Best darn fireplace guy around!

Dave was on time and very nice. I called on Tuesday and he was there on Wednesday. The pilot light in my fireplace was not staying lit. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away. After that, he proceeded to clean the fireplace and fixed a couple things that were installed incorrectly by someone else, and answered all the questions I had about the fireplace. He told me to let him know if I was having any more problems and he would come back. He was very knowledgeable. I appreciated his honesty. I thought his price was very very reasonable. I would definitely use him again, and have already recommended him to people at work. The fireplace looked as good as new when he left!

Dave was punctual, professional and very reasonable compared to competition. We are happy recommending him to one town home association.

We are in the process of acting as our own general contractor as we combine to condos. Needless to say, we have worked with numerous trades people and service providers. I am happy to say Dave is the best hire we've made to date. He was able to be there two days after I called, when the large companies in town were 2-3 weeks out. Speaking of the larger companies, it was one of them that recommended Dave to me because he was the best in town for electronic ignition. They weren't wrong! He made quick work of the fix, installed a remote, and made the fireplace look brand new. He did all that for about the price of the service call from better known outfits in town. Best of all, he's a really nice guy!

They squeezed us in on the weekend, showed up on time and fixed the fireplace. They were very friendly and gave honest recommendations.

It was a good experience. He was efficient, seemed to know what he was doing, found the issue, and corrected it.

Dave, responeded to my phone call immediately. Unlike other companies that I called, he fit me in his busy schedule by coming in the evening. He had all parts with him that he needed. He was very detailed in checking over the fireplace and immediately found and repaired the problem. I felt his charge was very reasonable for the amount of work that he did. I would definitely call him again.

It was a great experience. Dave was extremely busy and came Monday afternoon as he promised. We described the problem as above. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He also noted some smaller (annoying ,but a significant) issues that hwe had for awhile, but did not ask him to fix. However, he went above and beyond and fixed the smaller issues as well without any extra cost.

Dr. Dave was great! He is extremely knowledgeable about his trade. My 1930's house has a non-standard sized firebox. He could tell me right off the bat what was possible and not possible. In the end, what I wanted was out of my price point. But after two visits and some digging around on his own time, Dave didn't charge me a thing. I would recommend this guy to anyone!

Very satisfied customer. He arranged to do the job on a Saturday which was convenient for us and the job took exactly the time he said it would. The fireplace works great now and we were very happy with the job.

Very customer oriented. Lays down a tarp so no dirt gets on rug. I could not be happier. Price is almost 1/3rd that of Fireside Corner who I used the last time and they failed to fix the problem.

I called this guy on a Tuesday and he happened to have another service call in my area the following day so we scheduled the service for noon the next day. He called about an hour in advance of the appointment to indicate that he was on schedule and would arrive within a few minutes of our agreed upon time. (he said he had to stop for parts but that it shouldn't set him back a significant amount of time.) He arrived at 12:05, came in and immediately got to work. He was knowledgable, professional and thorough. He conducted various tests, to check to see if gas was leaking (there was) and fixed the problems quickly (loose fittings). He then cleaned and tested the working compenents and gave me an expected life expectancy for the critical parts. My fireplace is an older model, and he carefully and thoroughly explained what he was doing as he did it. He was concerned that when he removed the glass a gasket might be loose or need to be replaced. He explained replacement options but noted the gasket was in fine condition and simply cleaned the unit. He cleaned almost everything, vacuumed and dusted all parts. The only part he did not clean was the back of the unit - which would have required removing it from the wall. He took the glass off, cleaned that, removed the logs, cleaned them and even repainted the interior due to some surface rust. All parts were cleaned and/or polished. He wrote down all the serial numbers and recorded them for future use - in case I should sell the house. He gave me a copy and said this way if and when he returned he'd have all the information available and it would cut down on his time spent working on the fireplace. He requested a 2 hour window, he finished under this time. For the cost and experience this guy is worth the call. Since he's serviced the fireplace he said if it needed parts for the next year he would not charge labor costs - only parts - to come back. He's an independent business owner who said he has worked previously for a major installer and servicer. He told me that he would rather be his own boss so after a couple of years he opened his own business.

It was a positive experience. I called the fireplace doctor after seeing his name in Angie's list and noting that his business was close to my home. I called him and he was able to come over later that day to look at the fireplace and see what the problem was. He was very professional. He looked at the fireplace and did some basic tests. He quickly knew that we needed a control box and he has some refurbished ones back at his shop. Since it was later in the day, we agreed that he would come out the next day. He was back the next day right on schedule. He installed the refurbished control box which fixed the problem. He then cleaned out and performed annual services on the fireplace to include stacking the fake logs in the correct order per the fireplace manual. I would use his services again and have recommended him to several friends already.

Dave, was enjoyable to work with and very helpful. We still need someone to finish the stone and mantel, but his portion of the jobis complete and well done.

My fireplace is the heat source for my family room. It broke on the weekend and Dr. Dave came and fixed it then. We had to wait for some parts, so he couldn't finish the work right away, but was able to get the parts quickly. He was very professional and did a good job of keeping the area clean while he worked. I thought he was a lifesaver.

He phoned me at the request of another company. Responded very quickly (next day). Resolved the issue in one visit.

Excellent. Dr. Dave is very knowledgeable and very good at what he does. He was very honest and asked us what we wanted done giving us all of our options. His pricing was very fair. We ended up having to get a new remote for our gas fireplace and he came out a second time to help install it for us without a further service charge. Dr. Dave was also available via phone when we had follow up questions regarding our service. We cannot recommend Dr. Dave enough. He made the time extra enjoyable with good conversation and even better stories from his past! Highly recommended!
