Kurt was on time and before the bid was started, I asked a favor of this stranger. My smoke alarm in the great room with 12 foot ceilings needed a new battery and was beeping. I was hesitant to change it myself. As I am under 5' even a very tall ladder does not really get me comfortably close to the detector. So I asked if he would get up on the ladder and change it for me and he graciously obliged. I think that kind of service deserves a mention whether I end up accepting his bid or not.

Workers were prompt, polite. Kurt explained the "rosy" and "not so rosy" scenarios for the wallpaper removal during the estimate and kept us updated during the progress so there were no surprises.

It went very well. Kurt came out the day after we contacted him and gave us a bid within 24 hrs. They were able to fit us into their schedule almost immediately and everything went smoothly. They crew was very nice and finished sooner than expected.

Barely squeezed it in before the end of the 2016 season, but aided by a warm fall, they got vines removed and almost all the painting done. We couldn't get a carpenter at the last minute to do needed repairs, so there is a little bit left to do next spring. But very profession service, good communication, devoted substantial manpower to get the job done before the onset of cold weather. I will use them again for another project next spring.

The painters were punctual, fast, and professional. The stairwell looks extremely well and matches the adjoining rooms perfectly. I would recommend and hire again; very pleased with the results.

I asked them to come while I was gone so I wouldn't be in the way. When I returned they (2 men) were almost finished with a job well done. They cleaned up after themselves and were very friendly and helpful. Kurt (owner) was also very helpful with choosing the colors and meeting my expectations, I would certainly call them again!

Overall it went well, they completed the work in October and the results are impressive. The house looks great. The painters were professional and just generally nice guys. All you needed to do was watch them to see how much care they took when painting our house. Again great job. Some background: Originally our house was scheduled to be painted in late July/early August. The work started mid-August when our house was power-washed. Unfortunately, when they did this, they discovered that some of our shakes were rotted and needed to be replaced prior to painting. Kurt worked with his carpenter to make the appropriate arrangements for a bid. Unfortunately the carpenter was booked until early fall which made me nervous due to weather. Kurt worked with his carpenter to ensure that the job was coordinated and was completed prior to winter. When looking at the total cost and other bids we received, Kurt provided the better value for the cost.

Home Transformations did a great job! Kurt came out within a week to look at the job. He was very courteous and professional and took his time to make sure nothing was missed. (We had a different company paint our exterior just a few years earlier and we were very unhappy with their work.) When we received Kurt's bid in the mail, we felt was very reasonable and sent in the deposit to secure a spot on their calendar. It was a very busy summer for house painters in general due to the amount of rain we received, so our job started a little later than planned, but it was well worth the wait. Conor did an unbelievable job painting our home even though our job turned into a much larger project than anticipated. Once he started scraping the shakes, he found that the previous paint just came off in sheets. This was something that he had not anticipated. He met with us and explained that the job would take longer than expected, but he wanted to make sure it was done right. We were so impressed with Conor's attention to detail. We had never seen our painted columns look so good. We will definitely hire them again for any future painting project, interior or exterior. Excellent experience!

We could not be happier. Kurt and his team transformed the stained maple cabinetry into a bright white enameled finish. They also turned the green walls into a pale almond color with no hints of the green remaining. It truly was a transformation! They refreshed the white cabinetry elsewhere in the house and turned the master bath and two other bathrooms into bright, clean spaces with the excellent job they did. The bedroom they painted bears no resemblance to the light blue room it once was (which is exactly what we wanted), and the living room wall was restored and fixed to show no signs of wall anchors. Not only was the work done well, but they finished on October 19th, ahead of their promised time. Kurt mentioned that they strive to meet all critical deadlines and once again they did not disappoint. We actually noticed that the crew was finishing up until almost 9pm on the 19th to meet the deadlines. When we got in the house it was like no one had been painting for the last week, they left the house clean and tidy. Finally, it would be remiss of me to not acknowledge that the bid Kurt gave was the in the middle of a very tight band of estimates. He prices accurately as compared to his competitors but the service and craftsmanship make us feel like we got more than our money's worth.

Phenomenal, excellent, 5 stars, A+, all the great things you can say can be said for Kurt and his crew. We are in love with our house, it was truly a transformation. The thing that struck me the most was the kindness and professionalism of the crew. They were so friendly to my family and me. The work they did was so wonderful, paying attention to every last detail. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking to transform their home, the name does not lie!

We were on a tight timeline because we were getting our house ready to list & Kurt was very responsive to that and worked to get our project done before our deadline. The new paint looks great. We're very happy with it and would use this company again.

Service was excellent. Crew was polite and informative. They did an excellent job scraping and sanding the house so you can't tell where the chipped paint had been. They cleaned up their supplies each night. They were truly hard workers and put in time on Saturdays and even Mother's Day as rain was expected later that evening! Have had comments from my neighbors that the house looks really great, considering what it looked like after all the sanding! While the price was a bit high compared to other quotes we received, I don't think the other companies would have spent near the same amount of time and effort on the prep work (sanding, scraping, and caulking). I am very happy with the results so I would say they are certainly worth the price.

Kurt was great to work with! We called a few different companies for bids on our deck. Kurt met with my wife promptly after we contacted him and took time to explain the process and timing. I had follow up questions for him and he was patient with my questions that were probably similar questions he answered for my wife. As for timing, we knew that this is a busy time for outside painting, but Kurt thought it could be done in the next few weeks. To our delighted surprise, Kurt fit us in the following week. The crew was professional, cleaned up after themselves and did a wonderful job. They prepared all the areas to be refinished, waited a few days for it to dry, sanded areas that needed it, and applied the new stain. Our outside areas look new again and ready for summer. Kurt was very professional and knowledgeable, and the painting quality was excellent. He has a very skilled team. We are pleased with the results. The reason I can't give Home Transformations an A is repeated communications issues. To begin with, after I signed the bid and sent it in with the down payment, I heard nothing back for well over a month. I finally called to ask if we were on the schedule, and painters showed up a few days later and did most of the work within three days. However, some of the work required carpentry (we needed a window frame in the garage and the threshold of the back door replaced), so they left those undone for the time. That would have been fine, except they apparently forgot to tell the carpenter. After a few weeks, I called to ask when he was coming, and he showed up unannounced a couple days later. He did good work (for an additional $800) and was done in two days. A couple weeks later, I called again to ask when the painters were coming back to finish the job. They came back a couple days later and finished the rest of the work that day. A week later, I called to ask if they'd like to pick up their ladder, which they did the following day. The final problem came up when I received the bill. The work has included 5 window openings at $140 each, but I was billed for 15 openings, putting the total cost $1400 above what I'd expected. Apparently, whoever was supposed to count the openings counted all of our window openings, not just the ones they painted. Kurt was very cooperative about the billing error. He said they had a much greater volume of work in 2015 than in previous years, and this had overwhelmed his previous system for coordinating jobs. He was hiring a business manager to make sure this kind of problem doesn't occur again. Assuming that worked, I would recommend this company to anyone. They did excellent work at a much lower price than the other contractors bid on my job (I called four), they were the most professional outfit during the bidding process, and Kurt is a genuinely decent and honest man. Since these communications problems and delays were quite frustrating, however, I would not recommend Home Transformations unless later reviews indicate that my problems were the exception instead of the new rule of how they function.

Went very well. The 2-man crew was fast, efficient, and left no mess at all, including at the end of each day. Job took 4 full days. Workers were very quiet and pleasant. I would use Kurt's company again. I was new in town so finding people can be a challenge but the ratings on Angie's list for this company are spot on. Thanks!

Kurt met with my husband and I, prior to us closing on a home that way we could get a bid. He was very honest and upfront and told us his team of painters could get the job done on the deadline we needed. We gave them a huge project. We turned all the woodwork from a standard wood color to white. They painted doors, cabinets, trim, built in's. Then they also painted walls for us. They met our tight deadline. The house looks amazing. If I could post pictures I would. It turned out stunning. Everyone that we showed our home to is in love with the transformation that happened. Other companies told us it would take a month to complete our makeover and Kurt's team got it done in 6 days. We trusted them with our home and they did not disappoint. There was about 5-6 painters I believe working on our home daily. Our neighbors also said the painters were all very nice and respectful anytime they needed to paint out in the driveway. We would reccomend this company very highly! It cost a lot to do what we needed but the result was great.

What a positive experience!! Kurt came over in May and gave me an estimate. I accepted and was to be fit in as the Summer unfolded, which was great with me. They arrived at the day and time we agreed upon. There was a team of guys who moved the furniture, and prepped the walls and baseboards. Before I knew it they were painting. I had asked for low VOC paint as I have asthma - it hardly smelled it at all. They were a fantastic, professional team that did a beautiful job. Then Kurt's new guy stopped by and scraped and painted the outside railing. It did not look that good brand new. The guys finished up, (even washing the hardwood floor) they put the furniture back and left. It looks like a new house. I would use this contractor again in a minute. I have never hired a painter before and I am beyond pleased!! I will certainly share this with my neighbors and friends.

Kurt is very professional and responsive to all our questions and gave us some useful direction in what was possible in a touch-up job. our paint is about 13 years old and we didn't want a complete job--just freshen up the interior and take care of any bare wood or peeling paint outside. make it look good but we didn't want to change colors and repaint everything. we're very satisfied.

They finished in one day. No spills/drips. Excellent painting job. I have nothing negative to say.

Kurt is very professional as was his crew. He answered all my questions and made me feel as though I could trust him with the project. His crew was clean and courteous. The house looks great, even the areas where the siding was heavily worn look new again.

After we reached out to Kurt in 2014 through Angie's List he came out to see our house for a quote (basic exterior repairs plus house painting). We never heard back from him after that - never received a quote. We reached again in 2015 through Angie's List and while Kurt replied initially with recommended times, when we replied about whether he had our quote we never heard back again. We're tired of trying to chase Kurt and Home Transformations for a quote. We'll look elsewhere and recommend others do as well.

Kurt and his crew did a great job. We wanted suggestions on color and Kurt did a consultation with us and helped pick out the perfect color to match our stone work throughout the main level. The crew was very considerate and did a great job. We love the finished product.
