It went well. Technician called before coming to house. He determined the capacitor on the air conditioner was bad, and replaced it. The job was completed within one half hour.

Perfectly! The installer was prompt and friendly. Rick Welter sold me the unit and he was very professional. His price was the best of several bids I received, I like buying from a family company.

Disappointed would be an understatement on this installation. My entire experience from start to finish has been underwhelming. I selected Ray N Welter partially due to the labor warranty and would have a tough time having the same people in my house again, regardless of warranty. The office staff were very attentive and courteous, which has been a great bright spot in my experience. However, the crew who showed up disappointed from start to finish, beginning with no introductions for the gentlemen coming into my home. Then the professionals in my home offered no shortage of swearing, comments about my home, and comments about the installation that made me uneasy about their work (not to me, but directed at each other). When they left, I found washers all over my basement. I hope they aren't necessary, nobody walked me through the work, so I never had an opportunity to ask while the gentlemen were present. My air conditioner pad is shimmed with duct tape and cardboard. Days later, when I had a follow up question, the service manager was helpful and referred me to their electrician. He was rude laughed at my questions. He informed me after my follow up questions about additional work done on my house that I was never informed about or consented to and irritated when I wanted to understand why the work was done. He didn't offer to come check on my concern or address it in any way to make me feel safe in my home, to the point that I called a separate electrian to come and look over the work and make the needed adjustments to ultimate correct my initial concern. My air conditioning is done & installed, but I had expected a very different experience and level of professionalism based on the reviews I read.

They did a wonderful job for us. Scheduling was easy. They were very responsive and communicative. We had Ralph out to do the work and he did a great job. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. We had him fix some Nest thermostat and zoning issues we had. He also did a full check and tuning of our AC and heat. And most importantly, he hooked up our gas for an outdoor firepit and grill. I would highly recommend using this company.

I had never used Ray Welter Heating and AC before. I called them based on the excellent reviews on Angie's list. I also called a number (6 or 7) of other companies with good reviews to come out and take a look at our equipment and give me an estimate on a new furnace for sure, and possibly a new air conditioner as well. Both the furnace and the AC were in the 17 year old range. Every single company rep told me I should purchase both the AC and the furnace at the same time and that doing so would save me many hundreds of dollars. No exceptions....except Ray Welter. I believe it was Ray's son that came to my house and talked to me and checked everything out. Since we rarely use our AC....even though it is old in years, it is not old in use....and, we take care of the unit. Anyway, he told me there was no need to replace both at the same time and that I should get as much use out of the AC unit as I can. He gave me an estimate for the new AC unit and said when I needed a new one....they would come out and put it in. The combined price from Ray Welter for the furnace and AC unit was right in line with everyone else, cheaper than some....and remember, all the others said they would be saving me many hundreds of dollars by purchasing both right now and having them installed together. The new furnace installation went smooth....everyone showed up when they said they would.....clean up was excellent....furnace runs great and we love the new free thermostat they gave us. Plus, now that summer is approaching, we have fired up the AC a little bit and it also is running great. Bottom line is this....I am always impressed with companies that do quality work, do what they say they will do, and if there is a problem, they fix it right away......we had a small filter issue and they were at my front door right away to fix it. And, they have integrity and are not trying to feed me a bunch of BS trying to get me to spend more money!! Thank you Ray Welter....it is a pleasure to do business with you!!

I had four estimates for my project given the high anticipated cost factor. The sales guy with Ray Welter was courteous and provided quick follow-up phone calls to my questions. I appreciated that. I focused my search on Carrier, Trane and Lennox dealers and their second highest efficiency models. While I did find another dealer that had a lower overall price for similar equipment, I opted for Ray Welter due to a generally competitive price, long time in business and good reputation in the local area and a positive experience with sales. The installation process went well with no unforeseen issues. The crew were pleasant, courteous and efficient. When I experienced a minor issue the day after installation, one of install supervisors came back to resolve it and also provided an "Intro 101" orientation to my new equipment as well. Lastly, the Utility company consumer rebates were processed quickly. The new equipment worked well during the initial winter heating season and the replacement whole house humidifier was far more effective than the prior model we had, We've not used the AC yet, other than a brief short test right after the install last fall. All in all, a job well done. I would recommend the company to others.

I like to keep things local so it was a no brainier to have then install new furnace and AC, George came out and gave me an estimate, great guy. Install went well and I am very happy with Welter and would hire them again. Great Company to work with.

As opposed to the HVAC/plumbing company that actually came out, looked at the unit, and then cleaned it up and replaced the filter for $189, you just responded to my request by saying that whole-house humidifiers can’t be repaired, so you’d come out and replace it for $750.

We are remodeling our house, putting in new windows and tightening up our older house with new insulation, so we needed an air exchanger. Rick at Ray Welter was very punctual with our inquiry, knew exactly what was needed but presented the options in a manner thoroughly explaining "what was what", we never had the feeling that we were being up-sold or being sold anything unnecessary. Their crew shows up on time, is very professional, and explains things above and beyond, just pro's all the way and seem trustworthy right off the bat. It's no mystery why their company has been in business over 100 years. Great guys and company, are extremely tidy and cleaned up everything, professionals all the way.

These folks were a life saver on a really hot day and a really hot stretch of weather n They were able to get me scheduled in the same day. The technician repaired the issue and checked to make sure there were no other issues.

The team at Ray Welter was extremely professional and punctual They performed the job in 2-3 days which was their initial proposal. After the asbestos abatement crew removed the gravity furnace and duct work, the Ray Welter team installed a new furnace and duct work with no hidden additional costs. The cost of the bid was extremely competitive. The Minneapolis inspector had no issues and even mentioned how well it was performed. I have several rental properties, and have had mixed experiences with other HVAC professionals. I won't hesitate for a second to use them again.

Called and requested a bid - was told they do perform this type of work and someone would call me back. I never received a call.

I called to have a schedule a maintenance check for my HVAC system as the guys that I hired previously did not really resolved my issues 100%. I wanted someone to come in, check my Airflow set up, etc. and suggest me if I needed some modification. I called Ray N Welter to schedule an appointment with someone but the lady who answered the call suggested me that they can't do it because they didnot install the original system and everyone is super busy. Could not even check the schedule and give a date. Really???? Since when HVAC system check up is restricted with the original set up company????

All went well. They arrived on time. I was told it would take 3 to 4 hours and it took 3 hours.

The tech arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule. No nonsense service and no additional sales pitches unlike what I observed from previous companies that we hired. Would definitely hire again in the future

I needed to replace the furnace in my mother's house as a part of the purchase agreement to sell it and Welter Heating was the company my realtor contacted. They were prompt with a quote and installation but where they were really outstanding was in the assistance of completing the complex rebate process made more difficult with the complication of the house sale. The Welter staff, and especially Rick Welter, maintained a high level of professionalism and courtesy. They put in a lot of time on the phone between utility companies to straighten out the confusion and kept me updated throughout the process. I highly recommend Ray N. Welter Heating & Air Conditioning not just for their professionalism, but for understanding how important good customer service is to those of us who are unsure of how to complete a task which seems daunting. They take the 'daunt' out of it.

Tech arrived and found that a drain was clogged, cleared the drain and the furnace worked. My angies list coupon reduced the cost of the service call.

Came and did the work quietly and quickly. Forgot to submit the CenterPoint rebate form but the office manager took care of it right when I called. Also had a coupon so the service was only $79.

Scott came out promptly. He diagnosed the problem but the price for him to get the part on Xmas weekend was too much. I ended up being able to fix the part with some wd40. I was not charged because with Angies list the site visit was free. I feel bad about them coming out and me ending up not paying them, but I appreciate this company and will use them when I get a new furnace or any other issue.
