SUMMERFIELD LANDSCAPING GARDEN

This was the worst experience I ever had as a home owner with someone I hired to do home improvement work. He used no tools to judge the drainage slope needed so water would drain and not pool in my side yard. He "eye-balled" it and used a 2x4. He came to work sporadically and left a mess in the site when I finally told him to quit. I cleaned up mounds of clay, mud and grass over a span of a week. It was back-breaking work for me.
At the end he and especially his wife were very rude, insulting and argumentative. They were both impossible to communicate with in a civil manner. When I asked him for a written proposal on how he planned to complete the project, he reminded me that they don't give written statements which I knew from the beginning. When I said I wanted to get estimates from other landscapers before I'd pay him, he said "I'll see you in court". That afternoon he filed a claim against me in Small Claims Court writing he wondered how often I play "the taking advantage of this little old lady card", which I have never, ever done! No one ever did this to me before. I paid for 12 hours of work, which I recorded, (they claimed 14 hours) at $40/hour plus $20 in court filing fees. We never went to court because I agreed to pay, but they as plaintiffs legally should have dismissed the case. Instead they did the paperwork but insisted I pick it up at their cafe. I took it into the court which made an exception for me in this case after I'd made several phone calls and they were familiar with this case.
I would definitely never recommend this landscaper to anyone.
