Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I made the appointment using their website. I received an email pretty quickly in response. I was given a time frame of 9-11 AM. The plumber called around 9:15 and said he's be there in 30 minutes. He was on time, explained what needed to be done and how much it would cost. Work was finished without any problems

The basement drain for the water draining from the dehumidifier was overflowing. The technician reamed out the drain and then did the same thing for another drain in the basement as a preventation of future problems. He explained what he was doing well and was very efficient and professional. We called for service one evening and he came out the next morning. He would have come out the same day, but we felt that was unnecessary.

I have used Roto Rooter before and when the sewer backed up in my basement I didn't hesitate calling them again. They arrived at my house within an hour and half and it took only 45 minutes to clean the drains. The gentleman was very courteous and professional. He also gave me tips on how to prevent this from happening again. All in all I was satisfied with their service.

They did fine and they solved the problem. The sewer didn't back up any longer.

They were cheaper than the last guys that did it. I was not here but they arrived on time and the place was cleaned up so I was happy. I haven't had any backups so it definitely turned out okay. I would definitely use them again.

I was scheduled for same-day service between 4-6pm. Apparently I missed the 30 minute call before tech arrival and when I called back at 5pm, I was informed it was already too late. Not happy, but rescheduled for 8-10am the next morning. Got the pre-call at 7am and the tech was at my place by 8am. The tech was very punctual, very polite and friendly. He gave the estimate up front and got to work right away. The toilet was functioning again within minutes. I don't regret calling Roto-Rooter when it only took a short time to repair. He had the right tools & I didn't!

This was a great experience from start to finish. I wasn't able to unclog the drain myself so I called up Roto-Rooter. They were able to send someone out with an hour or two. The person I booked the appointment with was professional. I received two phone calls letting me how close the technician was to coming by. The technician was very professional, very nice. He cabled the drain quite a ways out and was done in about half-an-hour. Tub drains normally now. Very satisfied and I would definitely use them again.

They had one employee come out to complete the work in less than two hours. They've always come to take care of things. They are available 24/7 and no additional charge for outside of normal business hours.

They had to come out multiple times as they were unable to resolve it the first time but they were very knowledgeable it?s just that they didn?t get the job done the first time.

I had excellent experience with them. Initially they figured out what my problem was and then they replaced my sewer line injector.

Showed up promptly and were very clean and courteous.

Very well - we had a 1-3 window, and Roto-rooter called to say they may be a bit late. However, the plumber showed up right at 3:00. After fixing what we thought was the main problem - a dripping cold water handle, it was determined that the faucet had a drip as well. We authorized the replacement of both handle stems, and the problem seems to be resolved. The only reason I rated Roto-Rooter a B on price is because they cost a little more than most companies. However, they can typically be on site the same day, within a two hour timeframe that works for you. Other companies may be cheaper, but for a small job like this, they will make you wait until it fits into their schedule.

They were terrible. It was very expensive and I wasn't happy with it. And then subsequently, another drain backed up in the basement and I think they just pushed something into the other drain to get it backed up. They refused to snake the second drain without me paying again so I didn't have to do it. I did it myself. They could've snaked the other drain which they didn't do. They were also about 6 hours late and he was pushy.

Our basement floor drain was clogged and we called Roto-Rooter because we've used them in the past and they were rated high on Angie's List too...Even with it being a Sunday there were no additional charges for the call. The phone representative was so kind and said that they could have a service man to our home within the next 2 hours. We were called and the serviceman told us that he was about 30 minutes away. Jason was the serviceman and we all recognized each other as he has been here before about a different pipe problem unrelated to this. He was professional, explained the best way to unclog the pipe and gave us tips on how to keep the line as clear as possible. Another great experience and we would highly recommend Roto-Rooter and a big thanks to Jason.

I called to schedule service in my area at 7:48am for a backed up sewer lateral line. I requested a plumber with a camera line because I was pretty sure that there were other problems present (it is an older home). I was told there would be a plumber available within the hour and I would receive a phone call before he arrived. After one hour I called back and was told that the original service call was scheduled for a two hour block and the plumber would arrive if I waited another hour. After another hour I was called back by the service and told that they were running behind and that I should wait another 30 - 45minutes for a plumber to be available. After another hour I called the service back and was told that no one was available, that I "never should have been told an hour in the first place," and when I asked when a plumber would be available I was told that they did not know when one would be available. At this point I told the Cheri or Cheryl (not sure on the spelling) to cancel my appointment. She promptly called me back and told me that a plumber could be in "at my doorstep" in 30 minutes. When the plumber arrived he looked at the drain backing up in our basement and proceeded to snake the main sewer lateral from the street. Several times I was asked to flush a toilet which resulted in backed up water in my basement. The plumber continued working for about an hour and a half before recommending power jetting the line. He said he could continue to snake the line, but that I would be charged hourly for the service and he didn't think he would make any progress. Another plumber was dispatched to power jet the line. I was told that with the power jetting service that I would receive a DVD video of the line. After the line was clear and I was able to flush the toilet without water backing up into the basement the plumber started to camera the line. He would not let me see the video before he left. He insisted that the work was complete and that the problem was several belly's in the line. He said the sludge that was backing up the line was common in the older city houses in my area and that the sewer lateral would probably need jetting every 1 - 2 years. He said he was not able to look beyond the clay pipe with the camera and that he would not try. I told him I paid for the camera service and that when the house was bought (a couple of years ago) the camera was done to the very back of the house. He insisted he would not take the camera out of the van again. He said the service came with a 6 month guarantee and if the problem wasn't solved they would come out again. When I continued to ask for the video he collected of the line, the plumber said it would be mailed to me in 6 - 8 weeks. I still have not received the video of the line (now 4 months since the service). While the first plumber was courteous and respectful both the dispatcher and the second plumber were not. I ended up having to take a day off work (when I was thinking I would only be out a couple of hours) and I still did not receive the service I paid for. IF the second plumber was correct and the line needs to be jetted again in a few months I will not use this company. The only positive is that the problem has been fixed for 4 months. UPDATE: I was contacted by Roto-Rooter on August 4th 2014 after this review first posted. In response to the review Roto-Rooter wanted me to know they had the DVD and it was available to be shipped to me.

So, long story short, the Roto-Rooter technician Ariel came to our house after a previous plumbing company and quot;attemptedand quot; to clear our mainline stoppage. I was worried I was looking at costly repairs and further non-use of my plumbing. Ariel came in and unclogged our drain no problem! Within the hour my plumbing usage was restored and all it required was Ariel and Roto-Rooter to come along and save the day. I was/am impressed. Thank you!

First job - We moved into a new house, and within days of hooking up our washer & dryer the sewer line backed up into our laundry room. It was a Saturday afternoon, and Roto-Rooter was very responsive...they arrived about 20 minutes after the original call. Justin was great and cleared the line for us right away. I jumped on Angie's List and wrote up an "A" rating review. Second job - Following the sewer back-up, we decided that we'd better replace the old cast iron pipes under our house. Roto-Rooter gave us a competitive estimate, so based on the great aforementioned experience we hired them to do the work. This time, our experience was not good. While I'm not quick to jump on to Angie's List to write a negative review, in this case the scope of this issues we ran into on the second job led me to revise this review despite our initial good experience. I've already spoken to Roto-Rooter at length about our experience so I won't rehash all of the fine details here, but in a nutshell we had too many problems to ever consider using them again.

The plumber was very punctual. And did the work quickly and professionally. The cost was more than I'd hoped it would be but I didn't really know what to expect. The replacement cost would have been much, much more. There's a 90-day guarantee on the work, which was good enough for me but may make others consider going for a replacement.

He showed up on time and even phoned when he was in process. Very informative in what he was doing and reminded us we get a discount because of Angie's list. Will definitely use again and refer other people to them. Very pleased.

Sewer had started backing up in the basement. I called on a Saturday, and within an hour they had someone out to take care of the problem. The employee, Javor, was great.

I received an estimate from the company on 7/8/14. I called on 7/13/14 to schedule service, and the person I spoke with said a dispatcher would call me the next day to set up the appointment. At 7:30am the next day (7/14/14), a dispatcher called me and scheduled my appointment for 1pm on 7/15/14. I traveled to the house (which I no longer live in; it's for sale and I live in another county) and arrived at 1pm. At 1:10, there was no plumber. I called, and a man named Jim said that they give a window, and my window was 1pm-3pm. I told him that is not what the dispatcher said; the dispatcher said my appointment was at 1pm. He proceeded to say they always give a window and that they call on the way. I told him if I had been given a window, I would not have left my current home to go to the house where the repair was needed until I received the phone call. He stated that the plumber was estimated to arrive at 2pm and would call on the way. At 2:30, I received a phone call from Jim stating that the plumber was still on the previous job and should arrive by 3:30. I then stated I expected some type on compensation for my time since I was told the appointment was at 1pm and 2.5 hours had passed with no plumber. At 4pm, I received a call from a man named Roger, who said they'd reviewed the recording from when the appointment was made, and the dispatcher had indeed told me my appointment was at 1pm rather than giving me a window and explaining that they would call when they were on their way. He told me that management was discussing what compensation they could offer me, that I would get his next available plumber, that he thought it would be about an hour, and that when he called to let me know the plumber was on his way, that he would be able to discuss compensation for my wasted afternoon. Five o'clock came and went. I did not receive a call until 6pm from another dispatcher stating that a plumber was on the way, at which time I declined service, as I had been waiting for several hours for them to show up and was not going to sit around for however many hours into the night it would then take them to fix the issue. I called to speak with Roger (as he had said he thought it would be an hour when I spoke with him at 4pm and that he'd call to discuss compensation), but, of course, he was not there (and neither was Jim). I wasted over 5 hours traveling to and sitting around an empty house waiting for a phone call. I would never trust them to do any actual work. This puts me in quite a bind, as I now have 10 days to seek more bids and have a plumber pull a city permit and complete the work.

When he arrived he had checked to see what need to be done on the drain pipe that is the pipe to put your laundry hose down. He started the washer and as soon as the water came out could hear the water rise in the pipe that would overflow. So he snaked it all out and said most was lint and glad there no dirt came out meaning that our large trees in the front could have grown through putting a hole in the main pipe. Said that all services were good for 6 months and that if any problems arise he would come back. Was here maybe an hour so he was quick, polite and efficient. Was very happy with everything.

I spent about $79. My experience was great. They were nice people. They're a great company to work with.

Quick response time. Came within 1 hour of our call. Unfortunately, Rotor-Rooter found a crack in our underground pipe and was not able to fix it. We have to go through the city of Maryland Heights.

Job was great but I thought it was overpriced. $278.04 and that was with a $40.00 coupon. Approximately 1 hour work. Technician was extremely helpful and explained everything.
