Stubby's Firewood

This is our 3rd or 4th time getting firewood from Stubby's. I highly recommend them. Always friendly, professional, fast, and providing a fair and honest amount of wood for the money.

They delivered promptly and stacked it exactly where we wanted it. Service was excellent and we will definitely get firewood from them again. The wood quality was excellent.

Left multiple voice mails looking to get firewood for myself and a few other neighbors. Have yet to get a return call. Surprised with all the positive reviews. Ended up with another guy that is able to deliver this weekend. Do not know quality of firewood as none was delivered.

Really easy to set up with these guys showed up on time and delivered great firewood. Had the hottest fireplace our house has seen. Wonderful nights of fire ahead of us all winter long now.

I contacted Dennis (Stubby's new owner) a few days ago. He was very flexible on when he could deliver the wood. We coordinated a time, and you could have set your watch by his arrival. He was very accommodating as to where he would stack the wood (behind the house, on the deck, sorry). His assistant measured to insure I got what I paid for, (my racks were small I was told). Everything went smoothly. The gentlemen were polite, and careful. This is the second time that Stubby's has provided wood for me under new management; I have bought wood from the company for several years, and see no reason to stop. The logs were well-seasoned, and of very even lengths. The service was exceptional. The wood delivered was (I guess) 95+% oak, some birch, and dry as a bone. A perfect mix for me. I have used other providers in the past with less favorable service or wood. Stubby's is the best in terms of punctuality, product, and professionalism that I have used. Rest in Peace Stubby, your successor is doing your name proud.

They were on time (actually a bit early which worked out for us). They were both extremely polite. They took maybe 1/2 hour to unload and neatly stack all of the wood.

Always responsive and on time. Learned that there are new owners and couldn't tell a difference. Seamless.

They called back in good time to my voicemail inquiry, explained how their charges and scheduling worked, called back with an accurate time for the delivery and delivered and stacked wonderfully. We will certainly call Stubby's when we need more firewood!

Great service! They adjusted to a last minute schedule change, arrived on time as well as called ahead. We will definitely call Stubby's again next season.

They were very quick to respond and delivered on time. The quality of the wood is the worst I've ever had. This stuff doesn't burn - it just smokes. The wood is obviously not dry or seasoned - probably cut only a few weeks ago at best. A complete waste of time and money! I will not be using them again.

They are great. He confirmed the appointment the day before; showed up on time; unloaded and carted the wood to an area I wanted it stacked in behind my house; then swept and scooped up the wood debris that was on my driveway. By the way, they are pleasant and courteous. Just use them ~ don't call anyone else.

Had one face cord of firewood delivered less than a week from first contact. The delivery was exactly when scheduled. They were able to manage backing large truck through a narrow driveway and neatly stack the wood outside my garage about 20 feet from the truck. They were courteous and efficient. Over the winter, I've burned about half of the face cord. It burns very well. The size of the pieces are pretty good, with nothing being too big. I enjoyed having good wood during this long, cold winter. Will definitely call Stubby's when I run out of it. The price was slightly higher than other quotes I got, but the quality and responsiveness from Stubby's made it worthwhile.

After burning the wood all winter I can vouch that it was well dried and split into somewhat small pieces, which is my preference. I definitely recommend them and will use them next season.

My overall experience with Stubby's was OK, but not great. I had had problems getting a hold of some firewood delivery companies in the past, but they were always available to take my call. I contacted them approximately a week prior to delivery, and they let me know the soonest they would be able to deliver was two Saturdays from then. I didn't really mind, given the distance they had to travel. They contacted me again a couple days before delivery to confirm and to give me an idea for when they expected to be around. They arrived within the time window we had set, and it took them only a half hour or so to get the firewood stacked in my garage. I really only have two qualms with Stubby's. The first, and in my opinion more serious of the two issues, is that the firewood they delivered was not terribly dry. I don't know if this was a function of weather prior to the wood being delivered or what, but it just seemed a little more damp than I expected, which has led to fires being hard to start at times. My second issue was the wood mixture. I was told that the wood would be a mix of about 80% cedar and 20% birch. Now, I haven't explicitly calculated the actual percentages of birch and cedar, but it seemed to me that the stack was much less than 20% birch. I wouldn't say that I WON'T recommend Stubby's to other people, as I think there are some extenuating circumstances that could have led to the slightly damp wood, and the price, although a little high for my taste, I believe was simply a function of how far they had to travel for delivery. They are very professional and good to work with, but my first experience with their product was not quite what I would have liked.

They charged us $10 instead of the normal $20 for hauling the wood for about 50 ft to our tuck-under-garage from the alley, which was a nice touch. Will definitely stick with this company!

Delivered 1/2 cord of firewood and stacked it neatly in the metal rack I provided. Wood looks great (have not burned any yet). I had previously gotten wood from a company on craigslist who charged more and just dumped the wood in the driveway. What a difference! Fair price, good looking size wood and neatly stacked. Thanks.

I ordered 2 fireplace cords of wood on Wednesday and Matt delivered them on Saturday. He called the night before to confirm the hour timeframe and delivered exactly as promised. Great communication. Very professional and EXCELLENT quality oak wood. I am extremely pleased and will use Stubby's for all our firewood needs.

Ordered and received firewood from Stubby's. Stacked wood tightly, unlike other companies I've dealt with in previous years. Little more expensive than others, but you probably end up with twice as much wood.
