Communication with the crew chief was good, and everything went as planned. Our furniture and other stuff was handled carefully; nothing was damaged or dirty. The crew chief pointed out a small scratch on the door at our new place, he said the crew had caused it while moving furniture. It was not a big deal, but I appreciated him pointing it out, and the company office later followed up with a call, but I did not pursue it, because it was a small scratch on a door that we planned to repaint anyway.

From the first contact over the phone with Adam we were pleased with the thorough and accurate information we were given. Both moves were well coordinated and communicated. Our move-in was a bit more challenging than anticipated due to the building still being under construction, long elevator wait times, etc. We were extremely pleased with the movers, they were professional, polite and handled our belongings with care. We will not hesitate to recommend Local Motion to all of our friends and families!

The movers at Local Motion did the job much faster than I could have done it myself even if I had been physically healthy. I was glad I hired them. It was easy to set up an appointment. Representative Adam helpfully pointed out that a Sunday move would be discounted from their regular rates, and I used that option. Cortez and Mark showed up precisely on time, and the move across town with about 25 cubic feet of boxes and suitcases took only an hour and fifteen minutes including loading and unloading. Mark and Cortez put a number of loose items in large boxes and helpfully took them up and down stairs in the new residence, saving me a great deal of strain. They were pleasant and efficient. I would definitely use this company again.

The move itself went great. Picking up and returning boxes was a bit of a hassle. All the furniture arrived intact. They were timely and overall did a good job.

Excellent. They were well trained on how to pack. They knew it would be tight so they packed very efficiently. They made a huge effort to get us on just one truck.

Everything went smoothly without a hitch. We also purchased boxes and moving supplies from Local Motion. When we return the boxes, our money will be refunded. The company is helpful with moving tips and suggestions. We plan to use them again.

Two men (Ray and Paul) and a truck came to my house, loaded up my pre-packed stuff, then stopped by my storage facility and loaded up more stuff, and delivered it to my new house. Nothing was broken, and I had no complaints. They did a great job. They showed up on time and put all my boxes and furniture where it was supposed to go in the new house.

It went well. The guys did their job. Took 2 hours and the guys seemed to take their time. The only thing that annoyed me was that they asked my boyfriend to help move stuff. I thought that was a little odd since they were paid to move. But it was early and my boyfriend didn't mind helping out to move things along.

I think they are fabulous and I can't say enough about them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. They have in their office a number of managers and in our case it was Adam. When we call we always speak with him and we feel that we are being personally handled. Adam had estimated that the job would take about 3-4 hours, but it ended up taking all day because I had under estimated the amount of items I had to move. They didn't complain about it at all, were very gracious and I didn't feel rushed.

I can't say enough good things about them. From the first phone call to the moment they drive away, they are beyond courteous, friendly, fast, competent and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs and their co-workers. I called to set up the work - just days before I needed them to move my mother over a holiday weekend - the phone estimate was accurate, quick, and pleasant. They showed up on-time, were friendly to all they encountered in the hallways of my mother's assisted living building, completed the move to two locations and delivered everything intact. I would highly recommend them to anyone moving - save the headache and backache and leave it to the professionals - especially when you can work with these guys.

Local Motion provided a useful, friendly estimate over the phone. After calling around, I decided to go with them based on a strong referral from a friend. Adam, my moving consultant, set up the move right away, answered my questions, and accepted a deposit for the move. On moving day, my movers hit a snag---their truck experienced technical problems mere blocks from the load location. They politely told me about the situation, rushed back to get a new truck, and were back downtown in about forty-five minutes. During the move, the movers were friendly and helpful---they allowed me to help where appropriate to cut down on load/unload time, and offered good suggestions to speed up the move. Overall, Local Motion's staff members were careful, polite, and a pleasure to move with. From my initial call for an estimate to my moving day, I received excellent service. I will definitely move with Local Motion again. Thank you!

Excellent! Loved the company, will use them again if I ever move.

The initial salesperson was helpful and prompt provided an estimate over the phone after conducting an interview. Based on the interview, we received an estimate of $1,100 using three movers and one truck. The movers (Anthony, Sam and Leonardo) were right on time at 8:30 AM. After the initial walk through, the team lead was concerned about things fitting on one truck, but said they would do their best to fit things on one truck. They did manage to fit things on one truck (which was good) but they worked very hard to do so. They worked nearly nonstop until almost 7:30 PM. The consensus was that our move probably should been a five person/two truck move (based on our final bill being 40% above the estimate and taking 10.5 hours versus six hours). The cost would have been the same, it just would have taken less time and our team of three guys would not have had to work nonstop for almost 11 hours. But it was what it was, and overall things went well.

The planned 3-hour move took over 7 hours. Not once did Bob and Nick lose patience. To the contrary, they were understanding, efficient, and extremely pleasant. Nothing broke.

These guys were great, we appreciated the attention that they gave this small job. If we ever need help moving we will definitely use your company again.

The fellas worked hard and were very nice to work with. They were understanding with challenges we had (kids, pets, incomplete packing).

There was a huge mix up with the storage facility and the crew was willing to come back several hours later to do the loading. This was above and beyond excellent service. Crew was courteous, efficient and careful. The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was having 3 men show up (and the resulting increase in cost) when the initial quote was for two men for approximately two hours. However, the overall time might have been longer with only two movers so I don't know if the final cost would have evened out.

The office people contacted us with a quote and then reminded us the day before the move that the trucks would show up on time. The team arrived as promised and got to work. The work was completed ahead of schedule. The whole team then went to the second location and loaded a truck there before lunch. After lunch the team came to our new house and unloaded everything carefully and made sure we were happy with the placement. All the work was performed carefully and calmly.

The initial sales person was very friendly and helpful. We received an email confirmation of our move date/time and other details. The movers were on time, extremely nice and professional. They were very fast and did whatever we requested. If they were ever empty handed, they actually ran to and from the truck!

We moved out of our home of 21 years into a beautiful old home in South Minneapolis. We were fairly well packed and organized, and the Local Motion loaner boxes and moving suggestions really helped us be ready. The guys arrived on time, were friendly and very competent. In addition, Leo, in the front office is great to deal with on picking up boxes and supplies. I would say the Local Motion crew went ''above and beyond.'' We will refer others!

Adam Hall was most cordial when I called. At first, the sale of my house fell through, but they said they would hold my deposit until I moved which they did. The move went very smoothly. The movers were very helpful. The company had been recommended by my realtor and exceeded my expectations.

After seeing that so many of Local Motions customers complained that the cost was so much higher than the estimate, I asked them to come for an in-person estimate so that we wouldn't get stuck with a much higher bill like other people. The person on the phone repeatedly insisted that phone estimates worked much better, that they did not need to come in person. When I brought up the fact that such a high percentage of past customers were charged much more than what they were told, his response was that most customers are inaccurate or lie about how much stuff they have. I asked him why they won't just come out to see how much is here so that it would eliminate any confusion, but he insisted that phone estimates work just fine. It's clear that it works so well for them because they are able to underbid the competition initially, and then jack up the price after the fact with no liability. Why was this company given an Angie's List Award when they have such shotty business practices?

They were on time and worked very hard for almost seven hours with only a 15 minute break. They protected the carpets and furniture for the move, and got everything in the one truck that they estimated was needed. The three movers were very polite, had a good sense of humor, and were very accommodating to my requests. I couldn't be happier with their work and the actual price was within $50 of the estimate. I got estimates from three movers (all highly rated on Angie's List) and their estimates were almost identical. I'd recommend Local Motion to anyone.
