Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

We called before 9:00 am to have our hot water heater worked on. I was told that they would be able to get someone out that day, between 2 and 5. They cancelled at 4:30, saying they would get someone out the next day between 2 and 5. I would have tried to get someone else, but I couldn't be home in the morning, so I figured, well, we'll stick with Roto Rooter. They again cancelled, this time at 5:00pm, saying they didn't have anyone that could come out. What I found most annoying wasn't that they didn't have someone--I realize with the weather they may have had a lot of work. I am annoyed that they waited until the last minute to let us know. This situation was an opportunity to build good will and a positive relationship with a customer. Instead, they simply blew it. A call closer to 3:00 to inform me they wouldn't be able to come would have allowed me to possibly find a company that DID have the time to work on my hot water heater, without the anger that I currently have towards Roto Rooter. So basically, FAIL. I will never try to do business with Roto Rooter again.

It went well. It was Christmas Eve day, and both toilet had overflowed (flushable wipes are best not flushed I've learned). Lots of company coming that evening. Called Roto-Rooter 8 am, placed a service call, got a call back in about half an hour that a technician was on the way. He checked out the situation, gave me the estimate ($259), I agreed and he started work. Cleared the main line (discovered the flushable! wipes). Upstairs toilet still ran slow, told me the price to clear that was typically $159 as a separate call, but since he was already onsite, could discount it to $100. I agreed, he cleared the clog. Everything is now flowing well, and got thoroughly tested last night! Jon Arbogast was my technician, very thorough, friendly and professional. I like their work, their responsiveness, just would have liked to pay about $100 less for the same service.

Roto Rooter initially came to fix what I thought was just a clogged drain. It was clear that the pipe needed to be replaced. I was not charged for that visit. The next day a plumber came to give an estimate. Eventually, a few days later I had them come back and replace the drain pipe and a large portion of the main stack. Shawn was our plumber and he was very available and did a great job. I would definitely use them again.

Robert arrived on time (the beginning of the two hour window), diagnosed the problem early, and provided us an accurate estimate prior to service so we could make the decision of whether or not to proceed. He then found another problem, and still was able to fix the problem in less than an hour. We will definitely be using them for any plumbing needs in the future.

I called Roto-Rooter late on Sunday night -- the agent on the phone advised me that I could save money by not having an after-hours, late night service call if we could hold out until morning. I agreed. First thing the next morning a plumber was here who took care of everything and even did some additional work that I had been intending to do. The experience was fantastic. Our plumber was fast, efficient, friendly, neat, clean and well spoken. He also passed our ultimate "quality test" because everything was neat, clean and tidy as a pin when he left. I would recommend this plumber again and again.

Made an appointment on line via their website. Received notice that I would receive email verifying the appointment. Did not. Had almost given up on them arriving when I received a phone call that they would be about an hour late. Once the service man arrived the service was great. He was polite, professional and very courteous to my 83 year old mother who lives with me (which unfortunately does not always happen). The work was done quickly, he cleaned up completely. I am very satisfied.

My son reported that he kept hearing a glugging sound in his room and when we investigated my husband decided to flush the toilet which overflowed. In trying to clear the clog, the plunger only forced water out of the nearby sink and then the main drain in the basement expelled some very strong smelling black stuff! We called Roto Rooter and within an hour they were at the house. Dan was extremely friendly and quickly identified a problem in the sewer line and worked to clear the blockage. He then cleared the drain in the basement. The total time of service was less than 30 minutes and is guaranteed for 6 months.

The technician who came out was very professional and personable. He tracked down my problem to something other than the sewer issue I had thought I had. I was able to take care of the issue on my own. Because he viewed his visit as giving me an estimate he did not charge me. I was amazed at a company that treated me so well and really seemed to care. I will definitely call them in the future when I need their services

I made an appointment online the night before, specified the time I wanted and by the next morning they were calling to see if they could come out earlier. I think the Roto Rooter customer service must have called 6 times to send someone out earlier.. which was a little annoying, but what can you do. The tech came out, Bob, and he was fast, efficient and polite. No complaints!

When we called they said they would be there within three hours. Carl came within two hours. He was very nice and professional and completed the work in a very timely manner.

it did not go well. we still have the problem. no one will either find the turn off or give us an idea of the cost

They had an A rating and they gave me a quote. I would have done business with them but they said they couldn’t come back out in the week to fix it. They didn’t deserve the A rating as my friends and family discussed about them with me. They quoted me $978. He lied to me and said that I needed a permit for the work.

The flap on the toilet is of the cheapest quality. What he came for , he didn't do and what he did do, he overcharged. When I suggested that the price was very high, he said "Plumbers were not cheap." I will never call Roto Rooter again. A total rip-off!

I have called this company many times over the thirty years that we have lived in this house. The call center is very professional, and always helpful> From the time of the call until the arrival of the technician, was less than ninety minutes. We are very satisfied with this company, and location, and would recommend them very highly for their professionalism.

I was attempting to install a new faucet and hit a point at which I could not get a bolt loose to remove a part. I called roto-rooter and they had someone there within an hour. Don was great and even taught me how he was able to get around the issue. A little pricey but the service was top notch

Went very well. Employee was right on time and very perfessional. Asked me to explain what was going on and he explained in detail what he was doing. When completed he showed me the images and explained everything so I could understand. Marked area in yard that would be worked on and explained exactly what I needed to do.

Responded within minutes to phone call and plumber arrived within 2 hours of call at scheduled time. He tried flushing and snaking the line several times then informed us unable to clear the clog with this method and recommended high pressure air in line to blow out clog, clogged cleared within minutes. Price was higher than we would have liked but promptness and service were great. Have used Roto Rooter plumbers before and will use them again if needed.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service John Marhanka Our 6-yr-old (a few months out of warranty) A.O. Smith water heater had a pilot light issue: it went out and wouldn't stay lighted. This plumbing business advertised quick service and was listed on Angie's List, so we called 314-428-0575 at about 10am today for repairs. The phone was answered by Candace(sp?), a customer service rep; she was very pleasant while she took the information about the problem. She scheduled a service call at our convenience during the following two hour window. In about ten minutes a man phoned and said that he had service personnel coming from another job, that they would be there in 45 minutes to an hour. An hour later Jason and John arrived. They examined the water heater and explained the likely problem and gave an estimate. Fifteen minutes later they showed us the bad pilot assembly, then left to get a new one. They returned with the part 45 minutes later. In about 35 minutes the repair was finished. During each interaction, both guys were courteous. We could readily understand their explanations. They left the work area as they found it, shut off the basement lights and locked the door before they left. One hour later we had hot water (2pm)! This plumbing repair is guaranteed for six months. Labor cost $224, part cost $110. We had a $30 off Angie's List coupon, applied to the repair balance. The invoice says that the web site had coupons too, two of which we discovered would have applied to this work: $40 off any service $50 off a water heater purchase, installation, or repair $50 off whole house service plus free camera inspection Overall this was a very positive experience. We recommend them to others. We really appreciate how quickly and pleasantly Roto-Rooter responded and took care of the water heater problem.

We noticed our sewer backing up in the basement on a Saturday night. My husband used Roto-rooter's online scheduling to make an appointment for Sunday morning. Roto-rooter called the following morning to tell us they were on their way, and they arrived 20 minutes prior to the promised service time. The guy was very professional and worked very efficiently. He also explained the problem and assured us of the 1-year warranty for the service. The problem was fixed, and we used a $40 dollar coupon from the website the reduce the cost to only about $200.

Called in the morning a little after 10 and someone was here at a little after 11. He was in and out in less than an hour and everything works perfectly. I have used root-rooter in the past and will continue to use them as their workers are friendly and efficient.
