I called Quality to have them check it out. They came when they said they would (45 minutes after I called) and confirmed it was the bearings. Given that it was a Saturday, he said he couldn't get a replacement unit until Monday morning, so he worked with the existing unit to oil the bearings and work with the unit to get it to a "stable" condition to last me the next couple of days. The repair alone did wonders and held as he said it would until they could come back with a replacement unit.
They called on Monday morning and said they had the part and could come install it any time I was ready. They were there in about 30 minutes. The entire installation took less than an hour.
Everyone I have dealt with at Quality has been very friendly, and professional.
The staff got us scheduled in quickly, and made recommendations to maximize our ROI and also fully utilize rebates to our advantage. They arrived when they said they'd arrive and were very professional and courteous. Mark and his staff were fabulous! They were very, very courteous to our family when they were here working and Mark spent a lot of time walking us through the new system, even helping us program the new digital thermostat system.
Hopefully we won't need them again anytime soon since we just purchased a new system, but if we do, we're calling them. They were great to work with and could not say enough about how nice and accommodating they were to us. Thank you!
First call end of June 2013, they said we needed a new evaporator coil. Service call $88.
Second call they replaced the evaporator coil $951.
Third call a couple weeks later A/C not cooling. They found another leak.
Fourth call a couple weeks later A/C not cooling. They found another leak.
This spring A/C not cooling. This time they decided the leak could only be in the pipe going from the A/C to the furnace which in our house runs under a cement slab. I was told by the repairman that it would probably run about $800-900, but the office would email me a quote. A week later the quote cam in at $1,865.
I let them know that we were disappointed in their service and quote. We feel that they had no idea what they were doing and never found the original leak.
The company I did call found the evaporator coils full of water and leaking.
When I received a follow up email from the tech on my quote a month later, I responded with my experience and how poor I thought it was but made sure to let the tech know I felt it was a management issue, not a reflection on him. Needless to say, I have not heard any response from management with an apology. I also advised them I would be writing this review so others could be aware of their management style or lack of it.
Thanks
Nancy
"Hi (member name removed), We are sorry that you were not satisfied with your experience, we strive to make improvements here at Quality Heating and appreciate your feedback. During the first heat wave of the summer it is always difficult to know our technicians exact schedules, we get very busy and some appointments run over their time. We want to give our customers our full attention at appointments and it is sometimes inconvenient to the next customer in line. Our technicians always make a call to alert the next customer when they are on their way. We understand that not everyone works where they can leave and needs to take time off, but unfortunately this is how the process has to be for our line of business. We were in the process of learning a new software dealing with our quotes and are very sorry that you experienced our services while we were working out the kinks. We hope you can relate that learning a whole new process can be tricky and we have learned from our mistakes and continue to try and improve our relationships with our customers to make it easier and more convenient to get a quote on services and products. Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope that you will give us the chance to improve your opinion on our business with your next heating/cooling need. Sincerely, Quality Heating & Air Services, Inc."
I received three estimates (all from Angie's list vendors) and they were the best price and the service was great.
