Servpro was great. The water damage occurred over the weekend and we called Servpro on Monday. They were there later in the week to remove all of the water damaged materials and to set up the equipment to dry out the kitchen. All of the staff were professional and worked well with our insurance (State Farm). They were late for the appointment on the final day due to an emergency at another location but we were able to reschedule to later that day. There were a few charges on the final invoice for projected work that they didn't end up doing. When I called the office manager she was very polite, apologetic, and worked with me and the technician who did the work to get the story and invoice straight. Hopefully, I never have water damage again, but if I do I will definitely be calling Servpro for the cleanup.
Very professional and did a wonderful job. Thorough in their estimate as to what they would do. Other estimates were not clear and left you with questions. Some of the estimates said the price would increase should they find something else.
Their huge fan left an oily-tar spot on the carpeting. No question as to whether or not it would be cleaned and not an easy stain to clean. Their two young men did an excellent job and not a sign of that stain is evident.
All of their workmen were extremely pleasant.
Overall, the basement looks better than it did before the flood. But getting their was a struggle ...
* an error in ordering the baseboard trim delayed the project completion such that it took four months to complete the work!
* time delays were exacerbated by a rash of storm damage in the Twin Cities at the end of June, moving our work down on Servpro's priority list.
* The quality of repairs was excellent with the exception of the painting, which had to be reworked several times.
It was a BIG convenience to deal with only one company for both the drying and repair jobs.
On a personal note, Mark and Pete were a joy to work with on the repairs. And Omar and the two Jose's were also very fun and efficient as they worked to dry-out the basement. Terry, who manages the work, was professional and polite -- but I suspect he was also under extreme pressure from his ownership to take on a lot of work and had to repeatedly apologize to us for the long delays.
A caution to anyone hiring a firm like Servpro to mitigate water damage: They are paid a fixed cost, and therefore work incredibly fast to dry-out your home. Be sure to carefully supervise the moving of furniture, cabinets, etc. both from the standpoint of minimizing damage and insuring you are happy with where things are "placed" in the interim because you may be living for months with things out-of-place.
One final note. I passed on rating the cost because Servpro and my Insurer were using the same software program to estimate the charges and I was only on the hook for the insurance deductible, regardless of the total cost.
basement. I was already well into drying out my basement but was unsure
of the extent of damage. Terry advised me of what i need to do further
and what services they offered. In the end i did not need there
services at this time and they did not charge me a dime. Top quality,
fair and honest service. I would recommend Servpro to anyone and
definitely use them again in the future.
The flood affected two entries, hallways, laundry area, kitchen, dining and living rooms. My neighbor's kitchen, dining and living rooms were also impacted since we share a common town home wall.
Everyone was top-notch and came through 100%. From Melissa, who took the first call, to the owner's immediate response, the clean-up/drying crew, sheet-rock/painter, and flooring installer. I could not have asked for better service. In fact, I didn't have to ask. Even after their thorough job, they still asked if there was anything else they could do for me and if I had further questions or needs, to not hesitate to ask. The SERVPRO team turned a very stressful situation into a positive experience.
SERPRO did follow-up monitoring and inspections.
SERVPRO worked with my insurance company to expedite the process.
