When you choose a contractor like Ispiri you pay a premium. You pay a premium and for that premium you expect to not have to deal with the little details, a smooth process, and superior service. Things happen and companies/sub-contractors are not perfect and we totally get that, but almost EVERY single detail/work had to be redone and some multiple times. Our job was supposed to take approximately 5 weeks, but in reality it took approximately 13 weeks. Issues were plentiful and were due to use of poor subcontractors (who didn't pay attention to details), architects/designers who didn't pay attention to details, a project manager that while an incredibly nice guy was probably too overstretched, and a management team who didn't seem to care when we initially voiced concern. We were failed on so many levels and we are SO incredibly disappointed with the process.
Issues included holes drilled in stone where they shouldn't have been, shower rods being installed at the wrong height so that new tile had to be placed, warped cabinet doors, bad paint jobs, vanity ordered without all the wood sides (wasn't forgotten, just wasn't ordered because the attention to detail wasn't there), faucet fixture selections that our designer/architects said would fit were installed and ended up not working out and needed to be replaced with totally new fixture and type of fixture, divets in our wood frames that couldn't be patched well due to the types of nails/screws used so they all had to be reordered, mirror frames too tight to fit the mirrors so that the nails popped through the wood and frames needed to be redone..... the list goes on and on. None of these alone are issues, but the culmination of these and the need to come back for some items to fix them more than once, became frustrating... especially when you pay a premium to not have as much of this happen. Believe it or not, we were accepting of most everything and worked with the team to accommodate until this happened......
The subcontractors accidentally went off plan and drilled three holes for our soaking tub in the stone which were not supposed to be there. The project manager (PM) asked if we would be interested in getting a new tub to accommodate. We were open to that and wanted to work with them however, if that was the case the original tub had too high of a profile and wouldn't accommodate our faucet selection which matched with our other fixtures. So, our PM told us to see if we saw anything we liked. We found some images of a tub we liked. It didn't have to be this tub and we weren't even sure if this tub would work, so if he could find one that worked that was like this, we were okay leaving the holes. He asked us to email the photos. Next thing we know, we get an email in response (no in-person, no phone call) telling us that this tub is an upgrade and we would have to pay for the upgrade. WHOA! We were working with them to fix their problem, didn't need that tub, just liked the height of the profile, and weren't even sure it would fit. Turns out, our PM hadn't even looked to see if it would work in the hole we had (it didn't by the way) and just looked at the cost of the tub image we sent. His response was essentially, 'you owe us more money to fix a problem we created.' After so many problems and lack of attention to detail (even in communication methods), I reached out to Bjorn, the VP of Sales and Marketing at ISPIRI. I was irate and to be fair, I did light him up on the phone, but he defended his team (what happened to the customer is always right?) and said he would reach out to the team and get back to me. He did ask me if I had reached out to my team and I said I wanted to talk to someone else. What I wanted was for him to talk to the team get back to me with a plan to try to stop the craziness and redo's. It would have been wonderful if he and the team with the architects sat down with our plans and reviewed it all again along with the plan to figure out how they could turn this around.... never happened, nothing even close to it.
Within 30 minutes our contractor called me and told me he had a message from Bjorn that I was unhappy. He had not even spoken with Bjorn yet!!! I explained and he apologized. He worked to fix the issue, but nothing changed. Until the project was completed, more things were fixed. The nail in the coffin was that Bjorn, who assured me he would work with the team, get to the bottom of it and get back to me sent us an email that said he had spoken with the PM and said he heard we were fine. I never responded and I thought that would get a return phone call. NOPE! He sent ANOTHER email asking if everything was good. After how angry I was on the phone, I deserved a return phone call. I was so DONE!!!! Never again and at this point, there is NOTHING that they can do to fix this. They sure did want their full amount for the service though!!!
At the end of the work, ISPIRI contacted us for the final walkthrough and to give us some gift that they provide to their clients. We never responded. They had their money in full for poor service and lack of attention to detail and they are not welcome in my home EVER AGAIN! If you can believe it, at this point i FINALLY got a phone call from Bjorn wondering how things were and when his team could schedule to come to my house. THE NERVE!!!!! I informed him that they were not welcome, I will never use them again, and everyone I meet and know will hear about my poor experience. He did ask the President to give me a call and Jason was kind enough to try to reach out. He wanted to fix things. I did attempt to call him once and he wasn't available. I did share that there is no fixing this, my willingness to speak with him was to ensure he was aware of our poor experience so that maybe if he cared enough, which others clearly did not, he could fix this for others in the future. He did want to hear from me, but we're done. I'm tired of reliving the nightmare.
Long story, but bottom line. DON'T USE THEM!! I never write reviews and I was so upset by my experience that I am writing one. You can get more value for your money elsewhere, you WILL BE happier in the long run, and you and your hard earned money deserve that much. Anything they choose to write in defense of themselves or to suggest that they cared through this process is, in my opinion, not worthy of accepting at face value. Actions speak louder than words. Too little, too late!!
"At Ispiri our goal is to treat each client with utmost respect and care to ensure we are providing them with the best possible remodeling experience. While our overall client satisfaction rating over the past seven years has been 97%, we clearly missed the mark with [member name removed] and for that, we are deeply apologetic. Our company policy is to handle issues immediately and do our best to turn things around to deliver 100% to our customers but unfortunately, we have failed in this instance. As the President of the company I can assure you we don’t take any constructive feedback lightly. Every Ispiri employee is completely committed to our customers and we will use this feedback to review our processes and be certain that we deliver the best possible remodeling experience moving forward. We would like to open the door to [member name removed] to review each and every issue with her to ultimately bring about a fair and complete resolution. Jason Fabio, President Ispiri Design Build Remodel"
I am now working with them again to update another bathroom.
I would highly recommend Ispiri!
