They were on-time and completed everything that was asked of them. Tom Sr. was VERY knowledgeable and reasonable and was able to explain what they were going to do and why. The workers who installed the furnace also were courteous and answered all of our questions.

I didn't realized our boiler wasn't working until 3pm one January day. I called Boehm Heating, and they were able to send someone over within an hour. He was unable to fix the problem to his satisfaction so his father came by that evening to complete the job. Boehm had installed the boiler and zone controls only a few years ago. They felt that the parts ought not have failed so soon and so they contacted the manufacturer to have the cost of the parts reduced. I could not have been happier with the service we received. I was grateful to have a warm house again that night.

I was sick of dry air and wanted a central humidifier installed as soon as possible. Boehm was very upfront about the price $275 or $375, depending on the size of the unit (we went with the more powerful one), but they said that it probably wouldn't be installed for a couple weeks since the beginning of winter was their busy season. For this reason, I continued to shop around. I found another place that would install one the next day, but they wouldn't give me a price (said they would come out and quote me on the spot, and that it would cost me 75 bucks to turn them down). That sounded a little shady. Other places would also take a few weeks to install, and they quoted between $350-900 for the installation of the same type of unit. In the end, we came back to Boehm and they ended up installing it a few days later anyway! Mike was quick and clean. I am very satisfied with both, the work and the product, for over a month now.

Extremely unpleasant and a complete waste of my time.

The first time I called I was told that Tom was out of the office and he would be given a message about my request to add to my boiler. I called again the next day and was told that Tom was in a meeting and that he would be given a message. Obviously there is more money in the initial installation than there is in expanded the service area of the boiler so I was not given a return call. Pretty poor service for someone who made a lot of money on the initial installation. I'm sure there is no record of my call.

These folks are exceptional. Our boiler started leaking like crazy when my husband was out of town. We had emergency service (11pm) from a different vendor who told us that we needed a new boiler. I contacted Boehm at about 10am on Wednesday. Jeff came out later that day. He was thorough, professional and patient in educating me. His quote came in more than $1000 lower than another A-rated vendor. We OK'd the bid late Wednesday. Jeff was out Thursday morning by 8:00 to start the work. He and his Dad did the work, and his grandfather, the company founder, stopped by to check in. 3 generations of one family working on our boiler - we felt well taken care of! They expected the work to require 2 days, but they completed it in one day - in less than 36 hours from my initial call to them. They were courteous and professional, and the work cost exactly what they said it would cost. We are fortunate to have these people as part of our community.

TOM WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CONSCIENTIOUS. HE REARRANGED OTHER JOBS TO GET US OUR NEW FURNACE AND HEAT BACK IN OUR HOUSE. HE WAS A GREAT HELP IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION.

VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE. TOM JR. GAVE US THE ESTIMATE. WE WERE VERY CLOSE TO ACCEPTING HIS BID, WHICH WAS AMONG THE LOWEST OF FIVE BIDS WE RECEIVED, BUT CHOSE ANOTHER COMPANY FOR WANT OF A BRAND THAT BOEHM DOES NOT INSTALL. TOO BAD, BECAUSE HIS ASSESSMENT OF THE WORK THAT WOULD NEED TO BE DONE WAS SOLID, AND I FELT LIKE I COULD REALLY FEEL AT EASE KNOWING THAT HE WOULD BE OVERSEEING THE INSTALLATION. YOU COULD TELL THAT HE HAD INSTALLED QUITE A FEW UNITS IN HIS DAY AND KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HIS BROAD KNOWLEDGE OF A/C MANUFACTURING AND THE ELABORATE NETWORK OF PARTS SUPPLIERS WAS EQUALLY IMPRESSIVE. WHOEVER DECIDES TO GO WITH BOEHM WILL LIKELY BE HAPPY CUSTOMERS.

SERVICE COMPANIES DON'T COME ANY BETTER THAN THIS. TOM BOEHM, JR. NOT ONLY SELLS THE EQUIPMENT, HE INSTALLS IT TOO. HE'S VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ENTHUSIASTIC. AND HE DIDN'T TRY TO SELL ME ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE UNIT. THE CREW (JACK, MARK, OMER) WORKED LIKE A WELL-OILED MACHINE. AND THEY WERE SO QUIET! THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF TEACHING ME THE INS AND OUTS OF MY NEW SYSTEM. THEY LEFT MY BASEMENT CLEANER THAN IT WAS WHEN THEY ARRIVED. ALL THIS AND THEIR BID WAS THE LOWEST TOO. ALL IN ALL A WONDERFUL FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED, LONG-ESTABLISHED BUSINESS.

KNOWLEDGEABLE, MADE RECOMMENDATIONS TO SAVE FUTURE COSTS, QUICK RESPONSE, NICE GUY.

BOEHM SEEM TO REALLY KNOW THEIR BUSINESS. BASED ON THIS ESTIMATE [AND A PREVIOUS CLEANING OF AN OLD FURNACE] I WOULD BE CONFIDENT USING THEM IN THE FUTURE. THE REASON I CHOSE ANOTHER COMPANY WAS THAT I GOT SEVERAL ESTIMATES, BUT ANOTHER COMPANY, WHICH SEEMED EQUALLY COMPETENT, WAS MORE PUNCTUAL, HAD A SLIGHTLY BETTER PRICE ON INSTALLING A HIGH-EFFICIENCY MODEL, AND OFFERED A BRAND [LENNOX] THAT WAS MADE IN THE US AND THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET BETTER RATINGS INFO ON.

TOM AND THE INSTALLERS WERE GREAT TO WORK WITH. TOM PREPARED ESTIMATES BASED ON A COUPLE OF BRAND OPTIONS. THE INSTALLERS ARRIVED PROMPTLY AND LEFT THE AREA CLEAN. THEY RETURNED A FEW DAYS LATER TO MITIGATE SOME MINOR NOISE ISSUES (ENLARGING A PRIMARY AIR RETURN AND WRAPPING SOME PIPES TO THE AC). THE COMPANY PROVIDED ALL THE PAPERWORK WE NEEDED TO EASILY OBTAIN MANUFACTURER AND UTILITY REBATES. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. LOWEST QUOTE WE RECEIVED AND COMPLETED AT THE QUOTED PRICE. WE FOUND BOEHM TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND VERY PRACTICAL IN THEIR APPROACH TO RECOMMENDING A REPLACEMENT BOILER. WHILE THEY CARRY HIGH EFFICIENCY MODELS, THEIR RECOMMENDATION WAS LESS EXPENSIVE AND MORE APPROPRIATE FOR OUR HOUSE AND CIRCUMSTANCES. ABOVE ALL, THEY SEEM LIKE A COMPANY WE COULD COUNT ON. THE ENTIRE PROJECT TOOK ABOUT A DAY AND A HALF, BUT THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE IN WORKING WITH OUR SCHEDULES FOR INSTALLATION. OVERALL A GREAT EXPERIENCE. WE WOULD DEFINITELY CALL THEM AGAIN FOR ANY MATTER RELATED TO HEATING.

TOM SR. CAME OUT AND DID A VERY THOROUGH ESTIMATE, INCLUDING COUNTING EVERY FIN IN EVERY RADIATOR, WHICH ALLOWED HIM TO CALCULATE ACCURATELY THE APPROPRIATE SIZE BOILER NEEDED BASED ON THE TOTAL AREA OF THE RADIATORS. THE ESTIMATOR FROM ANOTHER COMPANY DIDN'T EVEN GLANCE AT THE RADIATORS, YET ALONE COUNT THEM OR DETERMINE THEIR SIZES, SO I WAS IMPRESSED WITH BOEHM'S ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THE ONLY ISSUE WAS I WASN'T INFORMED WHEN THEY WOULD COME INSTALL THE BOILER AFTER ASBESTOS ABATEMENT COMPANY WAS DONE REMOVING THE OLD UNIT. I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT THEY USUALLY COME THE FOLLOWING DAY. I WAITED AROUND THE NEXT MORNING FOR A WHILE AND HAD TO CALL THE OFFICE TO SEE IF THEY WERE COMING. THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO DO THE WORK THAT DAY, SO I HAD TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A FEW DAYS LATER. OTHER THAN THAT I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK BOTH OF THE SUB-CONTRACTED ASBESTOS ABATEMENT COMPANY AS WELL AS THE BOILER INSTALLATION BY BOEHM.

SPOKE WITH AMANDA TO SCHEDULE. SHE SAID THEY DON'T DO THAT DURING HEATING SEASON [CALLED IN SEPTEMBER]. I EXPLAINED THAT WE'RE FINISHING OUR BASEMENT AND NEED TO DETERMINE WHETHER TO GO WITH THE HIGH VELOCITY SYSTEM OR TRADITIONAL FORCED AIR BEFORE WE CLOSED UP THE BASEMENT ACCESS. SHE SAID NO. I ASKED IF SHE MEANT SHE'D RATHER I GO TO A DIFFERENT BUSINESS INSTEAD OF HERS. SHE SAID ''FINE, GO AHEAD.'' MUST BE NICE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE OR ACQUIRING NEW CUSTOMERS. I WOULDN'T USE THIS COMPANY BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE. IT'S A SHAME, BECAUSE THE OWNERS PROBABLY DON'T KNOW THAT THIS WOMAN IS TREATING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS POORLY.

I HAD TOM SR. COME OUT TO GIVE ME A BID. BID WAS ILLEGIBLE AND AMBIGUOUS. I HAD TO MAKE NUMEROUS CALLS TO TRY TO GET A HOLD OF THEM. HE NEVER RETURNED MY CALLS. RATHER THAN COME OUT AND SAY THAT HE DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE ON THE WORK BECAUSE HE WAS BUSY, HE JUST KEPT PUTTING ME OFF. MANY THINGS WERE LEFT OUT OF BID. MY REASON FOR CALLING HIM WAS TO CLARIFY HIS BID. WHEN I PRESSED HIM ON IT, HE WOULDN'T RETURN CALLS AND THEN FINALLY TOLD HIS SECRETARY TO TELL ME HE WASN'T INTERESTED IN THE JOB.

CALLED ASKING ABOUT VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS/REPAIRS TO MY BOILER AND HOT WATER SYSTEM. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME IN A DAY OR TWO. I CALLED AGAIN 2 WEEKS LATER. RECEIVED A CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY EXPLAINING THAT THEY ARE ALWAYS BACKED UP ON WORK FOR AT LEAST 6 WEEKS (EXCEPT IN MAY) AND IMPLIED I SHOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE. YES, I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

THE REPAIR PERSON WAS ON TIME, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND VERY POLITE. WE WERE SO IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE THAT THREE WEEKS LATER WHEN OUR UNIT ONCE AGAIN STOPPED PRODUCING COLD AIR, WE CALLED THEM AND TOM JR. CAME OUT TO SIMPLY LOOK OVER OUR UNIT AGE AND CONNECTIONS FOR POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. HE RECOMMENDED WE CHANGE THE AIR FILTER AND SEE IF THAT WOULD HELP. HE DID NOT CHARGE FOR THIS VISIT AND WANTS US TO CALL HIM WHEN WE ARE USING OUR AC AGAIN SO HE CAN CHECK FURTHER FUNCTIONS. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE AC AND FURNACE AND WE PROBABLY WILL BE USING THEIR COMPANY TO REPLACE OUR OLD AND WORN OUT SYSTEMS. WILL REPORT ON FUTURE TRANSACTIONS.

WE FOUND TOM BOEHM AND HIS EMPLOYEES TO BE PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH AND CAREFUL. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS AND WHY THEY WERE DOING THINGS THE WAY THAT THEY DID. THEY DID NOT OVERSELL EITHER THE PRODUCT OR THE SYSTEM; YET THEY OFFERED OPTIONS WHERE CALLED FOR. IN GENERAL, THEY TOOK THE TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT AND TO OFFER AS MUCH EXPLANATION AS WE MIGHT WANT.

I WOULD RECOMMEND BOEHM HEATING TO EVERYONE I KNOW. AFTER NOT BEING TREATED VERY WELL BY ANOTHER COMPANY, I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY. TOM BOEHM, JR. KNEW EVERYTHING ABOUT HEATING AND COOLING. I WANTED DUCTS TO GO TO THE SECOND LEVEL BUT TOM ADVISED AGAINST IT. THIS WAS BUSY SEASON FOR THEM AND IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE -- JUST SUPPLY AND DEMAND. HE SAID I SHOULD HAVE THIS WORK DONE IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER WHEN THEY WERE LESS BUSY; IT WOULD COST LESS. IN ANTICIPATION OF THIS, HE RECOMMENDED AN A/C UNIT WITH THE CAPACITY TO COOL BOTH THE DOWNSTAIRS AND UPSTAIRS WHENEVER WE DECIDE TO PUT THE ADDITIONAL DUCT WORK IN. TOM WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HIS INSTALL TEAM WAS ALSO EXCELLENT, JUST GREAT PEOPLE TO HAVE WORK ON MY HOUSE. MY WIFE AND I ARE REALLY PLEASE WITH THE WORK AND TREATMENT WE RECEIVED FROM TOM AND HIS CREW. THANKS SO MUCH.

BOEHM HEATING IS A RELATIVELY SMALL FAMILY RUN COMPANY WITH OVER 50 YEARS EXPERIENCE. THE OWNER JIM AND HIS SON JEFF PERFORMED THE INSTALLATION. THE INSTALLATION WAS DONE IN A TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER. THE PRICE WAS IN LINE WITH COMPETITORS. THE UNITS RUN PERFECTLY AND LOOK DECENT. BOEHM ALSO COVERED THE EXPOSED EXTERIOR LINES SO THEY DON'T LOOK AS ''UGLY''

I WAS PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. IT WAS ON TIME AND EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO CERTIFY THE HEATING SYSTEM TO SELL MY HOUSE.

THIS WASN'T AN EMERGENCY JOB, BUT BOEHM CAME OUT TO DO THE WORK THE DAY AFTER WE CALLED. TOM JR. WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE INSTALLED THE PUMP QUICKLY AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS DOING. THE PRICE WAS MORE THAN A THIRD LESS THAN THE QUOTE WE GOT FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. OUR HEAT IS NOW MUCH MORE EVEN THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE.

I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT JIM BOEHM AND HIS SON JEFFREY. THEY DID ALL THE WORK THEMSELVES, EXPLAINED CLEARLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND WHY, AND EVEN MOPPED MY FLOOR WHEN THEY WERE DONE!

TOM JR. CAME OUT AND DID THE ESTIMATE. I DIDN'T LIKE HIS STYLE. HE STARTED OUT BY GETTING VERY TECHNICAL AND MAKING GRAND STATEMENTS ABOUT HOW GREAT THEIR COMPANY IS AND HOW OTHER PEOPLE DON'T CHECK STUFF THEY DO. AT ONE POINT WHEN I ASKED ABOUT HOW MUCH SOME ELECTRICAL WORK WOULD COST, HE SAID ''NOT AS MUCH AS YOU PEOPLE THINK''. MAKES ME WONDER WHAT ELSE HE THINKS OF ''US PEOPLE''. I DO THINK THAT THEY PROBABLY DO GOOD WORK AND THEY HAVE LOTS OF OTHER GOOD COMMENTS ON HERE, BUT I DIDN'T LIKE THIS GUY.
