Scott subsequently found out that it wasn't the GFI or electrical system of the house. He advised me to have my refrigerator looked at. He didn't charge for the service call -- very generous of him. I should have filled out a review prior to today. Scott has performed at least two electrical jobs for me over the past six years -- he's so professional and competent, and FAST. Everything he's repaired or installed for me continues to work. And he has good advice on how to be proactive and safe.
Description of Work: Scott came over to troubleshoot and repair my GFI in the kitchen; it kept tripping with the fridge plugged into it.

Description of Work: Scott came when promised, and was able to wire the entire kitchen after we removed a wall full of electric switches and outlets, and moved the switches and outlets to remaining walls. He also added more lights to hang over the new island. I don't know how he did this without removing Drywall, but everything is perfect. He used excellent judgement in placing the new lights and switches. We were on a strict timeline and came late in the afternoon to help us stay on schedule.

He came in with a reasonable bid. When he arrived, he seemed courteous. After the first day work, I went to look at what he had done. He did very shoddy work. He put too many wires into several boxes, conductors in boxes were too short, several switches were not grounded, he damaged preexisting wires, nailed through several wires, and several other code violations that may or many not have been a safety concern (I spoke with a state electrical inspector to confirm many of the issues). When I contacted Mr Slimmer regarding these issues, he was very rude. I asked him to fix some of the violations, and he did not refuse while on the phone, but continued to be very rude, telling me I knew nothing about electrical wiring and that he would "look" at it. After a while, I told him not to return and that I would fix the problems myself. I basically had to rewire about 75% of the job myself, along with fixing the preexisting wires that he damaged. When the bill arrived, he charged me full price. Because of the work I had to do, I sent a check for a little half the cost, explaining in detail the code violations. Two days later I was sent letter telling me that I lien was placed on the house until he received full payment. Eventually, to avoid the hassle of going to court, I agreed to pay 75% of the bill.
Description of Work: I hired Mr Slimmer several years ago to wire my basement when I finished my basement.

I found this company in a file from the former homeowners of my house. He quoted me over the phone and came over the next week to do the work. It took just over two hours to install the lights. I called him again a few months later to install my fan; he had to go into the attic and create the box and connection for the fan -- it also took just over two hours to do it. He was on time and I knew exactly how much each job was going to cost.
Description of Work: First visit, installed three teardrop lights above my kitchen island (and created the connections for them). Second visit, installed an electric fan in my living room (and created the connections for it).
