Deceptive, inaccessible & Scam company. Timeline of services: Never hire this company as it is deceptive trade practices with customers and operates in a highly shaddy and directly inaccessible manner. The following text will show you that very clearly: January 17, 2024. - The heat in the house suddenly stopped working, in the afternoon at 1392 Sandhurst Dr W, Roseville, MN 55113. - I called the company for one hour service, and tech Jeff Hrdilchka arrived and looked at the heating system. After diagnostics, he told us that he found the high limit switch tripped and heat stopped working. He said he bypassed the switch and put on the heat temporarily. He further said that he will order the switch and most likely it will be installed tomorrow, January 18. We paid the full fee, for the part work done. - We fell for the company gimmick and enrolled in the club membership for best and efficient services, and paid money by credit card. Interestingly, the club form has no fee mentioned and has no email contact info. January 22, 2024. - No show and no updates on the switch until this day. So I called the company and the person looked in the system, and found that no switch had been ordered and there were no updates. She told me that she will have the manager call me. - Nothing happened. January 23, 2024. - Received a call with no updates, or reasons for delay, or even a courtesy apology. - Instead, now the company wanted to send another tech to diagnose the heating system and charge an additional $69.00. I scheduled it for January 25. - I received 2 calls just to confirm the appointment and nothing else. January 25, 2024. - the tech Erin arrived and told us that she will look again at the heating problem because the earlier tech Jeff was "new" and is "on leave." She said she wanted to find the "root of the problem," but never mentioned about the switch or about a 5 days delay. - Expectedly, after the diagnosis, she found "a lot of problems." Obviously, the furnace is quite old and she handed us the estimates for about $ 3600.00. Trying to be "so nice", she said she can get me a new furnace for about the same amount and can have the sales person come here "quickly," in a couple hours. - While leaving she said "oh by the way, due to a danger and her licensing requirement," she has to shut the heat indicating that we can turn it on after she leaves. She also "waived" the diagnostic fee. - Shortly after, Ben Jass arrived and after looking around, gave us the three estimates for the new furnace: $ 5096, $ 6125 and $ 7647. He was eager to know how soon we can have it installed and we said we will consider it in a day or so. He also declined to turn the heat on, upon being requested. - We turned the heat on but it did not work and the temperature kept going down and home started to get really chilly. - We were scrambling to call Erin, but conveniently, her phone was nowhere on any of the paperwork prepared by her. - We called Ben, the sales person, and he expressed his inability to do anything and talked to Erin who said the same thing. - We found out later on that the heat won't turn because "someone [Erin] left a wire unconnected" and after connecting the wire the heat was turned on. - I told Ben that how can we trust the company for thousands of dollars in this scenario, and hence won't be reviewing his sale offers. He quipped "that is ok." In these circumstances, I request the company to refund all the amount it has received from us promptly, because of deficient services and deceptive practices. Otherwise, we will be forced to report all this to appropriate legal institutions, BBB, and social media. And I will wait for no delay in acknowledgement from the person in the company in charge of dealing with such deficient services and deceptive practices. gurdhyan singh [Subsequent to that, they still shamelessly keep calling and texting to make appointments, and have not responded directly at all to my messages for full refund or refunded my money.] gurdhyan singh

Quality Called this morning from work . Furnace was out. They had a tech out within an hour. That's the good. Here's the bad: in my home 30-40 minutes says the damage extensive. crack? Needs expensive 2000.+ Repair or replace after supposed diagnostics? I get on YouTube and a video a guy posts shows me how to read the error code. I get home and get the code and YouTube search that problem they send me outside to check the intake PVC pipe coming into my home. It is blocked with snow. He (their technician)never checked it no footprints in the snow but mine. Cleared the block she's running great. Paid them 159.00 for that????? YouTube guy saved me thousands of $$$$ beware of this company.... I reached out to an old friend who does this and he said if their tech found a crack that he would have taken a carbon monoxide reading and put that info on the red tag he left on the unit. No such test performed. No reading left. Just a nice quote for over 2000.00 for future repairs that wanted to schedule asap.. you know for my benefit??? Service:

It went great! This is an excellent, honest, quality company. I have 4 wall A/Cs that go to 3 outdoor units. (I have an old house with radiators.) Jason performed an extensive, thorough check of each A/C, both inside and outside.  One A/C needed a little coolant and Jayson topped it off for free. The whole experience was so totally different from the company I had 2 years ago whose technician spent very little time and tried to charge me $190 per pound of coolant. Jayson had a long checklist for each A/C. He spent a total of 3 hours at my house. He seemed very experienced and competent.

Great, considering the situation.  House was cool when arriving home from work, we tried several things to start the furnace which was not igniting.  They had a guy to the house in a couple hours, unfortunately he found a cracked heat exchanger which is potentially dangerous and can't be repaired except by replacement. The cost of repairing the old furnace was not worth the value so the next day a company rep came over to describe the options.  There was no pressure to sell higher priced furnaces, he simply figured out what size we needed and showed different models to let us select what worked best for us. He also instantly found financing for us online making the process very efficient.  The next day 2 guys installed the new furnace and AC condenser (we knew in advance that it needed replacing, got a great discount for doing both at once).  They carefully laid down tarps where they were walking and bringing in equipment, nothing got dirty from their work.  When reinstalling the humidifier on the furnace discovered they replaced the plastic water feed and drain hoses with permanent copper and PVC tubing, also replaced some older worn parts, an unexpected and excellent upgrade.  They didn't have one of the proper fittings, so the next day another technician came out to put the correct part in and while he was here the quality control manager stopped to look at the completed work.  We were completely satisfied with the work, however he saw things he didn't like so had the tech take another 4 hours to make adjustments, mostly aesthetic like straightening out vent pipes, etc.  Being in the basement we weren't concerned about the appearance but they wanted it to look its best.  Our interaction with all of the employees has been very positive.  Having to replace a furnace in the middle of winter could be very stressful, they made it as smooth as it possibly could be.

I was going to shop around to see what kind of priced I could get, but I was a "return customer." They had installed the previous system 18 years ago. New system is super efficient and they gave us numerous price breaks and extras. Excellent all around!

I've had my mini-split units for almost 6 years and I can't be more pleased with the service.  I have an old house and wanted to keep my radiators and not run duct work.  I purchased the units through Cronstrom's (which mergerd with this company) and love the units and the service I receive.

I saw the product, Aeroseal, demonstrated on the TV show, This Old House.  It purportedly improved the temperature differential between upstairs and downstairs rooms and reduced dust by plugging holes in the supply and return air ducts.  As soon as I saw the product demonstrated on This Old House, I knew I wanted to try it in my house.
My house was built in 1925 and is a 1-1/2 story residence.  I've always had problems cooling the upstairs, even with central air conditioning. In the summer, it is unbearably hot upstairs, even with the a/c cranked up.  In the winter, it is coolish upstairs, but certainly livable (heat rises).  My house has old style vents on the first floor - large square supply vents (5) and two in-floor rectangular return vents.  Upstairs, there are only two supply vents and the return air vent is really the stairway down to the first floor.
The Aeroseal product addresses the excessive duct leakage that exists in any home.  Even if you manually seal by tape the ductwork in your house, there is still quite a bit of leakage.  I did a lot of research before getting this product installed, and case studies show that this product consistently reduces leakage by more than 90%.  Our heating and cooling appliances are now pretty energy efficient, but the duct work in a building is still a source of a lot of heat/cooling loss.
According to the manufacturer, here's some of the technology:
1. Research for Aeroseal was partially funded the US Dept of Energy
2. Aeroseal is the only duct sealant technology that is applied from the inside of the duct system.  It is delivered as a non-toxic aerosol mist that seeks out and plugs leaks.
3. Aeroseal has proven to be 95% effective at sealing air duct leaks.
4. The Dept of Energy proclaimed aeroseal technology to be one of the top 23 most important energy conservation technologys for consumer sto come out since the dept was first established.
5. The product was developed at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1994.
6. Aeroseal has won several prestigious awards, including DOE energy 100 Award, Popular Science -Best of What's New, This Old House - new technologies and 2012 EBie award for use on an existing building retrofit project.
I recommend going to the manufacturer website to get more information and view a video of how the installation works.  Also, check out the This Old House segment online when they featured this product.
When I looked for an Aeroseal service provider in the Twin Cities, Northern One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning was the only provider.  In fact, I contacted them only about a month after they started providing this product.  They had a service technician trained by the manufacturer to install the product, and they had done several new house installations.  Mine would be the first "old house" in which they would install the product.  (Therefore I did get a very nice price discount.)
The company sent two technicians to install the product.  They arrived on time.  The set-up definitely takes the most time- it took a couple hours for my house.  They have to seal all the vents tightly and tape up larger gaps in the duct work before starting the actual sealing process.   They do a computer analysis before and after the sealing process so that actual results can be measured.  (One of the technicians still said that my old house duct work was tighter than new house construction to begin with.)
While installing, there was a fine mist that developed in the air.  The company has a fan/vacuum that collects a lot of it.  Also, they opened a lot of windows to help dissipate the mist.  They provided masks for us to wear - I actually didn't wear it though.  Breathing the substance created a little stickiness in my nose, but eventually it went away.  The mist dissipates quickly.  It is supposed to be non-toxic.
The sealing itself took about 15 minutes for the supply side, and 25 minutes for the return side.  The supply/return sealing can be performed dually, but this company does each side separately.  My results are as follows:
Supply ducts - original leakage was equivalent to a 25 square inch hole.  After finishing the Aeroseal, leakage was equivalent to a 1 square inch hole, corresponding to a 95% reduction in duct leakage.
Return ducts - original leakage was equivalent to a 43 square inch hole.  After finishing the Aeroseal, leakage was equivalent to a 5 square inch hole, corresponding to a 89% reduction in duct leakage.
Clean-up was quick.  They left my house in tip-top shape.  I also received a printed Certificate of Completion that outlines the overall sealing results for both the supply and return sides.
I am really pleased with the results, and I can say that the product really works.  For the first time, I can cool my upstairs without the use of a window air conditioner upstairs.  I can cool it to be about 2 degrees difference from the first floor.  I set the thermostat to 74 degrees and close all the supply vents on the first floor except one.  Upstairs, the temperature is about 76 degrees.  I am anxious to see what happens in the winter, although summer cooling was the more problematic issue for me.
I can also report a HUGE reduction of the dust in my house.  Before, I used to see the dust pile up just a few days after dusting.  Now, it is over 2 weeks since my last dusting and I still don't see the dust pile up on the furniture or window sills.
I highly recommend this product to any homeowner.  It saves energy, is good for the environment, and most importantly - improves indoor comfort and reduces dust in your own home.
I commend Northern One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning for being the first service provider in the Twin Cities for this product.  I hope they get a lot of business installing this product.  They did a great job and I couldn't be happier.

We have a 2-year old air conditioner and the capacitor went bad. I had diagnosed this myself with a bit of help from the internet, but the part is hard/impossible to find on a weekend so I had to call a professional. One Hour Heating and Air was able to send a tech out within a few hours - and on a Saturday, and they had no reviews yet on Angie's List, so it seemed worthwhile to roll the dice.
After arriving, their technician quickly confirmed my suspicion of a bad capacitor, then confirmed that was the issue on the outside unit, and quoted me an additional $301 to replace it - above and beyond the $159 trip charge to come out. We had guests for the weekend, mid-80s / high humidity, and an overheating dog so we were in a pinch (and I was already committed to the $159 trip charge), so I agreed - even though I know the cost of the part is no more than $30.
The tech confirmed this when I asked him how they can charge $301 for a $30 part. He indicated that they can charge that because I cannot get that part myself - in essence admitting that I am getting ripped off. I am willing to pay an excess fee for Saturday service, but he was in and out in 30 minutes and only replaced a $30 part. A total charge of $200 or even $250 would have been fair given the circumstances. $460 is simply bad business.
Compounding their poor business practices is a "membership" that they promote which equates to an even greater rip-off. I thought twice about posting this review as I don't imagine this company will be able to stay in business when they operate like this.
While I have no issues with the tech, avoid this company if you have ANY other option as you will pay twice as much as with anyone else. I REALLY wish I could have waited for my normal servicer (Residential Heating - who has been great in the past), but they weren't available until Monday.

Great is the best response.  I loved the girls that help me set up appoint and they made it work for our schedule.  The tech was friendly and knowledgeable.  Explained everything to me in layman's terms and helped me understand my system and what I had to do to maintain.  They had to come back to replace thermostats at no extra charge.

Had this company out to certify my furnace due to selling my home. The tech opened the furnace maybe an inch to fit a camera in and told me that he thought he Sean a crack and had to shut my furnace down because it was unsafe and then tried to sell me a new one. I have a service plan with excel so I called them and their tech took the panel all the way off the furnace to reveal the heat exchanger and examined it and found no cracks and test for co2 were also normal I then called a third company for a third opinion just to be safe and after a very thorough inspection and many different test he also said that there was no cracks or co2. I spoke with the manager at one hour heating and he laughed at me and argued with me. This company is a scam! I found another report with the BBB involving this exact company and location telling a customer their heat exchange was cracked and shut their furnace down and a second opinion from another company proved them wrong. This company pays their techs on commission so they are quick to find a reason to sell you a fernace

Northern One Hour did a great job. Each person we worked with from the repair person that diagnosed our issue to the consultant that gave us a bid to the installation crew did a very good job. All were very professional, knowledgable and provided us with much more information that I would have expected. We asked a lot of questions they were all very patient with us and didn't make us feel rushed in any way. We are very happy with the service we received.
