Boehm Heating & Air Conditioning

Initial quote and contract went fairly smoothly, but warm period in early summer seemed to overwhelm company and it was difficult to contact them and get work scheduled. Complicating thing was that the chimney was being removed, so some work had to be interrupted. Workers were cooperative and efficient, but thought they should have caught the damage to the cover piece during the installation and started replacement efforts on their own. Far too many phone calls were necessary to get things done. After part was replaced, fan made a lot more noise and cover screw was missing. The fix for the noise was sheet metal screws driven through the blades into the supporting arms. I complained that this is not acceptable in a new unit and have again made numerous calls and e-mails to distributors and manufacturers - so far without resolution.

I called on a Wednesday and left a message. The call was returned within 10 minutes. We scheduled the repair for Friday afternoon (12:30-3:30). It went exceedingly well. The tradesman showed up within the stated time slot and did the maintenance and repairs in my presence explaining everything to me as we went. I learned a lot. I now know how to look after my heating system much more competently and confidently. He wrote up the bill and explained it to me. He left the work area clean and tidy. I will certainly call them again in the future.

I was very pleased. I got 3 competitive bids and actually went to their shop to hear the furnace. Very customer friendly. I spoke with them a couple times before purchasing. Cleaned up everything when they were done. Did a nice job.

I have used Boehm before at our old house and had a good experience. This was quite the opposite. Tom Jr. was the person who came to do a tune up and found the initial problem. Within the next couple of days, I received a call saying that Tom Sr. wanted to come out and look at it because "he didn't trust Tom Jr." When he came out to look, he said that our job was small and they would fit it in on one of their "clean-up days." He wouldn't give a repair date, but did say "call if you get nervous." When it started to get cold, I called them twice and asked them to take out the leaking radiator and cap it as a temporary fix so we could use the heat. I didn't get a response until after I had hired someone else. Tom Jr. called me to say I would have to pay for what he done to date. I said how unhappy I was with how this was handled. I wanted an apology; instead he accused me of knowing there was a leak. Why would I let a radiator leak and ruin the ceiling below? I had nothing to gain by that

I had met with Tom Boehm Jr. to talk through options. I had gotten 4 bids. Theirs was the cheapest and he took the time to fit the unit that would work for us and fit our house. I felt like I was able to get what I wanted plus some because the bid was a little lower than others. Addressed my concern about water heater, Amana vs. Goodman brand and reliability. Overall they did what they said they would. Got the furnace in within the two weeks they promised.

Boehm arrived within the stated time frame. They checked the boiler for various safety features and then cleaned the pilot and burners. They found a bad pilot lead that needs replacement (separate trip required). They were very knowledgeable and helpful in answering my various questions. Highly recommended.

I called several companies to identify costs for boiler maintenance. Boehm's price was competitive. The service guy arrived within the hour and a half appointment window and performed the maintenance in less than an hour. He also checked the valves and condition of several radiators that I had concerns with. It was a very pleasant experience and I would certainly consider hiring them for any major repair work in the future.

Tom Sr. came to check out the furnace and to determine need. He told us we DO NOT need a new furnace and just need to route the air differently. His company did the initial install of the furnace we now have. He said we would be wasting money and that the furnace we have may need a tune up, but not a replacement. Another company came and bid on the job at $8,000.00!!!

Tom Boehm Jr. responded to my email and made an appointment to give us an estimate. My husband was very impressed with Tom and appreciated his ideas for ductwork that would even out some of the heating and cooling zones in the house. The work was done on the day and time that we were told. It was done efficiently and the area cleaned up afterward. We received a couple of follow-up calls to be sure we were happy. They also were very helpful about helping us get the energy rebate on the work.

We had a very good experience. Our estimate from Tom, Jr. was very concise and the work was completed exactly as stated. He had very good advice on how to solve our duct problem.

Words are not adequate to express how happy we were with the Boehm team. Throughout the process, Tom and his staff were punctual, responsive, informative and clean - absolute professionals. The Boehm estimate was literally almost HALF of the other estimates. I think Boehm appreciated our flexibility with scheduling - my husband is home days - and we weren't on a strict timetable for the Summer. That way, they could fit us in between other scheduled projects with just a phone call to see if someone was home. We ended up not needing the chimney liner and Tom made a price adjustment without any problem. The project ended up coming in under $4K which was a huge relief, since this is our first house and money is always tight. And we LOVE the cute red boiler! We have never been SO happy to pay $4K to anyone. It is a great feeling to go into the Winter, with such a positive experience and a little money left in the savings account. We're customers for life!

It went really well, way easier than I expected. Tom Sr., (who did the estimate) is a good guy, really knows his stuff. We made a last minute (literally) change to a different boiler based on some new info I provided. Boehm handled the last minute shift very professionally. The guys that came to do the work (Dave and I don't remember his co-worker's name, but a nice, young guy) were great. They were friendly and professional. They were here from around 9:30 AM until about 6:30 PM. I hardly knew they were here! They were really conscientious about keeping the house clean, shutting the exterior door after their many trips in/out, etc. Dave gave me a little walk-through on the boiler system before they left. It was a hot day and the basement was stifling but these guys retained their good attitude throughout the day. They worked quietly and quickly. Very impressive. Since it's not yet heating season, I haven't had occasion to use the boiler yet, but I'm sure it'll be great.

one was 12,000 units and the other 9,000 units. I would certainly refer them.

Tom Boehm performed the estimate and was great to work with. Tom was friendly and worked quickly while adding a lot of color with stories and explanations of how our system worked. This happened during a heat spell (of course) and Tom knew he was backed up for a while. He tried everything he could one evening to revive our old unit to get it going for a couple days until he could replace it. It was too far gone. He replaced it within 2 days. The next Saturday a worker installed a condensate pump, rerouted a supply, and began installing the new 2nd floor supply. Tom explained that their priority during the heat was to get AC going and since ours was in, the rest of our install was postponed. About 2 weeks later we called and got another worker to come out to add a return and finish the 2nd floor supply. We always needed a window AC upstairs before, but with the extra air we are finally comfortable without one!

Tom Jr. gave an estimate for a new furnace and recommended some duct changes to improve air flow. The work was performed promptly and the employees were professional.

Tom Boehm visited twice to determine exact needs and give an estimate. Spent a lot of time explaining my options and answering my questions. Installation had one hitch -- a defective part -- but they were able to replace it within 48 hours. Tom followed up with me when the very first hot days arrived. He came out and explained how to adjust the dampers properly for winter and summer, and for each of the three floors. I was very satisfied with the service provided!

They did a great job. We were sitting in our house freezing, so we were happy to see them pull up. They showed up later than they said they would, and I had to call them to find out why (they were servicing another house that had pipes burst).

Price was great, service was excellent, did it on time or even a little a head of time.

Job 1: Gas company had shut down boiler due to gas leak. Boehm came out the next day and turned it back on and re-installed controller that had been improperly installed by another company. Job 2: Job went very well, as I had expected, as Boehm has a very good reputation and a lot of experience with this type of work. Boehm crew arrived on day one and disconnected the old boilers, cut off old pipes and prepared for installation. Old boilers were removed on day two by asbestos abatement company. New boilers were installed on day three. (These were not three full workdays; the crews just had to take turns.) The amount of work those fellows did in such a short time was just incredible, and they knew how to handle absolutely everything, down to an errant old doorbell that wouldn't stop buzzing.

Furnace install went great. Installers did a good job and cleaned up after themselves. However, they weren't informed about an air duct that needed to be connected to the basement. This was a short, 6 foot run. I talked to Tom Jr. about finishing this when we set up the install. They started the work and promised to finish it on a later day. (This is a separate duct run than before when I had called.) However, no one came back to finish the duct. I called Tom Jr. and he gave me the runaround and couldn't commit a day or time to come out. After 2 months of waiting, I had to leave a message with Tom Sr. for something to get done. Tom Jr. called me later that day, and that same day, he came out and finished the duct. I wouldn't recommend working with Tom Jr., make sure you request Tom Sr. if you decide to work with this company.

Tom Boehm (3rd generation in the business) gave us the quote, followed up on all our questions and supervised the work on installation day. He and his crew were efficient and polite and got the work done in no time. The company is a small family owned company and you really feel that in the care that they put into their work. Tom came up with creative and cost-efficient ways to resolve issues that were specific to our home. He didn't try to sell us another piece of equipment, but replaced/added ductwork for a permanent fix. We would recommend them without hesitation.

We had called them at an extremely busy time of the year, and they couldn't give us a start-date. However, they called us a few days later, and told us they had finished another project earlier than expected, and that they'd be at our house the following day to install the liner. I came home from work while they were connecting the liner to the boiler. Their installation team members were very courteous, and did an outstanding job. They were quite happy to answer all of my questions, and cleaned up completely before leaving the house. I appreciate very much the fact that Boehm was willing to squeeze us into their schedule. They now have a customer for life.

Since I had some heat I wasn't the first to get service, but I understood my situation as not as urgent as others. I got the pipes unfrozen and then they later came back for the installation.

They were very knowledge and prompt.

They had the lowest quote out of all of the people we spoke with. They did the work in a timely manner and we were impressed with how fast they were finished. They made sure to answer all of our questions. I was very pleased with their service.
