Stubby's Firewood

Everything went great from the inital phone call, the follow up, delivery and quality was fantastic. Could not be happier! I am a customer for life!!

We bought a 4x4 partial cord of firewood from Stubbies. It's a good combination action of Oak and some Birch. As they were stacking the wood, the Lead guy got a call. The other guy finished stacking. After getting off the call, the Lead measured the stack and scolded the other guy for not stacking enough. I thought they were finished, but was impressed that he measured to make sure they were delivering what I paid for. After two weeks, we have had several fires in our fireplace and in our firepit. The wood is dry, starts easily and burns slow. I am VERY IMPRESSED with the product and the CHARACTER of their employees. Count me in next year for another 4x4!

I called Matt on a Friday morning and ordered a cord of firewood. I was expecting that the delivery would take place the following week but Matt was able to deliver the firewood that very next day on Saturday. Great service. The wood burns really well.

20%of the wood could be labeled kindling. The oak was hard to light and very heavy...even with my gas fire starter it was tought to light.

I've been buying wood from Stubby's for years, starting before the previous owner retired. It's good, reasonably dry wood, split to useful sizes, cut to uniform stove lengths, and has a good mix of hardwood with a bit of softwood and birch. I burn it in an insert so I usually age it another 6 months, but it's probably ready to go for a fireplace. There is a $20 charge to wheelbarrow if the the wood pile is a distance from the truck but they are reasonable about waiving it if the pile is close and easy to reach. They are scrupulous about delivering a full cord, despite the fact that many commercial wood racks are not a full 8 feet long, they are nice guys, and they stack neatly. They have always been great about fitting in a delivery within a week or two. Full marks to Stubby's.

Great overall experience. Wood is a consistent size, dry, and a good mix of birch and oak. Stacked tight and filed the entire rack. Very clean and courteous. Will be recommending to all the neighbors.

They did a very good job stacking the firewood and cleaning up after themselves. The firewood is dry and in good sized pieces. They were punctual and professional.

From initial email contact via Angies List to delivery this was a great service experience. The follow-up predelivery confirmed date, time and we discussed the special issues with where to access the delivery point. The staff were excellent and did a great job of stacking a nice tight load of wood. I have lived in many cities across the country and have never had a firewood vendor perform in such fashion. Will see they again next year!

This is the third year I have purchased firewood from Stubby's. I have purchased from other local providers in the past and been very disappointed. The others cross stacked the wood, gave me a short dimension cord, and the wood wasn't dry, causing it to be hard to light and keep going. The wood I get from Stubby's is always dry and easy to light. I can put in a firestarter from Diamond and walk away, knowing the fire will be roaring away when I return. Mat and Joe are very friendly and easy to work with. They stack the wood where I want, and even stack it in 2 locations. This year they called me up before I called them to ask if I was ordering this year as they had another delivery in my area. This is the third year I have ordered from them. Their price may be a little higher than some, but I know I will get a full straight stacked cord ( maybe a little more) and the wood will be well seasoned. There is no one better than Stubby's.

company returns calls same day. were able to deliver within 4 days to the metro area. price was high relative to other providers we have used. wood is dry. biggest compliment: we got wood. biggest complaint: none of the wood is uniform. lengths vary. logs are small diameter. some of them have paint markings on them. it's almost as if its junk wood. BUT... it burns. AND... he forgot to leave my Angie's List kindling. We will try another provider on the next cord.

These guys are the best in their business! They were very quick to respond to my emails and calls, and they were able to set up a delivery for the same week that I called. They even delivered my firewood on a Saturday morning. They were right on time, and came ready to work. They were very friendly and efficient. The wood has been fantastic to burn, and is great quality. I will definitely be hiring them again!

Stubby's is great! The firewood was excellent and stacked perfectly. Nice and tight, no gaps. I definitely got what I paid for. Delivery was on time and the job was completed very fast and super friendly service. I use both a wood stove and fireplace and if I stoked the stove to run for the night, the wood burned nice and hot and slow. Great quality. Great service.

The wood arrived on time and it is THE BEST. I hate to handle/burn wet/dirty wood. The wood they delived was indeed oak and it was dry and clean and very nicely split into somewhat smaller-than-usual pieces, which I like. They unloaded and stacked it very efficiently and even had to carry most of it about 30 feet to get to the cradle. They had a great attitude and were very professional. They even swept the area when they were done. I wish more businesses were run this way!

We called Stubby's today hoping for delivery next week. They were in our area and said they would be happy to deliver our order today! They called before they delivered and were very professional during the delivery. I will use them again!!

I called on a Thursday, and Matt was able to get me in on the next Saturday. The wood is a mix mostly oak, with some birch sprinkled in. They stacked the wood nicely and cleaned up afterwards. My only gripe is that the price keeps climbing for a fireplace cord by $10 a year for the past three years. However, they have always come on time and with short notice. I will use them in the future.

I have been using Stubby for 3 seasons and they have always been prompt and professional. Usually I call on a Wednesday and my wood is staked and ready to burn by noon on Saturday. They provide me with extra large wood that no one else has been able to consistently provide.

Easy to contact, I called and we agreed on a delivery day and time. That day and time, they showed up and delivered some very nice, dry, well-split wood. A nice variety of wood, with nice hardwoods. They stacked it well and were more generous than other suppliers I have used. This is the best firewood experience I have had in many years of buying firewood.

This is the third year I ordered wood from Stubby's. I called on Thursday and had wood delivered 3 days later on Sunday. Mat was very prompt at returning my call and he showed up with the delivery right on time. He and his helpers unloaded and stacked the wood and were good about not leaving a mess. I haven't burned any wood from this load, but the wood I received from them the past 2 years has burned very well.

Called Stubby's & left a message to get firewood for use in our fire pit. Mat called back quickly. Because it is for use this summer, there was no urgency to deliver it quickly. Working around the rain, our travel & his schedule, he had it delivered within two weeks. It is nicely stacked & looks to be nice dry wood. They also carried some up onto the deck & filled the wood bin. A "fireplace cord" was $185.00, delivered & stacked, but there was extra left on the truck, so I purchased that also. I am very pleased with their responsiveness & would definitely use them again.
