There was confusion over the work but I got that fixed talking to the general manager.

great. the service technician was on there withing 10 minutes of them calling me back. he was professional, friendly and was very quiick service. He was there approx 45 minutes total and drain is unclogged and working properly.

They did a good job. They didn't charge any extra for coming out on a weekend, they have a basic charge for that. They came when they said they would.

I live in a neighborhood where we have a lot of mature trees and so the roots tend to get into the pipes, searching for water especially with that dry summer we had with no rains and so they had to get in there and take the machine and roto-root out all the pipes so that you can do your laundry and it does not back up into your basement. They are such a well-known name brand so for having that done, I did not even compare it to other places, just the one that I go to. When you have a basement full of water, you want someone to get it done. They came out right away on that same day when I called them. They were very professional. They came in wearing booties on their feet and they even cleaned up the mess in the basement and they put up protectors over anything in the area because when they were drilling down there. There could be some back slush of whatever so they covered my washer and dryer and things in the area so that no slop gets thrown onto it. They have a good guarantee. Within six months if it backed up again, they will not charge you again.

Placed the call...got a quick response...the technician decided that a specialized piece of equipment was necessary to perform the job. Discussed pricing then scheduled for the same afternoon (late 4-7pm). Wound up re-scheduling due to weather/darkness/convenience issues on my part. They came the next dayand we agreed upon a price $350 per hr...1 hr min.....which I thought was rather expensive...but was told it is usually $600 min for this service so I was getting a break. The men did the job in about 45 minutes. So far no problems, but will need a good rain to see if it really was effective. They gave a 30 day warranty on the work performed. I felt satisfied with the work, just wish it wasn't so espensive.

It's too soon to tell but the drains appear to be functioning

Couldn't get things fixed on Saturday, but everything was taken care of on Monday.

Excellent, he snaked the pipes, recommended having a camera used, which we did. Timely, came quickly, serviced fast and expedient.

The final cost was exactly what he said it would be and he checked carefully to be sure the problem was solved Good experience and will use them again.

The job was completed by Roto-Rooter and it was explained to us that we definitely needed a company for the cleanup. We cannot thank that young man enough for telling us to hire professionals. Everything was explained to us step by step. I cannot say anything except we were so thankful for Roto-Rooter and, if needed again, they would be the first company we would call.

They did a wonderful job. They were fantastic. They were timely and fairly priced. The guy who came out was well spoken, literate, attentive, and he cleaned up very well when he left. It was the ultimate mark of a good contractor. The only way we knew he had been there was that the problem was fixed. He worked quickly and efficiently.

Their service was very good. This was the only time that we had them and everything went well.

Roto-Rooter showed up within two hours after I called them. The service technician, Tim (#515), was excellent! Not only was he courteous and efficient, he also showed me how the previously plumbing work beneath the sink was not performed correctly and explained what to watch for in the future. The Angie's List coupon was also a great help. I will definitely be requesting for Tim by name for future service calls from Roto-Rooter.

My bathtub had been draining slowly for a couple of weeks but I had put off calling a plumber to fix it, then on a Sunday, late afternoon, the toilet backed up. Having only one bathroom, well this posed a problem to say the least. I went to Angies List and looked at all the plumbers listed to see which ones offered 24 hour emergency services. I called a couple and only got answering machines and I started to get worried. When I called Roto Rooter an actual live person answered and by now it was after 5pm at night. I had barely started to explain my problem when the woman I was speaking to pulled my information from a service call they had made for me in 2007 (I had completely forgotten about it!). I was promised a service tech within two hours. About an hour and a half later I got a call to let me know they were running late but would still be out to my house. Another 30 minutes later they called to let me know they were on they way. Pat arrived at my house and sized up the situation quickly and got to work. Within 40 minutes he had the toilet and tub running smoothly, just in time for me to give my son a bath before sending him to bed. I was not charged an extra fee for coming out on the weekend and I feel like the overall bill was very fair. I am very pleased with my experience and would recommend Roto Rooter to anyone needing this type of service.

I do respect a company that tries to fix problems that the customer has.

All he did was take a wire hanger and unclogged my drain. I felt for the service provided it was way too highly priced. A fair price would have been like a $40-50 price. After I sent in this report, they contacted me which I did truly appreciate. They sent me a $50 check for my trouble (the coupon was for a $30 call - the discount is still ambiguous). I appreciated them reaching to me to work this out though. I may consider using them in future; it is something I'll have to think about.
