Dave did a thorough and beautiful job cleaning our old fireplaces, repainting the firebox, adding new embers, checking all the part functions, etc. He made sure everything was safe and beautiful for the beginning of a MN winter season :) Dave also checked a third fireplace to determine whether a dripping sound, often heard in winter, was a problem, or source of potential problems. Dave was very informative, friendly, and professional. The rate was very reasonable for the amount of work performed. We will absolutely have him return in the future for all our fireplace rekindle and repair needs.

Very responsive when I called. Found an open place on his schedule for the next day due to my needs to have this done quickly. The job took longer than expected because of the thermostat that was not working. He stayed late to complete the job. Very pleasant and professional person. High quality results.!

Dave was awesome and we will never use anyone else to service our gas fireplace. He was VERY responsive and came out right away. Our gas fireplace is the only source of heat in our basement (finished and we spend lots of time down there) when it stopped working in the dead of winter. Were very worried about pipes freezing, etc. He came out right away, spent a lot of time educating us about the workings of the fireplace and what we should do for upkeep. Very personable guy. He worked outside of what one would consider "normal" business hours and did not charge anything extra. We had a $25 coupon from Angie's List that we used, above total is after the coupon.

Dave was reasonably priced useful other fireplace service providers. He is extremely knowledgeable and explain all aspects of service and repair. I would hanging recommend him.

Called Dave after I broke the glass assembly and he immediately knew where to get a new one. Came out after it arrived and thoroughly cleaned and checked out the fireplace. Installed the new glass and made a number of adjustments. Very knowledgeable, and Dave explains what he is doing and why. Spent well over two hours and charged only his flat fee of $169 plus the cost of the glass. Highly recommended.

They came in and checked the gas pressure, checked for a gas leak, inspected the fire box, cleaned and adjusted the pilot and burner and cleaned and reset the logs on both fireplaces. They also cleaned glass wall assembly on both fireplaces. I thought they were excellent. He was running late and called to tell me about it. He followed up and I would highly recommend him.

Dave was awesome! Better than I expected. He called before he came to let me know about what time he would arrive. He was very friendly, so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about fireplaces. He looked at all three fireplaces and was able to tell me what kinds of repairs each needed, about how much it would cost to fix each, and he helped me weigh my options since all I wanted was a fireplace to work in case of an emergency and there was no electricity in the winter, so I would want a working fireplace as a source of heat. I'm from California, so I had very little knowledge about fireplaces, and he helped explain to me about fireplaces, gas vs firewood, and advice on firewood. I did not make an decisions then, as I had to think about my options. I probably was not going to have any repairs done because we did have one working fireplace, which served my purposes. I asked Dave how much I owed him for the consult, and he did not charge me. I felt bad because he shared his time and expertise, which are valuable, but he insisted. I had a very positive experience, and if I had any fireplace work in the future or if a friend does, I would definitely call him again and recommend him to others!

My usual fireplace man was on a leave of absence so I researched on Angie's List for a new one. Saw that The Fireplace Doctor had 100% of A's on his review. Is somebody really that good? After hiring Dave, the answer is an emphatic YES! He actually deserves all A++ !Dave not only fixed my fireplace, but when there was another associated minor problem with it later, he returned immediately to remedy the easy problem. That's how good he is. He does a GREAT job and stands by his work just like in the good old days. They don't make them like Dave anymore. He is a gem and everyone should be calling him for gas fireplace repairs. And I just learned that he also does GAS GRILL repairs, too! Honest, dependable, professional, kind, funny, thoughtful, reasonably priced. I can't say enough about him and his business. More businesses should follow his model of quality service, unbelievable expertise, superb customer service. He sets the bar high for the trade. It was a pleasure to meet and work with him. I have told all my neighbors about him and I will most definitely use him again in the future! You'd be a fool if you didn't call him. Dave was punctual, explained what he was proposing to do based upon his inspection and when I gave the "OK" he protected the carpets next to our double sided gas fireplace and went right to work. I enjoy asking questions and Dave was great about answering all of them. He was really informative regarding every aspect of our gas fireplace which is what I was hoping for. I had been thinking about cleaning it myself and I'm so glad I didn't as we have no manual and even though it looks like a simple afternoon project there is always that inherent nature of natural gas that keeps me wondering. I will definitely be calling Dave back for all future needs. He also got a 2 PAWS up from our timid feline which means "excellent and thank you for my warm fireplace"!

Everything went great. The Fireplace Dr.'s rekindle package is cheaper than the other guys' 'Big Deal' price. He is very knowledgeable and you could tell that he has been doing this for a very long time and knew what he was doing. The two rekindle packages made my fireplace look and run like new. He also made sure my remote was working how it was supposed to be and even quoted me and did the work to paint the front of one of my fireplaces that used to be gold and I wanted black. The previous owner of our home had removed the gasket on the glass and had just used caulking to seal the fireplace and he was able to replace the glass with a new gasket attached for a reasonable price. I'd highly recommend him to anyone.

I would highly recommend calling Dr. Dave for any Fireplace or related services. He was extremely professional, called me back right away, and did an awesome job. He came to our house to take a look at the fireplace at a time that was convenient for us (6 P.M. on a weekday and on a Saturday too), then called the fireplace manufacturer to verify some info, came back, and cleaned did a great job. He was very patient and answered all questions. A great value too. Call him! You won't be disappointed.

Called for estimate and the Fireplace Doctor was very professional and courteous. I was able to get the defective part replaced by the manufacturer before my scheduled appointment so I had to call to cancel my service call. Again, the Fireplace Doctor was very professional and courteous in canceling my appointment.

Dave was on time and did an excellent job installing the fireplace blower - clean, professional, tested the blower thoroughly and explained how it works. Charged as quoted on the phone. Appreciated the fast turn around on phone messages - very good communication.

Dave arrived on time, special protective cloth on carpet, dissembled fireplace, cleaned everything, explained as he went tested gas; electrical pressure and connections.

My gas fireplace would not ignite so I looked on Angie's List and decided to call "Dr. Dave" the Fireplace Doctor. Dr. Dave found and fixed the problem and also cleaned my fireplace. He explained everything that he was doing and I learned a lot about my fireplace that I had not known before and that had previously never been explained to me. I really appreciated his explaining everything to me. I will definitely call him again when needed and I have also given his name to several friends who have gas fireplaces. He not only fixed the problem but he also educated me about my fireplace which I appreciated.

I Called the Fireplace Doctor because my gas fireplace would not light. I had looked up the problem on line and "learned" that I needed a new pilot light unit. The complexity of doing this on my own seemed more than what I thought I could do on my own and was prepared to pay around $600 after calling a few places. I do not remember the "doctors" name but he was on-time and assessed my fireplace and found that the glass enclosures, I had just replaced, were not put in correctly and therefore, did not trigger the switch to allow the pilot light to light the fireplace. He could have replaced the pilot light assembly and charged me the $600 but he instead did the right thing and informed me of the problem and reinstalled the glass enclosure. What I thought was going to be a $600 job was instead a $50 job.... I was very happy and relieved.

Dr. Dave did an awesome job identifying and correcting a problem we had with our gas fireplace. He did a very thorough job of cleaning the glass, firebox, and all the individual components. He even took a look at our wood burning fireplace (which had never been used before in over 20 years), and did a few fixes to it and gave a few tips at no additional charge. On time, great price, and a really great guy! Would definitely use him again.

An excellant experience! Not only did Dr. Dave quickly diagnose the problem (a loose wire connection), he also provided me with ideas on how to make my fireplace more efficient. I decided to add a fan to disperse the heat into the room. Dr. Dave fixed the loose wiring and installed the fan very quickly.

Dr. Dave was very accommodating with my schedule request and was on time. He was very courteous, took off his shoes, and laid down a tarp in the area he was working. Our gas fireplace had never been serviced since it was installed in 1996 and it hadn't been working the last couple of years. Dr. Dave quickly determined we needed a new theropile to get the fireplace to start working again. That part was only $40.00. He also did a tune-up and very thorough cleaning. It was obvious he takes pride in his work as he was very detailed in his cleaning. He reminded me of an artist working on a painting; he was so particular as he cleaned each crevice. Our gas fireplace was installed merely for decoration and did not kick out any heat. I talked to Dr. Dave about installing a blower and he provided me with the information I needed without any pressure to buy. He had the part with him and was able to install that day. The blower was $199. Dr. Dave provided the best customer service experience I've had in years. I would highly recommend his services!
