Over the summer I lost a large shade tree in my back yard. I did a bit of research on replacement trees, and decided on a disease resistant elm. I called around to several nurseries to see what was available. Of those nurseries that had elms in stock, I found myself talking to individuals who did not know much more than the price on the price list. Then I called Knecht's. I reached Leif Knecht, and he immediately impressed me with his knowledge of shade trees. While I initially intended to purchase a very large tree that would need to be moved by truck, after talking to Leif I ended up purchasing a considerably less expensive tree in a pot that I was able to transport and plant myself. Leif grows these trees in and quot;air pruneand quot; pots, which promotes root growth and leads to faster growth when the tree is planted. I've planted a number of trees over the years, and have had various problems, and Leif is the first person at a nursery who has been able to speak knowledgeably about these problems and offer a solution.

You cannot go wrong by shopping at Knecht's, or by having them deliver trees and plants to your home. Though we have not used their tree planting services, or their landscape design services, I suspect those are first-rate as well. The staff is a God-send when it comes to answering difficult questions about plants, pests, etc. You won't be disappointed if you visit Knecht's! Leif runs a top-notch business!
