I checked around and the price Bob Guzzo from MEI Minnesota Exteriors Inc. gave me was very fair. Much less expensive then others and a much better window, top of the line. My picture window will even be oak and stained with the color I need included in the price. The extra trim for the garage, front door, base of door, and all basement windows are included in the price unlike another conpany I checked, I would have been charged a great deal extra to have that done by that other company. Bob was very patient and kind and was very knowledge about all the windows offered. He showed and offered different brand named windows they work with. I ended up getting not only the top of the line window but the safety glass where needed that had not even been mentioned by anyone else. I not only was able to buy the best windows but they will help me take down things and move things I am unable to do. Bob knew that I wanted a special color for the trim and called a company that will be doing the staining of my picture window. A & M painting whom they work with all the time to make sure I would get the color I wanted after MEI puts the closest color trim they have along with doing the trim around my garage, front door, piece under my front door, and all the trim around all the basement windows at no extra cost as mentioned. Then Mike from A&M Painting who MEI will be using for the staining of my bay window will come out and match the color I want for all the trim mentioned for $1,350.00 and will also do a fairly large area above my door and house at no extra charge so everything matches. I am getting much more done, a better window, the color trim I want all around and then some, for much less, saving me a lot of money compaired to others in the spring of 2015. Thank you , Bob ps. Initially, there was a problem with scheduling. I was told approximately 3 weeks out. I understand summer is their busiest time of the year; however, it was 4 weeks until the project got started. Never was told up front if it was the county holding up the permit paperwork, but, I should have been informed promptly! I called several times to customer service and do dislike when my message(s) went unanswered. Certainly, a lack of communication. In my opinion, the customer service should inform the customers the status of the scheduling via email or telephonically, i.e. if there was a holdup with the paperwork, or shipment of the materials, etc. I do understand these things occur, but keep the customer in the loop! However, once the scheduling was set, the crew showed up on time and worked swiftly. I was told it was going to be done in one day; however, there was delay in getting the materials, thus, it was done in 1 1/2 days. No problem. They did their best in picking up the debris, especially the nails. There was a follow up visit a week later to see if there were any issues or concerns. I thought that was good. They do guarantee their work, which I was sold on. Not too many companies do this. With escalating home improvement costs, this is comforting to have as an "insurance" should a problem arise in the future.

M.E.I. did an excellent job on our siding and gutter project. from Bob in sales, to Cindy in customer service, and the entire crew working on our house, they were all very professional, prompt, and friendly. MEI was very professional, working with us at every stage of the insurance claims process, as well as providing us with a great value on additional work we bid out to them on the porch. The sales team was not pushy and the contract process was very personal and made me feel like we were doing business with the individuals at MEI vs. a large corporation. When it came time for the talk to become walk in the form of the work, we were also pleased with the results. The team worked with little breaks and got right to doing their jobs which was from sun up to sun down. After each night they carefully wrapped our home to protect the outside which was very beneficial because we had record rain fall during our project. The final results are a high quality roof and siding that covers our home and the new three season porch we added during this project. I recommend MEI to anyone that is looking for a great value that is not compromised in any way from start to finish.

I cannot recommend MEI enough. This is the second time that we have used them. They are highly responsive, they did an expert job working through some complicated problems associated with our job, explaining every detail and the work quality is fantastic! The person that did the work on our soffit/fascia work is a true craftsman! This is a company that stands by their word and their installation.

Following a bad hail storm, I needed a contractor so I called Minnesota Exteriors after a thorough internet search. A representative came right out and gave me an estimate. They carry quality products from a variety of different manufacturers, and from the time I hired them, they did the majority of the negotiations with my insurance company. My project was large, so it took several months to come to a mutual agreement with the insurance company and the work was started. At all stages of the work, I was kept updated by my representative or someone from the company. The workers showed up on time (in fact, most of the time they were early!) and came when they said they would. The work crew put in long hours each day to finish the total job in a timely manner. The job is complete and I'm very pleased that I hired Minnesota Exteriors. I give them the highest recommendation!

Took a little longer than expected, but only due to weather. The quality of work was excellent! Overall, Minnesota Exteriors was cost effective, timely and the craftsmanship was excellent. I would definitely recommend them to others if you are considering siding or other work. The salesman, Bob, was a pleasure to work with and very knowledgeable about the product.

Unfortunately I am not 100% satisfied with the service. Now, over time, I have discovered a number of quality issues directly related to the siding add to our brick wall. The siding is where I feel like they failed me the most, I'm really not happy. In hindsight I would have chosen a different service provider. They worked through a very tough winter, I am unsure if this has something to do with the poor quality, I am hoping that this is something that is covered under the lifetime workmanship guaranty I worked with Dan Geis, he was my representative.

They arrived Monday Late afternoon and quickly began the work. Finished the job Tuesday late afternoon and also let us know along the way about the issues on our roof. Took pictures of the damage that was under the shingles and keep us in the loop during the day and a half of work. Our main contact guy was JUAN and he was very helpful throughout the whole process. We hope to use them again for siding work soon on our garage.

MEI sales staff provided excellent detailed quote and communication from the beginning. The project manager and the customer service staff were very pleasant and easy to work with. The crew was punctual and were very neat and cleaned up each day so that was a relief. We did not have to do anything, there were no worries. The work was very professional and we received many compliments from our neighbors. Their store was very resourceful when picking out the siding color and shakes. When we received the final bill the best thing was there were no hidden charges! I would recommend them and already have. Thanks to the MEI staff for a job well done!

Some problems getting it all scheduled after the initial downpayment. Roof went fairly quickly. Siding took 4x longer than estimated: Crew was double booked one week, and two-person crew turned into one guy never showing up after tear off. Still waiting for some details to get fixed/finished.

Start date for the project was promised to be 3 weeks after contract signed - project not started for 9 weeks. Total project completion time was suggested by several Minnesota Exterior personnel to range from 2 days to one week - total project time was actually 8 weeks. Aluminum trim in several areas not installed properly and had to be refitted after project completion. Calking around windows, doors, around chimney and other areas incomplete or poorly applied - I re-calked the obvious gaps but after one year I'm still finding areas the need re-calking. Installation of wood siding was not done with the manufacturer?s required gap allowance at joints resulting in buckling during warmer weather. This issue was addressed by Minnesota Exteriors by nailing down the bulges. The sales representative suggested that a computer tablet would be given as a promotional item but was never delivered even after several reminders. There was no oversight or sight visit of the siding project by the so called project manager and no final inspection after the project was complete.

Horrible experience. Didn't return calls, or show up when they said they would and then showed up when we told them not to. We cancelled the agreement and went with someone else.

Well done, I'm happy. The windows went in over two days with little disruption. The siding took longer since they were working in deep snow and cold (early March) but they kept at it and got it all done and after the snow was gone came back and went over the ground carefully to pick up everything.

We were not happy with them. They ended up giving us a discount because of the issues. The product was fine but the people they had hired to put the product on was unbelievably mean and rude. It was a horrible experience, like I almost was afraid to leave my house. I would never use them again, unless they could assure me that that particular man was gone. He would say things like when workers don't like the homeowners, sometimes they do bad things to the house when the homeowners are gone. We were totally shocked. And, we asked them to use some tarps to cover our landscaping because that when they took our soffits out, the insulation was going to fall. They didn't want to do that because they thought it was going to be difficult to see where they were stepping. Needless to say, my husband ended up cleaning up loads and loads of insulation particles. The owner who worked with us and gave us a discount was nice. The end product looked totally fine, it looked great. It was just that one individual who ruined it for the whole team, so that's unfortunate. The company tried to make it right but I personally would be afraid to hire them again.

In December of 2013, I had Minnesota Exteriors replace all nine of my home's windows with vinyl Lindsay windows. I had first contacted MN Exteriors in January of 2013 to get a quote. It wasn't until November of 2013 that I actually decided to follow through and again contacted MN Exteriors. By this time, however, the salesman that I had dealt with in January had taken some type of personal leave, so I was put into contact with a different salesman. I thought that this was going to cause some troubles or delays, but the new salesman was very responsive. He suggested that he come out, and he basically redid my quote since I had some additional questions. He thought it best just to start over and be involved from the beginning so that we could work through it together, giving me the best chance of having the best windows for me. Both of my salesman were very friendly and helpful in deciding the best windows for me. I'm a young, single, new home owner with no window experience; their suggestions were helpful and appreciated. After I put in my order and waited the few weeks to manufacture my custom windows, the installers came. It just so happened that the day of installation was during one of the extremely cold streaks with really bad roads. The installers braved the treacherous roads to come the day of my install. They were a little late, but, really, who can blame them? They put blankets down in the entrance way where they stored most of their gear and took shoes off when inside. It was a two man team with one outside and one inside. They moved quickly and were focused despite the terribly cold weather. They stayed a full day and managed to install all the windows. They cleaned up after themselves both inside and out, vacuuming wood shavings due to cutting out the old windows and picked up and hauled away all pieces of the old windows. All-in-all, my Minnesota Exteriors' window replacement was a positive experience and have no set backs to speak of. I tested for any airflow around the newly installed windows during the extremely cold days when it was around -20 degrees F and windy and couldn't feel a thing. I'd say they did a quality install. The new windows are so much better than my breezy, rotted, 27 year old wood windows. Not to mention, I was happy with costs, considering they handled everything from beginning to end, including scheduling and paying for the inspector. Everything was very convenient, done on time, and done well. If you're looking to replace windows, I recommend MN Exteriors.

Minnesota Exteriors, Inc. provided my family with an excellent experience from beginning to end. We had particularly great experiences with Kelly O'Brien, their knowledgable sales professional and Lorna Carlson, their customer service representative. My wife and I made numerous changes (we were rookies) to the color of the materials and the scope of the project. We were never met with any resistance and were only treated professionally and MEI was very responsive to our questions. We had a tight budget and MEI was willing to honor our limits. They never tried to pressure us into spending more than we could afford. Once we met Mr. O'Brien, it was immediately clear that he is a wealth of knowledge about the products and industry. He was willing to give us the time we needed to completely understand the process, time frame and cost. When the job was being performed, the workers were respectful of our property and offered to lend an extra hand with some of the prep work that was needed to get ready. After the roof was put on, we realized that we should have taken an old basketball hoop down first. When we finally did, it left a gap in the trim where the hoop was covering. Without hesitations, MEI sent out a crew a few months later to touch it up. Now, It looks great. In short, our experience with Minnesota Exteriors, Inc. exceeded expectations for quality and timeliness. I will use this company again and have recommended their services to my friends. They have reasonable price and they did a good job.

Poor clean up. I picked up two dozen nails in my driveway. When i complained, a rep gave me a magnet and told me it would do a great job. They were suppsed to clean up the nails. In addition to the over 100 nails i found in my yard with their magnet, there were many scraps of shingles. I found pieces of aluminum, 1 inch by 6-8 inches, around the yard . These were easy to spot. I also found a number of smaller pieces of aluminum. They were supposed to replace all of the gutter around the house. They removed all of it, but left about 15 feet of roof with no gutter. They said it wasn't needed in that part of the roof. But i was charged for the work not done. After complaining, someone came out and finished the job. In all i ended up taking three days off from work, where it should have been two. Additionally I had to meet three people at my house to complain about the poor clean up and issues with the roof and gutter. A corner of the roof had split shingles. These had to be replaced, but only after i inspected the work and complained. Some of the gutter screen was not properly attached. The screws holding the screen onto the gutter were barely screwed in. These problems were resolved but only because i inspected and complained. I also had the facia board around the house replaced by them. Again nails in the driveway. and more scraps of aluminum in the yard.

After interviewing several siding companies, we felt comfortable with MEI's reputation, experience and referrals. As a contractor myself, I am very picky about hiring work out on our house and am glad to say I am extremely happy with deciding to go with MEI.From start to finish everything went smoothly, communication with the scheduler & project manager was flawless and they performed everything in the contract to spec. Also, I was very impressed with the installers who worked on the job - they were friendly, experienced and above all very professional. The cleanup was impeccable as well. Time was of the essence in our case since my wife was expecting on Nov. 20 and we wrote in contract job had to be completed 100% by Nov. 19th which they did. Lo and behold we had a beautiful baby girl on the 20th and come home from the hospital to a pro siding job that we are very happy with. It went great. This is the second time I worked with MEI. The first time I had 6 windows installed and this time I replaced my large living room window. Brian (the sales rep) came out wrote up a quote for me. He took a look at the windows I had had previously installed to see how they job went. He took the time to ask me how they were working out and if I had any questions or problems with them. All the windows came out great on both jobs. I had a different work crews for each project and they were both wonderful. Very considerate, knowledgeable, professional. They took the time to talk to me about my windows and various things; for example the one worker noticed I had black ants behind my wood on the front window, he asked if I had any ant killer as he would spray it before he caulked it all up. I didnt so he asked if I wanted him to leave the hole open so I could get some ant killer and then he proceeded to tell me what to do and left the half empty tube of caulk for me to fill it in. Great company to do business with. They dealt with the city, the permits, the inspection information. It all went very smoothly. Every employee I dealt with was helpful and knew there job.

When the old roofing was removed, they discovered that the spacing of the boards did not meet code, something Dan had told us might be the case. The entire roof had to be covered with CDX plywood to meet the building code. Even with that, the crew got the new roof installed in two days. The crew was very punctual and efficient. They kept the area picked up and answered all of our questions. We would go to MEI for any future repairs first. Everyone we dealt with was very professional and the job was done at the time stated. We are very happy with the results.

Our sales person (Bob G.) was excellent to work with. He was very personable and knew in great detail about all the products MEI offered. Bob made several suggestions on our siding and knowing that we did not want our house to look like all others, he recommended doing vinyl siding on three sides and LP Smartside siding on the front. The results based on those recommendations were fantastic! Bob was great to work with and we really appreciated his input. The crew working on the project did an awesome job! They worked on the house diligently and tirelessly, it's refreshing to see work ethic of that caliber and we were amazed at how quickly the "tear-off" went and new siding was ready to be placed on. The crew leader (Diane) always informed us of what was being done, answered any questions we had during the install and took time to explain to us in detail if there were any modifications or changes to be done during the process. They were a delight to work with. After the job was completed, the house looked terrific! We simply could not believe the transformation in the appearance of the house with the new exterior!

We chose MN Exteriors after checking out their reputation on Angie's LIst, the Better Business Bureau and talking with a few neighbors down the road who were also having their properties worked on. We also chose them not because they were the lowest estimate given (James Hardie siding is not cheap)---they were in the high middle. We were also appreciative of the greater amount of information the salesman gave us about the products/colors used as compared to the 3 other representatives we met. The siding/window crew was very professional and cleaned up thoroughly after each days' work even in the extreme heat. They also took care not to damage my landscaping nor damage my new gutters . They always communicated with us about their arrival times and if they needed someone home to open doors or windows. The carpenters who installed the door frame and doors did their work quickly and efficiently as well. Overall, the siding project was finished within the time frame given. The only glitch was a two week(+) delay in the front door frame installation because the special door ordered from THERMA TRU Doors came in defective two times! This was not the fault of MN Exteriors but they were a bit slow in calling to let me know about the delay. We would use this company again. Our home looks great!

Sales person was knowledgeable and low key. No high-pressure sales pitch. I didn't have much choice in what windows to purchase as I needed to buy the windows specified by my association. I chose Minnesota Exteriors Inc. (MEI) for the job because it was the company that did the siding for buildings in my association and the company has done many window replacement jobs here. I got phone updates for every step of the project, e.g., when the windows arrived at MEI, who would call to schedule the install, etc. The crew arrived right on time and went about their business in a very professional manner. Clean-up was excellent. There was a single glitch, which was a manufacturing error not an MEI problem. The "angel locks" on an upper sash of one window did not align properly. A replacement sash was order right away. I received a follow-up call to let me know when the replacement would be in and could be swapped out by a service technician. The service technician arrived as soon as the replacement sash arrived at MEI. Good follow-up service I gave a B on pricing because windows are expensive so there is often an "ouch".
