Summary: Home Transformations saved me several thousand dollars I had planned to invest into re-siding my garage. Instead, they showed me it was still in good health, but did need several rows of planks and some trim replaced, and that the bad looking paint job I always hated, was actually the previous owner's attempt to use a light colored stain (not truly a paint job, at all, so it left exposed grain, and my visitors and I all thought it was just an unprimed paint job). Results: beautiful. Details look fresh. We had a great time getting to know this team. They're friendly, easy communicationm, and Kurt Meyer, the owner, guided me pretty painlessly through what (for me) are always some tough decisions with color choices. He has a remarkable eye. Owner and crew spent a week on carpentry, then a week on painting. We did a couple walk throughs to scope project detail, and we selected a terrific set of colors. They brought ideas I had not considered, which we used. My 35-year-old garage was so deteriorated, I was convinced it would need all new siding to look acceptable. Kurt viewed it with me and showed it had a solid structure and that by replacing deteriorated rows of wood siding, large and small trim, soffit/fascia - then prime and repaint - it would work. Now it looks like a brand new garage! Visitors say the same. House: 90-year old stucco. I'd done research already, as I know contractors and owners have all possible opinions on whether to paint stucco - from "never," to "you must". As mine was painted by a previous owner 15 years ago, and that paint job held up beautifully, it was strong evidence in favor of repainting it now. I learned that paint chosen specifically for stucco can be protective without trapping moisture. Goal: change the base color, match original stucco to new unpainted addition's new stucco, and change the trim color as well. Kurt's info filled in my knowledge gaps. His firm paints a lot of vintage stucco homes, so that was the expertise I wanted. Result: I'm still excited about how much I admire the look. The color palette Kurt suggested is a handsome finish for this home and works as a historical choice for its style. The new trim details enhances the architecture much better than before. Quality of application and choice of sheen quality, works beautifully, too. Kind of reminds me of a sepia toned photograph from the era - which just confirms how appropriate the choices and application were, to produce such a fine effect.

The project went well. The job took a bit longer than expected, but I've found that that's usually par for the course when it comes to working with contractors. Kurt was very nice to deal with and was very understanding with any frustration I may have had. Dave, the carpenter, was also a very nice person to deal with and was a very good carpenter. The painters did a great job and were very neat in cleaning up after they were done. Everything that this company did turned out beautifully.

I talked to four other painters prior to deciding to go with Home Transformations. Kurt Meyer came out to look at the house and to make estimate. I was impressed by his professionalism and willingness to discuss in depth job specifics. My perception was that a quality job was more important than just "painting a house". This was important to us because we intend on being in this house for at least another 5-10 years. Though his estimate was the second most expensive of the five estimates I received, we decided to go with them anyway. First a carpenter had to do some siding replacement - a bit more than expected on a fireplace chase that had hidden water damage internally. Once this was finished the painting crew proceeded to prime and paint house over a 4 day stretch. I thought a quality job was done throughout

The owner, Kurt, was confident and courteous throughout the entire process from bid to post-completion review. We received seven bids for the job, but it was Kurt's thorough explanation of his process, techniques, warranty and how he conducts his business which helped us decide to use Home Transformations. His bid was in-line with other reputable painting contractors, but we were certain that we would receive so much more for our money by using Kurt and his crew. The attention to detail exhibited by the Home Transformations Crew was outstanding! They were careful and skilled, showing a true mastery of their art. When we made specific requests, the crew was happy to oblige. Their enthusiasm and workmanship sets them far apart from any competition. We can't say enough about how pleased we are with the quality of their work. The crew stayed focused on our home for the entire duration of the job, and work was completed as promised within the time period we expected. The final invoice matched the bid price exactly, even though the scraping and other pre-paint prep took much more work than originally estimated. When we saw how much of the old paint the crew was able to remove, we knew that they were going about the job as professionals seeking a great outcome for their customer. Rather than pass the extra cost on to us, Kurt insisted on sticking by his project estimate and said that if we really wanted to contribute something further, that we should consider making a donation to our favorite charity! We are happy to recommend a good contractor, but we are ecstatic to recommend Home Transformations as a painting contractor. We will not hesitate to call them again!

It was a very good experience. Kurt and his team are professional, responsive and will do what it takes to get the job done. They were also very dilligent about cleaning up after themselves and did not disrupt the rest of the house during the job.

First day the crew arrived to prep for the interior of our home was awesome. They laid down paper on the floor and tape off all the areas that weren't going to painted.The crew worked very efficiently. Overall Home Transformations Inc; did a excellent job with the interior paint and we're very happy with the job they had done. They painted 10+ room from top to bottom, all the trims and doors too. They even took off wall paper which was tough to take off to begin with, so that was a nice additional plus to one of their services that Home Transformations Inc offered. The owner Kurt paid very close attention to our pacific needs of what we wanted done, which was awesome. Kurt was on top of making sure the work got done in a timely fashion, which was great because at that time we were living in the home when the painting was being done. The only reason why I'm giving this company a good/ fair rating was because Kurt the owner was suppose to come back and finish up some minor touch up painting on some of our doors, trims and cabinets. We never heard from him again, we called to touch base with Kurt but never got a call back. Even though Home transformations Inc did a overall excellent paint job, my husband and I are kind of disappointed that they didn't delivered a total home transformation. But we're willing to over look this because Kurt was such great guy.

Easy to work with. Was available before scheduled date, and contacted us to see if we wanted to move the date up. Completed work very quickly. Was available to come back on short notice when we decided to add a couple of additional small areas.

Kurt Meyers' team at Home Transformations made this SUCH an easy project. They were sympathetic with our dilemna (what we thought was an easy electrical installation had become a big renovation project) and recommended an ascetic approach that would give us a smooth, non-textured finish across our living room, dinette and kitchen (open floor plan). His work team came in and finished the job in two days. They taped up all the rooms for minimal dust, cleaned up after each visit, and even repaired some paint that came off the walls when the ceiling tape was removed. His men were courteous and industrious, and the finished ceiling is absolutely spotless, white and smooth. We have used this company before to paint our exterior 3-season porch, and they were courteous and efficient then, too. Highly recommend this company.

Kurt was very responsive and professional. He accommodated a time sensitive request to do some painting and other work to get our house on the market. His approach was very consultative in that he provided objective opinions on a broad span of work that we were considering. His crew were also very professional and very efficient. They did the work in a surprisingly short time frame and worked their butts off the whole while. In addition to doing a good job with the painting and other work, they did a good job cleaning up afterwards.

Kurt was very flexible in determining a start date and was able to get a crew started within a few days of accepting the job. The crew did a great job, they were finished in two days and the work looks spectacular. They did a great job cleaning up, very professional. I would use them again and would highly recommend them.

Kurt the owner and manager is extremely nice to work with. He is so helpful and professional with ideas and just so pleasant. The work was done over a period of time. He sent 5 men out for the painting so that it could all be done in one day which was great. They did an outstanding job and cleaned up as well. Kurt is great about checking on the progress of the work. He is also great about giving estimates and letting you know when the work can be done. The men that he has hired are very conscientous and the work is excellent. I am extremely happy with the moulding and the way it matches the existing cupboards. I have recommended him to others.

My overall experience was excellent. I can't say enough good things about Home Transformation Inc. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. The crew arrived on time and displayed an amazing skill set and took pride in the work they did. The crew never rushed or took shortcuts on any aspect of the project. Kurt met with me and the metal crew of our roofing company to assess the job. His bid was fair and prompt. We simply went to one of the several paint stores he recommended, chose a color from the paint he recommended and he did the rest. The ridge caps were picked up, restored very nicely and returned to our roofing crew just when they needed them. They look great and came in under budget! We look forward to working with Home Transformations on future projects.

Carlos and his assistant arrived on Tuesday and completed all of the prep work. The next two days the did all of the painting. Everything looked great. Not a spot on the newly sanded floor. The room has never looked so good. We would definitely hire them again!

Kurt's bid was timely and almost entirely in line with the end cost. His painting crew is extremely professional -- they do quality work, are quiet and polite and extremely neat. Overall, we had a very good experience with this company.

Kurt and his team are great! Kurt responded the same day to my request for an estimate. We were very nervous about how to treat the textured plaster walls in our 1928 tutor home and he was very helpful in explaining the skimcoating process and the expected outcome (although the walls are far more smooth and even than we expected!). Kurt gave us an estimate with each room and service broken out so we could easily determine which items were "must do" and which we could wait on to save money. Kurt's team was available within a couple of weeks and Carlos and his crew arrived on time, kept the rest of the house as clean as possible, and cleaned up the job site every day for the 7 days it took to complete the work. They were fast (which equals less cost!) and so very good. Our walls are incredibly smooth, and the ceiling and painting couldn't be better. Halfway through we changed course and removed the fireplace mantle and Kurt brought out a carpenter to talk me through our options, and Carlos patched and repaired the hole over the mantle. We also changed the paint color in the living room and dining room after the painting was complete and they did that change immediately. All in all, we paid less than we expected and the results and service were exceptional. Thanks!

Kurt and his crew did a LOT of work on my house this summer. The first project was an interior painting project that expanded to include new crown moulding, custom window trim, and baseboards throughout the living and dining areas. I had expected that I would have to hire someone else to do the carpentry work, but Home Transformations has a terrific carpenter--I worked with him and with Kurt to choose the style and appearance of the architectural details I was going for (I have a historic, cottage-style home and I wanted a look that was faithful to the pedigree of the house). It turned out beautifully. The quality of the work, both carpentry and painting, was even better than I had expected, and the result really was, dare I say it, a Home Transformation. It looks amazing. The exterior paint project involved removing a good bit of mold that had accumulated on my cedar siding. As an added bonus, Kurt's team also spray cleaned my decking in front and in back at no extra charge. How nice it is to be pleasantly surprised by something like that! The finished exterior paint looks great, too. Careful and thorough work throughout. Others have commented on Kurt himself, and I agree that he is a delight to work with: punctual, good communication, responsive to needs, and dedicated to making his customers happy. He seems to attract an equally dedicated, talented crew. I am very, very happy to have worked with Home Transformations.

Kurt was courteous and professional during the estimation process. He gave a rough timeline of when the work would start. I have a feeling Kurt's business is growing rapidly due to the quality, workmanship, and good reports on Angie's List. Consequently, I think Kurt tends to overcommit regarding start dates. It took a couple months and I had to pin him down for a firm date as to when the work would start. Some patience might be required before the project begins. Once the project started and I began to see the progress I could tell why his business is in demand. His woodworker did an excellent job of restoring rotten trim, and removing old cladding and replacing or repairing underlying wood. This was no small task on my undermaintained 1920's craftsman bungalow. The painting crew was equally as professional and quality oriented. They were meticulous about details and the cleanliness of the jobsite. Kurt's crews did a fair amount of unexpected work that I wasn't charged for, adding in that extra "wow" factor when the project was completed. My house truly was transformed and is now nearly fully restored and one of the 'gems' of the neighborhood. A little patience was required on this project but it was well worth it in the end.

We needed the work to be started by a specific date and had to remind Kurt to get the job rolling. The painters finished the preparation and painting very quickly and did a good job. The carpentry work started fairly late compared to the rest of the work, but the job was completed pretty quickly. The price was relatively consistent with other estimates.

Kurt worked with us to match the new paint colors to existing color scheme (as we didn't have the cans from the original paint). The crew showed up on the specified date and time and--allowing for a few rainy days during which they could not paint--completed the job in the specified time. The crew was friendly and competent. They masked off windows, exterior light fixtures, and other things that were not to be painted. After painting, they removed the masking. They cleaned up after themselves each day. Kurt was in regular communication during the painting period. He helped us solve a problem with some entry doors that we waited too long to refinish. He presented several options for dealing with the bottom panel of the doors which had discolored. We ended up having him install stainless kick-plates that look great and will protect the doors in the future. They also replaced a vent for a bathroom fan and removed nesting material from the duct (a broken fin on the vent had allowed birds to get in). There were a few spots that needed touching up. Kurt was responsive and made sure the touch-ups were completed to our satisfaction. Kurt stayed in touch during the entire process, keeping us up-to-date on how things were going. Also, my partner and I were traveling when the work was being done, so we had to "pass the baton" a few times. Kurt was flexible and rolled with the changes. We can't say enough about how responsive and professional Kurt and his crew were. We will need some interior painting done soon. We plan to use Home Transformations!

The job was very well done. We took advantage of some decorating consultation from a local paint store. They arrived promptly, they helped us by assisting with moving of larger furniture, and totally protected carpeting, and large objects. The crew of four worked efficiently and completed the painting of our living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom (including ceilings) in one day. Clean up was thorough. The work was professional and the estimate was fair and there were no surprises.

Kurt came over to give me an estimate and was very helpful with choosing a shade of white. The painter showed up on time and completed the job in one day. The walls are perfect ! No matter what angle you look at them from, or in whatever light, you can't see the ridges from the old repair. And the room was spotless after his cleanup. I definitely will use them again.
