These guys are wonderful--great work, friendly service, prompt assistance. In addition to that problem, I recently had another problem with my two laptops. Both of them got placed on a soft surface where they did not have adequate ventilation and they both overheated and shut down. From then on, they were very prone to overheating and shutting down. When I called Technical Reinforcements and left a message they called me right back. They explained that there were certain things I could do on my own. If those measures didn't work I could call them back and they could come out to take a look. I followed their advice and fixed the problem myself for $8. (Turns out the ventilation area of both computers had a dust buildup and the $8 can of compressed air did the trick!)

I was very pleased with the service. The technician came to our home within a couple of days of the call for service. He was very thorough and was happy to answer any questions I had. I would highly recommend Technical Reinforcements. Their prices are extremely reasonable. The other quote for service I received required me to take the computer to their place of business and the initial diagnosis was over twice the price I paid to Technical Reinforcements.

They were superb. I would definitely call them again. They were only here 3 hours which I thought was very reasonable.

We first learned of James Allard and his company, Technical Reinforcents, through Angie's List in 2005. I decided to give him a try over other companies that were suggested to me by the Angie's rep,, because of his offer to either fix the problem or not charge for the service call. When he first came to look at our old computer, I was a bit taken back at seeing such a young guy. It did not take long to see that he really knows his way around computers. We have used only his company's services since then and have had a number of problems solved by them. They seem very committed to holding on to you as a customer and have shown us this in the following ways. The technician, Adrain, who has worked most often with us, works quickly and is willing to answer any and all questions, or to explain just what he is doing to solve whatever the problem is. I have never had the feeling that they are dragging out the service call to run up a larger bill. If I forgot to ask something, or something comes up after the call, they answer emails quickly and provide answers when possible. With your bill, there is a service evaluation form that you can send in describing your satisfaction, or lack of, for their review. I have emailed James asking for advice on purchasing this product or that and the answer comes back pretty quickly and if needed goes into some detail. Computers, like cars, homes, and like things, sooner or later need servicing. I plan to use Technical Reinforcements as long as I am using the computer, and their service continues at the high level that I have experienced over the past 5 years.

Everything went very well. He explained everything so well. He gets right to the point.

My computer screen went blue & Windows could not open. Called TRI on Sunday (March 14) just to leave a message to have someone call me back on Monday. They did call me back on Monday & set an appt up right away to check things out with my computer to see if it was even repairable. Adrian came out to my home Weds (March 16) & fixed my computer & my scanner on my printer. He was extremely informative with errors on my current computer as well as educating me on what to look for when purchasing a new computer.He worked very efficiently & was extremely professional when answering my questions. He was very helpful & kind! Love the fact that he also volunteered to field any questions I may have on purchasing my new computer if I needed a purely objective opinion. Adrian said TRI also would come over to transfer the info on my current computer to my new one if I would like. And....they haven't even sent me the bill yet! He said once they know that what they did to repair my computer has worked, they will then send me the bill....otherwise they would come back until an agreeable solution was reached. How about that for customer service! DEFINITELY a P.O.H. nomination from this customer!!

James was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable. He explained what I needed to know plainly without a lot of "jargon". We haven't gotten the final bill yet, but it should be around $200 (?), the recovery of our data is priceless! I am very pleased TRI & would absolutely call them again for any computer issues.

The representative showed up on time and fixed the problem quickly. He also told me the place to go to buy the new computer speakers. Since he was already in my house I told him to fix some additional things on the computer which he did. We received great, professional service and I would definitely use them again.

I called James at about 3pm today. I explained that my cd drive would;d not open. He asked the kind of computer I had and said he would call me back. He called me 20 minutes later informing me that he had the part on hand, and would be able to replace it today! Because it wasn't an emergency, was a quick fix, and was on his way to a client close to me, he waived the same day fee! He was so friendly, and professional, I am glad to have found this company!

The computer repair man came within a few days of my initial call. He checked my laptop (a macbook that dual boots into both windows and mac) and tried fixing it with the tools on hand. He explained what he was trying, and what it might fix. The problem required a reinstall of windows, which I no longer had a copy of. He found a copy (I wanted xp instead of windows 7) for me and brought it the next week and installed it. He arrived exactly on time for both apointments and was very up front about costs, time estimates, and what he was doing at each step in the process. He talked about other options I had for setting up my computer (instead of the dual boot system) without pushing anything. Lastly he made sure I understood the simple fix methods so I could handle some of the basic problems if I ran into them in the future. The whole process was finished two days before the earliest Geek Squad could fit me in.

They were very responsive, professional, knowledgeable and resolved all of the problems I had with the computers.

They were very good. They kept me informed. They were able to get me in within a day or two. Once they had it, they were good about keeping me informed and letting me know when I would have it back.

Grade A all the way around. James committed to appointment. Was punctual, courteous, knowledgeable. Ran multiple diagnostics, consulted with me frequently about what he was doing, what might be wrong, what was not broken, etc. Diagnostics needed hours to run, so James gave me directions on how to follow up. He was available to consult after-hours and on Saturday following. PC fixed. Runs and boots up quicker than ever. No memory or boards needed replacing. I would highly recommend Technical Reinforcements to anyone with a large paperweight that needs to be turned back into a PC.

Both times TRI was punctual or notified me of a delay in their arrival. They provided explanations of what they were doing. Both men were were very pleasant to work with. I will certainly recommend them to othersand call them again if I have any more computer repair needs.

Good. No serious problems were found and I have protection on my computer again. Much of the space on my computer was used up by my son who no longer lives with me so he cleaned that out. I don't have any frame of reference for the overall cost. An estimate was not given and he did not give me a bill the day of service as I expected so I had no idea what the charges were when he left. The only items itemized on the bill were $5.00 for gas and $50 for antivirus software. He told me that he would honor the 5% coupon from Angies List but does not note it on the bill. I would have to reduce payment by 5% and of course, I forgot to do so when I paid the bill.

Adrian was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything he was doing in detail and gave us some helpful suggestions.

The overall experience was very bad. We had to have the work almost completely redone by another professional, who did manage to fix the majority of our problems for much less money.

They are afforadable. The technician came out once to work on a problem he couldn't fix. They did not charge me for that.

By the second day after returning the computer it was evident that a new hard drive was needed and Adrian installed it. There were a few kinks to work out over a couple of days and Adrian was always available by phone or to stop by and fix the problem himself. I can't respond to the questions regarding costs as I've not yet received a bill for the service.

It was a very good experience. The technician was prompt and worked steadily. He asked good questions and he answered many questions I had. He also provided later phone consultation to help me resolve a problem. I would certainly use them again.

Adrian seemed very knowledgeable and did what needed to be done very quickly. He even suggested removing the hard drive on the old machine to keep as a backup and also to keep all that info out of the wrong hands after I recycle the machine.

It was all very successful. Adrian is extremely responsive over the phone and in person. Not only did he figure out the weird thing my desktop PC did and recover all of my files, he set my computer up for wireless, installed new anti-virus software and cleaned up my hard drive to have more accessible memory. A nice surprise was that he sold me a wireless modem and anti virus software at cost, saving me a shopping trip! While he was fixing my PC, I asked questions about how to set up my computer for wireless. Adrian offered to do it for me, since he was already there and it wouldn't take very long to get it configured. In the process of the wireless setup, my upstairs phone jack disintegrated. Adrian was VERY apologetic, and it was not due to any negligence on his part - the phone jack had issues waaaay before TR showed up. So now we REALLY needed wireless, since that was the only jack upstairs. I was just glad that it happened when he was there and could help troubleshoot the problem. That jack could have died at any moment, anyways and it saved me days without Internet, while I tried to figure things out. After the first visit, our computer ran like it was new. Even better was not having the 50' phone cord draped across the upstairs ceiling. The second visit was to install a new USB expansion port. Our existing USB ports died/broke and without a USB connection, no wireless. Adrian came out within 24 hours, installed the new hardware and had the computer back on line within an hour. My husband said that he hardly knew Adrian was there. Overall, TR has been a great company to work with. They are very aware that they are working by the hour and continually try to make every minute they are on-site worthwhile. They're happy to support me doing something myself if they think I can do it, and the estimates they give are very accurate.

I felt it went well. Adrian Preston came to my home, worked for hour and a half. Explained what he was doing as he went along and why he was doing it. I have very little understanding of computer operation but he didn't "talk down" to me and did explain in language I could follow. Did a spyware scan, installed a printer driver I'd been having trouble with, etc.

He did an excellent job of explaining our options. He said we could wait and do additional tests to make sure the router was the problem, but we decided to go ahead and everything is working well. He recommended and installed a free spyware program. He also did some "tuning" up and the PC is booting up and running faster.

I called and made an appointment with Adrian. He was right on time, spent about an hour here and explained exactly what he did. I have used them before, both he and James have been here and are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely use them again.
