It went really well and they are so fast and well planned in putting items in the truck to maximize the truck space. I was expecting the move to be done in 6 hours based on the fact we were moving from a townhome. We didn't realize how much stuff we had until they started moving. They worked so hard for our move and I will definitely use them again for my future moving needs.

Carl and Jeremy of Local Motion did a great job, even though I was not on site. The communication was perfect and Jeremy coordinated everything per my very detailed instructions. Very helpful, and we will continue using Local Motion for all of our local moving needs. We will also be referring Local Motion to anyone who purchases any of our properties we own in Minneapolis as well as refer our friends and family. The guys showed up on time. They were SLOW. Three men spent six hours moving just a portion of our household--basically the furniture and some household items. Sometimes they carried just one small item from/to the truck/house. One of the movers used vulgar language, and dropped a box that was too heavy. While the company was very good about fixing the few, normal damages they created, they were not at all responsive regarding our complaints that the move just took TOO much time! The move cost about 30% more than it should have.

It was a great experience - from my first call to Local Motion inquiring about their services through the move. Everyone I talked to was very helpful and respectful. I stopped by their Eden Prarie location at least three times to pick up boxes and I was always asking for moving tips. The person who helped me was more than willing to show me how to pack china, etc. On the day of our move, we had a four person crew and two trucks. It was amazing to watch them work. They work hard and fast. And they were very careful with items. I highly recommend them!

The company had a minimum charge for a certain amount of time. This amount of time was not used so it seemed a bit pricey for what was done. The time was changed on the day of service, however the two young men who moved items were very friendly.

Local Motion was amazing! Not a single item that was moved was broken. There was not one nick or scratch on any of our walls in either house, which is almost impossible to believe. The four person team was cheerful, professional, polite and in good spirits the entire time, despite the VERY hot days. The crew chief kept his team working hard and the team itself worked very hard and seemed extremely interested in our satisfaction with their effort. Every piece of furniture & electronics was wrapped to protect it and they treated all of our belongings as if they were there own. I would recommend Local Motion to ANYBODY who needs help moving.

Outstanding in all facets. I got their name from Angie's List. I called to get a quote and set timing. My project manager was courteous and very helpful. He told me who was going to be moving us and all the details. The moving team arrived on time and were great. They were very careful with all of our furniture. During the move, a company representative stopped by the house to check to see how things were going. I also got a call after the move to check to see if everything went well.

It went without any problems at all. They had wardrobe boxes for me to box up the clothes in the closets and they were very quick. It was about an hour and a half for them from start to finish. They made sure to ask where everything needed to be in the studio and did a nice job overall. They had to work a little harder because their truck was too tall to get into the loading dock at my building so they parked on the street. So, if your old or new place has a loading dock with a certain height clearance, make sure you check! But, even though they can't use my building's loading dock, I'm still going to use them when I move out.

I had used Local Motion before and had good results. This move started late because they couldn't find my house (this didn't happen a year earlier when they performed a smaller move of some items from my home), but larger problems started to develop as the move progressed. When the movers were attempting to remove my 13 month old upright freezer from the basement I told them repeatedly that the door was taken off the freezer when it was delivered. They disregarded this and tried to get the freezer out of the lower lever by pulling the door open as far as they could. At one point I was concerned they would snap the door off they were pulling on it so strongly. After they unloaded the freezer I discovered they put numerous dents in the outside of the door. They also broke a computer chair so that it wouldn't properly move up and down. I had to send two emails before they would even respond to my request for an update on what was happening on my claims. I was agreeable to their paying a flat rate for the chair because it was several years old but the freezer was only 13 months old and had never been moved since being delivered in March of 2007. The worst part is that now the company has not paid me anything for any of the damages despite promising to do so. In an email from Tony Lupton, Local Motion Vice-President, on Friday May 16, 2008 I was told that I would receive a check for the broken chair in two or three weeks. It is now Thursday, July 3rd (7 weeks later) and I haven't received that promised check. In his May 16th email Mr. Lupton asked me to get estimates on replacing the door on the freezer which I did and emailed to him on Friday June 13th. In my email of the 13th I also asked about the status of the payment for my damaged chair which Mr. Lupton earlier promised. In a response from Mr. Lupton on June 13th he didn't respond to my question about the damaged chair payment. He then went on to say that Local Motion would only pay me an amount $ 300.00 lower than the estimate to replace the door. Mr. Lupton claimed the State of Minnesota prevented him from paying any more than that (I'm checking into the truth of this latest claim). Overall I would like to see Angie's List take this dishonest company off the list for their lies, broken promises, and hiding behind legalistic spin instead of paying for their mistakes. This company hasn't delivered on even one promise they have made to me in the past three months!

I found them to be punctual and showed up exactly on time. They were extremely nice and professional, and got the work done in the time they said they would. I was very pleased.

THEY TOLD US THE COST AND IT WAS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER ESTIMATES. THEY SENT A HIGHLY EFFICIENT,PERSONABLE AND CARING STAFF TO DO THE JOB. THEY PROVIDE FREE BOXES. THEY WILL PUT THE FURNITURE WHEREVER YOU WANT IT.

They were very prompt, diligent about the work they did, friendly and did a great job of moving a piano down a flight of stairs; no mishaps!!! All of our household furniture and furnishings were moved with care.

Terrel, Martin, and Robert were excellent. They showed up on time early even and were polite, careful, and organized in addition to being plenty strong enough for the job. A real test was as I was gathering together the last boxes to put in the van, even though the day was already looking to be a long one, they showed no sign of impatience or complaint. Given how tired they must have been, that was a true sign of professionalism.

The Overall Experience was EXCEPTIONAL!

I chose them because they looked like the very best of the top three listed on Angie's List-and I can't imagine any movers doing better than these people. They surprised me with their professionalism and speed. They carried 3-4 boxes per person at once (even heavy boxes of books). They padded my house's front door edge to protect it, and they put down carpet runners to protect my floors. They shrink-wrapped a large fragile old desk to make sure the drawers didn't come open during the move, and lifted it carefully so the top didn't break off. They were cheerful, smart, and worked as a team. One reason their estimate was lower than the actual price is that they appreciated and used the color coded labels I'd put on the boxes, to get the boxes to the proper floors in the house in a hurry. I can see now why so many other people have loved this company. Ryan Seabright (and the company's email system) were superb when setting up and confirming the move-and answering my questions before the move-completely professional and patient.

After packing up 40+ boxes and trying to figure out how we were going to move the huge TV, the last thing we wanted to do was move it all up and down stairs. Local Motion made an otherwise dreadful move, easy. The scheduling was quick. The estimate accurate and the movers were careful and efficient - which is a hard combination to balance. It would have taken us another day to do it on our own.

They arrived on time, went to work immediately, covered the floors, wrapped the furniture, handled the furniture with care and, in general made our move quite easy. I would recommend Local Motion to anyone interested in having their furniture moved with care.

The movers did not follow instructions to put the bar on top of cardboard to further protect the floors, I had to ask them several times to please slow down and move the furniture in our bedroom. They had left all of the pieces to our furniture at our old apartment and couldn't put anything back together, and I certainly wasn't going to pay for another 1hr so they could remedy their errors. They pointed out 2 small pieces that had "come loose on the bar but could be glued back in" and quickly moved onto something else. 10 minutes after they left, we went to move the bar onto cardboard as we had asked and the bar completely fell apart. I immediately called Local Motion and was consistently forwarded to voice mails and not once did I receive an apology. I did not receive a return phone call all day and was only able to speak to someone on my 8th call that day. As the weekend passed, we continued to find more damage - our couch was bent and ripped on the corner, a HUGE gauge in our floor crossing multiple floor boards in addition to other scratches, our new table had scratches across it and chunks from the corners, as do our nightstand and dressers. The damage continued to the rental apartment we had moved from; they had scratched all of the hallway walls and damaged our neighbors property as well. I did not speak to a manager until late Monday morning and finally received an apology. I told them I wanted a full refund and for our damages to be reimbursed. I was then sent through the claims "process". From what we are experiencing, this simply delays any reimbursement on their end. We complied with this process, filling out multiple claims (which were then entered into the system with incorrect dates and numbers), and was promised that if we were "patient" and let them handle the smaller claims first we would get to the bar which is our main concern. We were given the run around and every time we asked for a status update, I was told to please be patient. When we demanded a better response, we were told we'd get an answer at the end of the day and didn't hear from them until 10 days later when we contacted them. We informed them that we would send out the complaint letter we had mailed to the president of Local Motion to the BBB and other various contacts. At that point, we were informed all of our claims are "closed" and we will only be getting $100 for the bar (although repair estimates were $3,000) and a total of about $300 for the other claims. They are refusing to communicate or discuss our situation further, and have lied about weighing our items to determine the reimbursement as they NEVER did because we were always present when the estimator was here. I was further insulted when our contact implied I had not been communicating our progress clearly to my boyfriend and they had done everything they could - obviously NOT TRUE.

It was a very good experience from start to finish. Initially contacted them to get information regarding a move like this, and was given helpful advice and hourly rate information. Contacted them to set up appt. and received a callback within 2 hours to arrange an appointment for end of week. Crew called ahead, and arrived when they said they would. Moved several heavy items quickly and carefully. Will definitely call them back when the remodel is done.

Moving is stressful and the teams were A+ in terms of personality, kindness, and helpfulness. The rest of the experience was not so great. I have antique furniture and LM doesn't know how to handle good furniture. When I was able, I had to give instructions as to how to handle large mirrors and chairs. They broke the leg of a French settee, and set a marble top for my coffee table. They set it against a wall: it fell and smashed to pieces. They filled out a report on site. When unpacking my boxes more things were broken: a glass hurricane, a port decanter, and a floral arrangement. (alive and thrown in a box on top of my wedding album!) They said they would use wardrobe boxes and did only for a couple things. We found a tuxedo, formal dresses, and all my children's hanging clothes thrown in a box. The worst part is we got the run a round for MONTHS and finally got paid for the table and broken items after many calls, letters and complaints almost 4 months later. So frustrating!!

Excellent! We used them to move from house # 1 to house # 2. Before the move, I received some email updates regarding the move; some of the emails included information I requested such as resources for donating items (i.e. non-profits). They were punctual and even called to confirm they were on their way. The two movers were clean, polite and took care of the hardwood floors (it was a snowy day; we couldn't believe they didn't make a mess!!). For a nominal fee they were willing to move a refrigerator from house # 2 back to house #1.

They were professional and did everything on time.

This move went terribly. They only had to move our items 1/2 a block. They did not take care with our new floors. Then they scuffed and scratched numerous walls they moved items into, broke a leg on one of our bedroom dressers, ripped off the plaster on two areas in our stairwell walls and arches, and worse yet, gouged our formal living room armoire on the front panel. The experience after the move has been almost worse then the move itself. After the move we submitted claims to the company and have had to contact them on many occasions to check about the resolution. First they told us a repair person would contact us within a couple weeks (which never happened), then they told us they were going to cash out our damage (without having inspected it in person or tried to repair it) and now they say that a 3rd party repair company will try to assist us in approximately 3-4 weeks. The move occurred well over a month ago and this situation is nowhere near resolved.
