Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Work was done as preventive maintenance to avoid slow and/or clogged drainage in the future. My original call was prompted by a minor floor drain overflow in the laundry room. In the past I had another company clear the line from the laundry room to just outside the house and roots were removed. This company then recommended running a cable through the outside main line to remove roots. The Roto Rooter technician was confident that clearing the outside line should resolve the problem without my incurring an additional cost of running a line from the laundry room. This seemed logical...but I guess time will tell.

I had a clogged kitchen drain and it was apparent that the pipes under the sink were leaking as well. I called Roto Rooter late in the day on the 28th and they responded with an appointment for the next morning. Bob J. was the plumber responding to the call and I found him to be very accommodating and professional. He was able to undo the clog, he redid all the under sink pipes (double sink with disposal) and he installed a kitchen sink for me (which I had just purchased.) The time involved was approximately two and one-half hours. He cleaned up the work site (undersink cabinet, the sink area, and the floor area). I was greatly pleased with his demeanor and would ask for him again.

I called for service on Sunday of Memorial day holiday and they said someone would be there within 2 hours. It was not an emergency but I was concerned about some leakage past the shutoff. They called back to say he would be there after finishing the job he was on. I called once a couple of hours later and they had still not completed that prior job. Five hours later they called back to say it would be in the morning as the job had taken so long. Of course when he shows up its a bigger estimate than I anticipated which he explained was due to need for permit and inspection. Don, was great in doing the work professionally and left the work area as clean as he found it. He was unable to repack the frozen front faucet and did not charge for the attempt. He gave me some packing to try after letting the WD40 do its trick. So, we're very happy it's fixed. Nothing against Roto-Rooter, but this business of inspecting every little plumbing repair is crazy and really drives up cost needlessly.

Jason was fabulous, polite, professional and got everything working great. Our experience couldn't have been better. We will use them again.

I had used Roto-Rooter in the past, so I went online and set up an appointment late Friday night rather than wait until the next morning to call. It wasn't an emergency, but I was preparing food for a family celebration, and we were going out of town early the next week, and I wanted to have the work done as soon as possible. I was able to specify a two-hour time frame for my appointment online, and I received a phone call later that evening letting me know that the scheduler would call me in the morning with a confirmation of the time that someone would be there. As it turned out, the service technician lived nearby and called to say he would be coming early, which was fine with me. He arrived promptly, assessed the situation, got the necessary equipment and went right to work. The disposal and drain were cleared very quickly. He advised me about how to avoid the problem in the future. (There were apparently too many Brussels sprout leaves for the disposal to handle!) I couldn't have asked for better service. The problem was solved, and was taken care of by a very personable and competent technician. The fee wasn't low, but I feel that I got my money's worth -- job done right, right away! I would not hesitate to recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone in a similar situation.

After downstairs toilet overflowed, I checked the outside vent and could see I had a clog. I called Roto Rooter about 4 p.m. on a Sunday, and they arrived at 4:40 p.m. The technician, Mike, assessed the situation and quoted me a price of $299 to remove the clog and do a main line cleaning. I also had a $40 coupon from their website that he said I could use. Within about 45 minutes he had pulled clogs going both away and toward the house. The clog going away from the house was the worse of the two and took him the longest to clear. But once that clog was cleared you could hear the water rushing through freely. He handed me a liquid pipe cleaner to use over the next 6 months to help keep the pipes clear and smooth and left. He was done by about 5:30 p.m., and my drain was back to normal less than 2 hours after placing initial call. I was very pleased with service and glad I called Roto Rooter.

Roto-Rooter was at our home within an hour after our call. The service man worked for approximately 90 minutes and told us we definitely needed a service to clean up the sewage. We got a name and that company was out to our home within 1 hours and had the sewage cleaned up within 3 hours (included taking up carpeting, removing dry wall, moving furniture and had big fans set up for 3 days).

Servicemen were friendly, professional, and cleaned up area. We were satisfied with the results. The first visit was an emergency for me because the sink backed up the day I had a dinner party for 12 planned. They were able to come within 2 hours of my call to save the evening.

They did excellent work. It was a great experience. He was on time and explained what the problem was. He explained why the problem happened. He was very professional.

I never call anybody else. They are the only one I call for drain cleaning. We have had great luck with them over the years. They are always on time and courteous.

Had a lot of trouble getting them to honor their warranty, told us it was a new problem not honored by warranty and had to pay another 183.50 dollars for service. ** After posting this review, Rick in the administrative office got back to me and refunded the additional fee of $183.50. We appreciate his concern, professionalism, and dedication to customer service.

It was quick, efficient, clean, and more importantly, done right the first time! We have used Roto-Rooter 3 times for different services, and each time they were excellent. I would not hesitate to use them again.

It went really well. I haven't had any more problems.

plumber Larry Buser with Roto Rooter located out of the Brentwood, Mo. office, did a great job taking care of all our plumbing problem's. The garbage disposal water was backing up in my dishwasher and into my double drain sink. Larry ran a auger down the pipe on our roof, come to find out their was a large blockage under our basement floor. Problems have all been solved.. He was very polite, and on time. Cleaned up the mess, even made me a drawing of the problem. I could not be happier. (even had a $40.00 discount)

They do a good job. They are a little expensive like any other plumber.

These people came out twice and never solved our sewer back-up problem. The third time the sewer backed up (after they had already been out twice!), we had severe damage to wood flooring, tile flooring and carpeting. We called someone else who immediately found the problem and took care of it, cheaper. update: After my negative review went up, I was contacted by Roto Rooter's customer service. They asked what they could do to remedy the situation, and also refunded my money for my initial service. That was a very good response and made me feel better about the situation.

The tech showed up when expected, about an hour after we placed a call for service. He was professional and friendly. He worked on our outside sewer access for almost two hours. He cleared the blockage causing the sewer backup and ran several checks to be sure everything was ok.

He was 1 hour late showing up. Misdiagnosed the problem. Gave me an estimate 21/2 times more expensive than yellow page providers that I ended up using because of their advertised rate. Disappointed in Angie's list rating for this business.

The toilet stool had broke away from the bolts which made the drain leak into the basement. They removed the cammode and discovered that the previous installer did not follow code when I had previous remodeling done. The cammode had to be resealed to make sure it was sturdy enough for my handicapped husband. In checking the revisions made to the drain into the family room, they discovered that it was not to code. So, in the future, I will have to have that part of the plumbing redone.

The separate shower stall and tub in our master bathroom each suddenly had a clogged drain. No slow draining had occurred in the days before to give us a clue that we had a problem. Coincidentally, just a few weeks prior, I had a different plumbing company come out to repair two slow drains--one in a master bath vanity, and one in the tub of a hall bath. These drains were successfully unclogged, but it took two visits. (The plumbing company I used didn't have the proper equipment and had to contract out the job to someone else.) So when the problem happened with our master bath shower, I wondered if was related to the other drain problems---or if it was just bad luck. Not wanting to have any issues over the weekend, I contacted Roto-Rooter this morning. I was very pleased with the prompt response; a technician was able to arrive just an hour and a half later. Bob was very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to unclog the shower drain without any problems. Subsequently, the tub drain was cleared as well. Bob even guaranteed his work for 6 months. This is very reassuring, since clogged/slow drains seem to be happening frequently in our home. I also purchased Roto-Rooter's Pipe Shield product which will help clean and maintain the pipes from "sludge" buildup and hopefully reduce the chance of clogged drains. Roto-Rooter was more expensive than the plumber I had previously used, but the price was worth the great service.

Service was excellent. Job was done in a timely manor and everything was explained before doing the jobs.

My toliet had been running and the tank would not fill. Glen came out from Roto-Rooter and was very nice and professional. The fill tube had broken so the toliet needed to be taken apart to fix it. Glen gave us a good price and also checked all our other toilets to make sure they were in working order. He fixed the problem quickly and now everything works great. I was very happy with his service and would use them again!

We have had to call Roto-Rooter several times during the past year. The positives: They are always able to unclog the backed-up drain. They arrive promptly. The negatives: They do not put down drop cloths of any kind and they do not wear shooties to cover their shoes. Because of this, we have to rush to hang up cloths to protect the area around where they work, and put cloths on the floor. After they leave, we have to clean up the area where they worked. They also do not clean the area around the drain that had backed up. In this review, we said we would use this provider again because there is no option for "maybe." Now that we are members of Angie's List, we may look for a service whose reviews indicate that they use drop cloths and clean up after they have finished the job.

The response to my call was immediate. I called on Sunday morning, the call was answered by a person who told me that my repair t had been scheduled, would be within the next two hours, and that I would receive a call from the service technician before he arrived. Within a half hour I got a call from the him to tell me he was on his way...and he was! He arrived shortly thereafter and went to work. My house is 105 years old and clearing a drain in old plumbing is an art since the pipes weren't designed for the use of modern equipment. However, the service technician, Michael Harris, knew how to overcome those issues and within half an hour he had cleared the clog and cleaned up the bathtub, sink and even splashed water on the floor. It was a great experience and I now have Roto Rooter on speed dial and will ask for Michael again...but hopefully it'll be a good long time until I need this service again!
