Description of Work: I had a hip replacement at Mayo Clinic. The doctor that I used surgically did a good job, but did not believe in physical therapy, inappropriate boundaries and at my last appointment kept me waiting over 2 hours. This was a very bad experience and there are better facilities around the country that I would chose over Mayo Clinic. They survive on their past reputation, but today it is more of place of assembly line health care and from my experience a lack of care or concern for the patient's well-being. If you do go to Mayo, and you go to the Office of Patient Affairs, their job is to protect the doctor and Mayo. I could not say any louder or with more concern, that you should never go to an appointment by yourself at Mayo Clinic. I have been going to Mayo for almost ten years, and I have always gone by myself, but after the inappropriate behavior by my Orthopedic Surgeon, I would say to be on the safe side and always bring another adult with you. There were other staff in the room while my doctor was not behaving like a professional and ethical person and they did not confront or try to stop him. The Office of Patient Affairs says that everyone in the room that day says nothing happened out of the oridinary. Mayo Clinic is no longer a safe place for me to get my health care needs.
