Description of Work: "Our driveway had settled and needed to be completely replaced. They tore out the old driveway, built up the surface, repaved the whole thing. They did a nice job. We chose Plehal because our neighbor had used them a number of years ago and their driveway still looks great."

Description of Work: Plehal removed our 29 year-old blacktop driveway and installed needed gravel base on which they put new blacktop. It is so nice and smooth and it's wonderful that the driveway is now level with the garage floor so one doesn't have to bump up alot when driving into the garage.

Description of Work: Their prices were great, but they took forever to actually do the work (several weeks). Communication was also poor. They didn't install an irrigation pipe I had previously communicated I wanted. Yes, I would use them again, but I would get everything in writing and an agreement on a start date that they are held to.

Description of Work: The company was quick to provide an estimate. The excavation of the old driveway was done well. The installation of the new driveway not so good. On one of the passes as they compress the asphalt with a large roller, there must have been sand/gravel on the roller and that was pressed into the driveway. This left a discolored path down the driveway. In addition the east side of the driveway was very crooked and did not look good. When we complained we received immediate attention. They tried several things to remove the discoloration which did not work. They did straighten the crooked border as best they could. For the discoloration they proposed sealing the driveway to cover that up. They committed to doing that next spring so that the asphalt can properly cure. We accepted this and consider the matter closed. I would still recommend this company to others based upon their efforts to correct the problems.

+ -1 morePlehal did a great job--they really stand behind their work, great at customer service, communication, quality workmanship. They also worked with us to give many neighbors quotes in an effort to help us get a group together. What a great company!
Description of Work: We had a cracked sagging driveway, Plehal removed the old driveway, filled in holes and tamped it all down. We then had almost weeks of rain and when it began to dry out, they came back and refilled areas that had been affected by the rain. They then put down the blacktop.

+ -1 moreThey replaced our driveway. The removal of the old asphalt was done as planned with no issues. The installation of the new asphalt had a problem. It was not graded to allow water to run away from the building. It took multiple calls to get them to resolve. The sales manager came out and said it was fine. I called the crew foreman and he came out and realized the grade was wrong and corrected it

+ -1 moreGreat experience working with Plehal. Both the estimator (Eddy) and the crew were on time and very easy to work with. Eddy worked with me to develop a price and SLA we could both live with. Crew performed quality work and did a great job in cleaning up after the job. I recommend this company. Only negative, I did have to call several times and stay on top of the scheduler, I believe his name was Marvin, to confirm the date and time when the work would be performed.

Description of Work: On day 1, they tore out the old driveway & garage aprons, filled in a depression at the edge of the garage, & prepared the surface. They also removed the grass along the sides. On day 2, they put in the new driveway (downhill, curving from 2-car garage, 40-50 feet).

I WOULD CALL TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WERE COMING AND THAT THEY SHOULD LET ME KNOW AND THEY WOULD JUST SHOW UP THE NEXT DAY. THEY GRADED THE DRIVEWAY IN THE FALL AND IT WAS HIGHER THAN OUR RETAINING WALL. SO THE ASPHALT WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER THE RETAINING WALL! THEY COULDN'T PUT THE ASPHALT DOWN UNTIL THE FOLLOWING SPRING/SUMMER. AGAIN, WE HAD TO CALL TO ASK THEM IF THEY WERE GOING TO COME FINISH OUT DRIVEWAY. OVERALL, THEIR RESPONSIVENESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS REALLY, REALLY BAD, BUT THE PRODUCT WAS GOOD. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM.
