When I had problems screwing in my attachments (after he'd gone), he came back the next day to show us how to do it

It was a Sunday afternoon service call and the plumber. I was told on the phone it would be three hours, but the plumber arrived in less than an hour. Very pleasant and professional.

The plumber was very friendly and professional. The price was higher than another plumber I called but chose to have the work done by Roto Rooter due to the convenience. The plumber replaced the pump in short order and was clean and efficient.

Glenn removed the overhang siding and other wood covering to find and inspect the drain pipe. He discovered the joint ("mission band") between the drain line and the vertical vent pipe had been installed incorrectly, years before, and left a gap. In the process of my using a "plumbers helper" before the technician came and cabling and flushing the line the previous evening, water must have surged up the vent pipe and out this gap. Glenn replaced the joint and reinstalled the siding. Much of the work was carpentry related without a clear idea of where the drain pipe was located, so I very much appreciate Glenn working outside the usual plumbing repair work. Separately, as I said above, Glenn cabled the sewer lateral, which was fortunately timed as he found the line at one place nearly plugged with sludge. For pricing, the first job didn't fit the usual plumbing service call, so I appreciate Glenn's generosity and fairness in computing the overall charge.

John came out to find out why Justin was unable to snake the drain past a certain point. He spent quite a while was able to locate the vent outside where unbelievably there was no cap and the dirt was falling into the sewer line. He cleared all of this out to the street back and forth several times while explaining everything to us. It was extremely hot out but he was persistent and kept working. Both young men who came to our home this weekend were every knowledgeable, professional, well mannered. We were very thankful they were able to come out on the weekend and take care of this problem.

Justin was great he explained everything and gave us some options he spent time in speaking with us and doing the work he was here a long time. He also set up for John to come out the following day to snake the line with the camera to find the other blockage.

Rather than take apart the drain beneath the sink, Justin took his cabling machine up on the roof and ran the "snake" down the drain vent. The plugged drain pipe is located in the kitchen overhang, and unfortunately after the cabling, dripping water was spotted below the overhang. Did the cabling somehow break through the drain pipe? Justin arranged for a technician to come out the following morning to investigate the leak. As I will describe in a separate review for the following day service call, the leak was not the result of the cabling and in no way was the fault of Justin's work. Justin was very courteous, explained his approach and worked efficiently. Furthermore, he expedited a follow up service call for the next morning.

They are expensive. The nice thing is that I can always call them anytime and they will come. Their quality is pretty good.

He made a perfect assessment and instead of trying to make some money he advised me to contact the builder.

Technician arrived on time. Very professional Evaluated the required work needed and then performed it to our satisfaction. Was very patients and answer any question we had Once done cleaned the area and ensured that there are no leaks.

I called Roto-Rooter Pluming and Drain Services to schedule an appointment for a technician. The tech arrived right on time. He dumped backed up sewer and snaked the drain, he informed me that it looks like the pipe is broken. That's why company needed to send tech#2 (cameraman) to make sure the pipe actually is broken. The camera man also arrive on time and after using his camera he informed me that yes the pipe is certainly broken. He gave me free estimate that how much it would cost if i used Roto_Rooter. The free quote was quite fair. Anyhow It was a good experience for me to use Roto_Rooter for at least three reasons. 1: Technicians were professional, well mannered and very knowledgeable.2: comparing to other pluming companies the free estimate given by Roto-Rooter was quite fair. . 3: excellent customer care. I am glad I finally find a reliable plumbing services who i can trust. I recommend Roto-Rooter Pluming & Drain Services to all my friends and/or whoever needs pluming services done, at least give it a try. thanks to Roto-Rooters.

The Tech Don came over right on time after calling the day of for a leak below my shower that needed to be fixed because it was running into my neighbors unit below me, causing damage to the ceiling. He arrived, diagnosed the problem by dumping water down the drain with my help and watching for the leak. He informed me that estimates were free, but since we had to "do something" ie dump water, that I would have to pay the minimum $135 fee. He then told me he could fix the problem for $450. I told him to go ahead. He did a great job fixing the shower drain, but he left a mess in my neighbors house when he cut the hole in the ceiling, and tracked drywall dust and debris all the way out the front door, and left without cleaning any of it up. Summary: if you need a plumber fast, call roto-rooter.... if you want all the details covered and possibly a lower price, maybe look elsewhere. February 2015 Update: 8 months after this repair was completed, (approximately) the shower began leaking AGAIN into my neighbors unit... I called Roto-Rooter out because I assumed it was the same problem... The first day they were supposed to come out, they pushed back the time by 4 hours due to the tech being busy, so we re-scheduled for 4 days later. The very courteous and professional tech Shawn came out on February 6th and cut into the ceiling to access the situation, he noted that the original tech, used plumbers putty on the shower strainer instead of silicone caulk, and since it is a fiberglass shower, the drain will move slightly, causing the putty to crack, and not hold a seal... Shawn informed me I was out of the 6 month warranty on their original work. I did not pay Shawn and instead spoke with Bob Null at the Roto-Rooter office. He was informed of the situation and I told him that I would not be paying for the service, as it was a repair that was NOT done correctly the first time, and that I will be sending them a bill for the 2nd drywall repair. Bob agreed to waive the charges for the second repair but insisted they would not pay to have the ceiling repaired.

Antoine the original technician came out and diagnosed the problem after snaking our drains would not work. He was super nice and professional. After hearing my son had special needs and being able to use water is extremely important to us he called Keith the plumber to come out and confirm his diagnosis of a broken pump. Keith showed up 30 minutes later and confirmed the diagnosis. He explained that the job would take around 4 hours and he wouldn't have the time to do it that night but would be back tomorrow even agreeing to start at 7 so that he could be done by the time I left for my meeting. Not only did Keith clean up after himself he also locked up as I had to leave early. I work in the hospitality industry and really value great customer service so to get the quality of work and service we received I really felt it necessary to speak up.

The main soil pipe in our basement was split. In checking the previous work that had been done by another plumbing company, it was discovered that it was not to code. He corrected the previous work bring it to code along with the replacement of the soil pipe. No additional charges were applied. When it was completed, the repairman cleaned up the entire area. He was very professional and I would welcome him back in my home.

It was a good experience. They came on a Saturday. It was probably priced what anybody else would have charged. They came right out. The whole repair ended up being pretty pricey. He was super nice. It actually got awkward and I told him he could go. He took the time to explain it to me so I was appreciative of that. It took him less than an hour so we worked a deal out on the price. The price was comparable to what I've paid before for such things such as a garbage disposal. He was here within an hour.

Called initially the morning of April 21 with a sewer back up after a shower. Serviceman arrived about 2 hours later. He tried to use the auger through the bathroom stack, but it was too stopped up from what he was guessing was roots in the sewer line. Since he couldn't get the auger through, he had to call a "cameraman" to come out to see what and where the congestion was. That tech came out later that afternoon. He confirmed it was clogged with tree roots and that another service truck had to come out with basically a power washer to blast the roots out to the main sewer, however, no one was able to come out until the next day. We were unable to flush over night, which was a little challenging. But we were told to keep the line as dry as possible and to not add any more debris to the clog. Nick (the 'water canon" guy) arrived mid-afternoon on Tuesday, Apr 22. He took his equipment up on the roof and started the process of blasting the roots out. It took him about an hour from start to finish. He was super-nice, very polite, and explained everything he was doing before, during and after. He suggested that we use a root-removal product once a month to help keep the roots from re-attacking the waterline. Considering we had 3 service calls and the amount of work that was done by all 3 of the techs who came out to the house, the price of $850 seems pretty reasonable. Plumbing is expensive no matter who does the work, and I feel we got our money's worth from Roto-Rooter. I'm also comforted by the fact that if there was a problem that might arise, they would come back to fix it free of charge. We would also ask for NICK because he was GREAT!

I noticed that my rugs at the bottom of my stairs which leads to the basement was soaked and upon further inspection water had leaked into the storage room which is under the kitchen sink upstairs. Because my water lines had frozen two nights before I assumed that the pipe was leaking thus causing the water in the basement. The night after the pipes had frozen I left the water dripping so that it wouldn't freeze again. Turns out the water that had leaked into the basement came from a loose connect from the sprayer on the faucet which had worked itself loose due to regular use. The plumber was puzzled as to where the water in the basement could possibly have come from since the pipes were determined to be okay. He had the water from the kitchen faucet to run while we were watching down stairs to see if we could see where the water was coming from, he had me to watch down stairs when he went up stairs to check. After a few minutes he said, here it is, its coming from the sprayer part that pulls out of the faucet. By the time I got up stairs he was screwing the connection back together which took care of it. The problem is that when I called to make this appointment I specifically asked how much it would be...I was told that when the plumber gets there he will assess the problem and at that time quote me a price to repair. The plumber did not give me a quote for repairing my problem he just proceeded to fix it and then charged me $159.00. When I questioned him about what I was told upon making the appointment, his reply was that 'Oh, those guys don't know what they are doing." When I asked why it was what I thought was excessive he said because you get a bottle of Drain Care, and you can use the $30.00 coupon. I asked that the Drain Care be taken off because I don't want that as I didn't call because I had a clogged drain. He lied to me saying that it was free and therefore could not be deducted from the $159.00. Later when looking at the receipt he left it shows that labor was $100.00 and the Drain Care was $59.00 for the total of $159.00. Clearly I fully expected to pay for the service he provided even though he never gave me the option but he clearly lied about the Drain Care and because of that I will be filing a complaint

On Easter Sunday morning, 4/20/14, my daughter took a long shower in the lower level bathroom. I went downstairs and saw water seeping up from floor drain near washer/dryer. Water retreated shortly with no other problems the remainder of the day. I showered Monday morning, 4/21, and, drain overflowed again even more. Figured I better call. Had similar problem in 2012. Referred to Angie's list and since I had used Rotor Rooter in 2012, I contacted them again. They had given me a $25 off service call coupon that was still good until end of May. I called on 4/22 at 5:30p and they offered to send someone that evening. I did not want to pay extra charge for after hours call. Rep indicated there were no extra charges, they were available 24/7/365 at same price. Within 30 minutes, Jeff called to say he would be arriving about 7p. Jeff was a bit early, very friendly, listened to my problem, explained how he would check out my problem and provide me with an estimate prior to doing work. He checked the basement drain and outside drain with me flushing toilets and running water several times. He felt drain was running a bit slow. He explained he would run cable from outdoor drain to street first, then run cable in to house. He explained charges, I signed on the dotted line and he proceeded. After about 20 minutes, drain lines were clear and it may have been tiny tree roots. I was able to save my $25 coupon because I was able to get a $30 discount as an Angie's list member. Cost $259-$30=229. Lines clear and Jeff was finished and on his way. I was very pleased, and, as of today, 4/14, no other back-up issues have occurred. I have done 4 loads of laundry and taken two showers!!!! Jeff was also great with my dogs, which is always a plus!

They were fast and efficient- they came within 20 minutes of my call!

They came out within an hour if calling and fixed within 30 minutes. Very fast!

I called today and two hours later my drain was clear. Very good job, will use again....

Very well. Steve, the plumber was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He did all 3 jobs well.

First let me say I was impressed with the punctuality of the plumber and his professionalism. He completed most of his work in the pouring rain and made sure to remove his wet coat and cleaned his shoes in the garage before coming back in the house. The only complaint that I had is the cost seemed high. It took him about 45 minuets to complete both tasks and the cost was $342.00 (after the Angie's list $30 off coupon). Even if I include 45 min of driving time each way that would still be more than $150 per hour. I could understand if this was an after hours weekend call but it was a Monday morning at 9 AM, I have had other work done on the house and nothing has ever been as high as $150 per hour for just labor.

The repair work is excellent. Was able to unclog that pipe with a plunger afterwards as it is air tight now. Was not going to pay their fee to unclog that small pipe. The plumber was very professional and explained everything before he started. He made sure the work area stayed clean. As this happened on a Saturday you have limited choices of who you can use.
